It’s the worst.
This frypan is the worst frypan I have ever purchased. I purchased it as I wanted a frypan which was non stick, easy to clean and Teflon free. What a joke! Everything sticks then burns, temperature all over the place, and as far as cleaning goes, I could soak it for a week and the food which has burnt and stuck on the pan wouldn’t come off! i have now resorted to using bicarbonate of soda to clean it. It can’t wreak havoc on it as it is was useless from the start.

Great frypan
First time user of a ceramic base. It is quick, non stick, easy to clean, can cook anything without ruining the food. (If any one can I can). I just add water and heat it up to remove any sticky food before washing it. No need to scrape or scrub to clean. I really recommend this type of frypan. I also really love Sunbeam.

Very similar to other negative reviews
It takes a lot for me to write a negative review. Only used this pan about half a dozen times, as far as I can tell followed the instructions to the letter. The food starts turning black before it is cooked and there is Severe black burning around the outline of the element almost as soon as you start cooking on it. I also thought to get away from Teflon surfaces, but at least they lasted a few years. I am going to take it back to the retailer. Not good.

Do Not Buy This Frypan
I've had this frypan for a month and it has to be the worst one I have ever bought. I thought the idea of a ceramic coating would be an improvement on the old teflon that has been my go-to frypan for decades. Even on a low setting it burns around the element ring. The thermostat clicks on and off constantly. It has scratches on the high sides that have appeared. Schnitzels are impossible because they catch and burn as soon as they hit the surface - even on low setting. Really disappointed.

Worst Frypan I've ever had
This is probably the fourth frypan I have had in about 30 years and is without doubt the worst. It boasts a more durable scratch resistant DuraCeramic coating and easy cleaning. The coating is tough, I'll give it that, but from there on it is all bad news.
The thermostat is all over the place and won't maintain an even cooking temperature - you are either burning food or not cooking it at all. Food sticks to the surface as soon as it goes in the pan and it is a nightmare to clean.
Don't buy one!

Live and learn - so disappointed
This is the worst electric frypan I have ever purchased. Struggled with this product for 7 months and about to bin it. Uneven cooking, burns food, unreliable temperature control and impossible surface to clean following manufacturer's instructions. Have purchased various sunbeam products in the past and never experienced so many problems.

Not so non stick
Have always bought the non stick frypan and it's ok last a certain amount of time the I replace it with another but thought I would try the Duraceramic frypan to see if I could get even longer out of it but with in a week was sticking majorly around the element,in fact it was burning while the food was still just starting to cook. We have had it about 8 weeks and already needs replacing. It also has an issue with consistent temperature up down stewing then burning . Just wish for an electric non stick frypan that lasts longer than 4 months.
Note' followed cleaning and stirring with non scratch as well. Also have photos to show what is happening.

Not as advertised
I have done everything right with this frypan. Wiped out with paper towel, used suitable utensils for non stick cookware. Now have a line where the element is and little black blotchy bits. Assume this is the coating coming off. I am not impressed. Would not recommend purchasing this product.

Reliable and easy enough to clean
The instruction manual says the frying pan will pan fry on medium, when the food first goes in like steaks or schnitzels it sizzles away but soon stops cooking bit of experimenting needed to find the right temp, if you aren't in to much of a hurry a lower temp will work while you do other things, for some reason works better with dishes that have more liquid in like a sauce doesn't seem to cool off as much. Mine also has burn marks on the cooking surface which don't seem to come off avoid using any harsh abrasives you will damage the frypans ...Read more
coating. Good points you can immerse in water to clean once the element is removed and has a lever to raise the pan to drain the fat to one end. Have done a update on the review as is now August 2018 and electric frypan is still going strong with at least two uses a week have found that if you tap the element lightly it will restart cooking before it does it itself and the burn marks on the bottom haven't got any worse, just put some water in pan when you have finished and put on low for 5 minutes with a bit of dishwashing liquid and rub around with dish brush quick wash out with hot water and ready to go for next time.Similar opinion? Not so good as I thought
This frypan cooks ok but does not clean like I was led to believe. Food bakes on in a circle and does not just wipe off. Now it has some scratches where my husband has rubbed it. I thought the Duraceramic surface would be much better. I regret buying this.

Works great easy to clean.
I've been looking for a electric frying pan that; is easy to clean, non-Aluminum surface (suspected Alzheimer's risk), non stainless (hard to clean) and not Teflon (breaks down suspected carcinogen). There is little to nothing that fulfills these requirements.
The pan is made from Aluminum but coated in DuraCeramic (ceramic) surface. Heats up evenly and fast, pan is also light to move around. Very easy to clean, also good price and size. Very happy with it.

Has anyone else had chips appear on the surface of their skillet?

Not at this stage. Very happy with our purchase so far
Yep, shortly after getting it. This ceramic coating is supposed to be "the hardess" material around. Well thats crap. And burning, base has a constant burn ring around the element that wont remove. We use teflon tongs and olive oil spray only. Just waiting for it to die and I'll purchase the standard frypan.

Hi, am very happy with my Sunbeam skillet SK6000 which I purchased some months ago. However, the Integrated Knob and Steam vent on top got loose and has come away. As I am an old aged lady pensioner, am having trouble reassembling this and no instructions in the manual. Can you help?

I would RING Sunbeam as soon as possible, it doesn't matter whether the skillet is still in warranty. The phone number should be in your instruction manual. Good luck.
Many thanks for your reply. I will contact Sunbeam.

Good afternoon, in the book it says to clean with a cream multi purpose cleaner. Which cleaner would you recommend?

Hi, BSG3, the only cleaner I've used is the Jif cream cleaner and that's the only one I've been able to find that sounds OK. It works well, you only need a small amount on a paper towel or damp cloth. If I could still buy it I'd use the Corning Ware cleaner which was just brilliant but I haven't seen it for ages.
Thank you. Will try Jif.
Customer C.Sunbeam
Hi BSG3,
Yes any cream cleanser will do the job.
