TCL The Not So Smart Tv
I purchased a TCL 32S6000S Smart TV and a Concierge Extended Warranty from the Good Guys in Belconnen on 30th November 2017. Unfortunately, the so called “Smart TV” fell well short of the claims made by TCL and the sales assistants at the Good Guys.
Although I thoroughly researched the model prior to purchasing it, including discussing the features with two sales assistants, downloading and reading the “Operation Manual” and reading the published reviews, I ended up very disappointed with my purchase.
I had two main reasons for selecting ...Read more
this particular model but unfortunately it did not fulfill either of these. Firstly, according to the two sales assistants I spoke with, and the “Operation Manual”, I should have been able to connect the TV via Wi-Fi to my computer and gain direct access to videos and music stored on my computer. This was not the case. After purchasing the TV and spending four (4) full days trying to access this feature, I was eventually advised by TCL that direct access is only possible if the TV and computer are connected via a HDMI cable. Had I known that I would be required to run a 15 metre cumbersome HDMI cable through my house to perform this function I would not have purchased the TV. Secondly, according to the two sales assistants and the “Operations Manual”, the TV had an additional feature of a USB PVR with Timeshift. Despite four (4) calls to the TCL Electronics Customer Service Hotline and following their advice, which meant resetting once and reinstalling the TV twice, neither the Customer Service Officers nor myself could get this feature to work. Each time I tried to access the feature I was advised “Feature not available”.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Don't bother. Save yourself the time.
I bought this TCL 32S6000S Smart TV to replace a TCL L32D2700 (a non-Smart TV which was still in perfect working and reliable order but I needed the Smart TV connectivity). The price was extremely good from The Good Guys in Melbourne and my great experience with the previous model was so good and fuss-free that I thought I could not go wrong.
I was wrong. While unboxing and initial setup was easy and drama-free, once set up I noticed that the links on the HOME menu page, when clicked, brought up a black screen. I waited. And waited. Nothing...Read more
. The only way to fix was to turn the TV off and on. I tried again. Same issue. I called TCL (a total of 7 calls over 2 days). Eventually, they said I needed to upgrade the software to the latest version. OK, no worries I thought but why should a brand-new product out of the box require a software update immediately to work reliably? They emailed me a file to copy to a USB and instructions to install the update and also to do a hard reset. Note: TCL does not currently offer automatic download via wi-fi for software updates – unlike other companies. Unfortunately, the newly installed software would not give me the location option of Australia - and therefore the TV could not search and install Melbourne TV channels. Although the TV would switch on, the TV was unusable for watching regular free-to-air TV.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

TV TCL
Bought this TV for my loungeroom as my old TV wasn’t working. It’s a good size and the picture is good quality. It’s big enough for the room. Colour is good and speakers have a good sound. It has an easy to use remote, and was very easy to install.

Highly recommend this budget tv
Ive had this tv for a week and really like it, it’s my first smart tv and was very easy to set up and love the netflix button on the remote. I think the picture quality is very good for a budget tv, and aesthetically the tv looks very nice, its very slim and lightweight aswell. I havent had it long enough to comment on reliability, here’s hoping everything is okay.

Great Value, Great Picture, Netflic built in
I bought this TV to take advantage of the built-in Netflix and SMART TV capability, and just for the Master Bedroom, so while it has a lot of whizz bang features, I really just use it for TV, Netflix and have plugged a Blue Ray/DVD into it. Everything has worked perfectly since installing it. Mounted it on the wall, plugged it in, turned it on - it found my network, connected to it, logged into Netflix and all good to go - took about 5-10 minutes tops. I was dubious about TCL as a brand and prior models had poor reviews and a lot of problems highlighted (Netflix access, sound issues, too complex a remote, Wi-Fi issues, etc) but this has been awesome and no issues at all with the TV and the picture is great.

Terrible
It worked the first time we turned it on but the second time it had no sound. The sound then worked every 3 or so times it was turned on. We were told it will work with any hard drive to record and it would format the hard drive when it was first plugged in which didn't happen and we weren't able to record. We were also told you could set it to record programs at times in the future which was also incorrect. It is more like an olden day VCR where you have to manually start and stop recording, not really all that "smart". We only bought it as i...Read more
t was on sale, we have never had any issue with cheap tvs from places such as Dick Smith and Big W. So I thought spending more than I ever had on a brand new item it should at least work when you first bring it home??!! We took it back, hoping it was a did but they had none of this size in stock so we fork out an extra $90 for the next size up... It was already a stretch to pay what we had so we reluctantly paid more, but at least we were getting a 5" bigger TV. Surprise, this TV only worked the first time it was started as well. Later that night, first it wouldn't turn on. When it eventually turned on, no sound. The next day we called the store, who acted very surprised there were issues with this TV also. They told us to bring it back in, before taking it back the 30km plus re packaging etc, we thought we would ring TCL thinking we must be doing something wrong for the same thing to happen twice. TCL talked us through trouble shooting and thankfully it worked, they also told us we needed to format our hard drive and how to do it. However, next time we turned on the TV, doesn't want to turn on, so we do the trouble shooting and then, no sound. We called them back and they told us to take it back to the store. So we make the trek back in and looks for the sakes consultant we had been dealing with and are stopped by another guy. He tells us TCL are crap, asks us why we bought it and tells us to buy Hisense which are of course more expensive again. Shows us the 50" hisense which at full price is still more expensive than the 55" TCL ... They then kindly offer to swap the TCL for the hisense for the same price.... But it doesn't seem to concern them that it was a stretch to fork out that much in the first place which we reluctantly agreed to do because the TV was bigger! So now I am leaving with a smaller, more expensive TV and not happy about it. Then this new guy informs us he is the manager! So.... Why??? Is the manager selling a product he knows is crap and doesn't work??? I can't help but think it was all a ploy to get people to spend more, bait them in with a crappy product that can only be replaced with something more expensive that is probably owned by the store??!! So, after all that I am very disappointed in this TV and The Good Guys.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Amazing
The TV is amazing for the price! At the beginning I thought the quality of this TV may just so so, but when I used it, the quality surprised me, and the audio was amazing! Furthermore, I can connect it with my computer and smartphone, it is very convenient for me!

Best bang for your buck!
I purchased the older 32E4900S from the Good guys and had issues using Netflix (see other review). TCL visited me at home twice but couldn't fix it. I took the TV back to the Good guys and after much arguing (Their warranty terms are rubbish) they finally agreed to let me pay the difference and exchange it for a 32S6000S.
The 32S6000S is a much better TV. All the functions work without any lag whatsoever. The picture quality is also noticeably better. Finally a well priced TV to rival my LG TV.
I would recommend you pay the extra $$ and get this model over the cheaper 32E4900S.

Great TV for the money!
I recently purchased a new TCL 32 inch smart tv through Betta Electrical and I have to say i am damn impressed. Besides the great clarity of the HD screen, it has many options including built in wifi connection, and I can even connect it to my computer remotely and watch videos, I can stream from my phone to the TV just like Chromecast, and the options of watching netflix as well as other online videos and apps to download for the tv so you can browse the internet via the TV. After my crap Teac TV decided to crap itself, I found this TV to be o...Read more
