Mediocre
Good tv for the price. It looks nice and has plenty of ports.
The panel doesn't reflect the most gorgeous colours but more of a neutral colour compared to Samsung or Sony's TVs .
Operating system is android and has plenty of apps to chose from. It's not bogged down from typical supplier OS

So many issues
I bought the 55P20US a week before Christmas and have had many issues since.
Even on the day of purchase after setup. I found audio was out of sync. Channels had black screen and only audio. The worst effected was the 7 network. With audio coming from a different channel and one channel having half a picture from another. The freeview banner would not disappear. I emailed tcl with a reply of a factory reset. After about a week after the reset. The same issues returned. Once again I emailed tcl. With a reply of an update via a file link through...Read more
usb and it's process. I updated the TV and more problems occurred. The new issues as well as the old were loss of certain buttons on the remote control. When using the dedicated channel buttons. It would switch over to the source menu on hdmi or av after changing channels a couple of times. I've finally organised through the store I bought it from to have it replaced. But lucky enough I'm having it replaced with the so called better model 55CUS delivered. So I shall update once I receive the replacement TV up and running.

TCL & Kambo STAY AWAY
TV 4 months old and failed TCL advised they will only repair even through TV was less than 6 months old Kambos advised contact TCL did not want to know otherwise, If the first time I have gone away from my normal suppliers Good Guys and Harvey Norman, Will not be doing that again. Both Good Guys and Harvey Norman replace complete units if they are not very old and I don't consider 4 months to be old. (Bought a replacement TV from Harvey Normans 3 years replacement offered no problem)

Great TV for 4K Gaming on PS4 Pro - HDR10
Been playing for a month now and am very happy paying under $900 for a 4K HDR TV. Had some issues with HDR but called up TCL Support and we found the Setting to set HDMI 2.0 on the PS4 Port. Sound isn't to bad either for a cheeper TV. Android OS works well, boot up is a little slower than my LG 4K using Web OS but having android Tv is a bonus. Netflix app works great, supper fast and play HDR content. A real winner in the best TVs under $1000

Get what u pay!! But could be bit better
I bought 2 Tcl 60inch lcd ultra hd tvs from the good guys 3 months ago, lcds color look just ok if u compair with samsung or LG lcd tv.
PRONS=(1)Lcd colors good enough according to the price.
(2) lcd panel look very stylish.
(3) light weight
CONS= The biggest problem it takes more then 1 to 2 mins to start the tv before you can watch any thing on this tv and this is the only big disadvantage to buy this tv which make all good things not countable.
Suggestions = if tcl can fix this delay problem then its a good tv

Great tv if you want Android!
I purchased this tv on it's reputation for being able to install kodi from google play store, with it's powerfull dual band WiFi capability it's a great tv for internet media streaming at a much lower price then another top of the range brand.
Well worth looking at if you are in the market for a tv!

YEAR LATER UPDATE Bought to run with Xbox One X
Honestly, this was the cheapest TV that supported 4k@60hz. With HDR10. It's red is washed out to pink, without a lot of fiddling with settings, (same as my cheapo Hisense). It is certainly better than a Hisense TV. The android function works fantastically well and appears to have 10gig storage in the TV (you can add USB drives). I didn't buy this tv for it's android functions, but the Youtube app on the TCL is far superior to the Xbox, runs 4k perfectly smooth. I could not get HDR10 to work for hours... Heres the trick: set HDMI input to 2.0 (...Read more
not auto) and set colour depth on the Xbox settings to 10bit... you'll get HDR then. At $749 this is a damn good set of features. I got a cash back off TCL, however that ends Today, 12/11/17. April 5th 2018 Update: Cheap UHD, HDR Android TV You're not going to enter 4k gaming with HDR much cheaper than this tv. The HDR takes fidling to get right, the Android works well. It has a bit of frame stutter and image tearing in 4k games, but it's budget enough to overlook. The tv is extremely light, very good for wall mounting. I'd strongly recommend this over a cheap Aldi Bauhn tv. ***************** Now November 2018, one year later. In short, I have now bought an OLED PAnasonic to replace this TV.Similar opinion? Awesome tv! Large feet though
Amazing picture quality on this tv! And not being a big brand j was sceptical but it is great! Only downfall on this tv is that the feet are quite large and wide being a big tv meaning a regular size tv unit won't suit this... so had a buy a new one but not much hassle!

Good picture but terrible manufacturer after care
I bought my first smart tv and was very excited that it had a good sized screen with bright colours and black blacks. It’s UHD so the picture quality is really good.
I straight away had issues with switching from HDMI back to tv as the channel presets would disappear making me retune the tv every time. It then started dropping the wifi out and the setting would actually be turned off when I went to put the wifi password back in. This became a frequent issue. I was in email contact with TCL with no real help except for doing a factory reset. I...Read more

Perfect gaming TV
Currently running in PC mode, HDMI 2.0, 4k@60hz, 4:4:4 chroma set in nVidia panel
Input lag seems very low.
Its very responsive in 4k FPS games like PUBG, Division, Ghost Recon Wildlands – but anecdotal at best.
Text is very readable at 100% no font scaling 4k
if you look really close, there is some banding of colours – screen door effect, simply sit back a bit
tv features – dont care
-would definitely recommend for gamers-

Horrible DO NOT Purchase a TCL TV
This TV is a junk
We purchased this unit brand new from Bing Lee and went on holiday before we could set it up.
When we eventually set it up, it was riddled with problems.
HDMI CEC doesn't work
Turning on the TV is PAINFUL, It can take up to 10 mins to turn on, mashing the power button on the remote and the unit (while it's in standby mode) it simply won't turn on.
Fast turn on mode won't work (even when we enable it every time we turn on the TV)
We have been stuck in a customer support loop for over 8 weeks now and we get the runaround...Read more
, they are not just uneducated but they are lazy. I was asked to take days off work to meet a technician who never showed up. Because we didn't open the tv and report it in the first 2 weeks (because we went on holiday) they wont replace it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Bang for the buck Android TV
I would recommend this TV for people who only want to spend money on something that is worth more than what it cost. I paid 750 for my 50P20US at Costco when it was on special, which I don't think you can get any better 50" "Andriod TV" out there in this price range. I have played with it for 3 weeks before writing this review, the picture is very good, the sound is ok for flat TV like this, but if you want more Bass, you will need a soundbar. The only problem I had was with the Bluetooth pairing issue, it won't pair with my Bluetooth speaker. ...Read more
I Email the TCL support, they helped me promptly and solved it with a system update. Do remember this is an "Android TV", so do not try the mix it with Apple. It can side load apps with USB drive, transfer youtube video from your phone to the TV with a touch thanks to the built-in Chromecast. I enjoy and love this TV, it even comes with a 3-year warranty for peace of mind. What else can you ask more for a TV at this price range?Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Disappointed- screen mirroring doesn't work with iphone
If the colour is red then, it affect the whole screen.
The most feature I wanted is screen mirroring and can't get it to work, emailed support I never got a reply back. I would not recommend this brand to any one, spend a little extra $ and get a known brand. I will not buy a TCL product again.
August 7th 2017 Update: TCL ultra 4K TV
I called the TCL support and I was advised that this p20us series is the latest one but screen mirroring with iPhone doesn't work and they suggested me to use the android phone instead, iPhone came out more than a decade ago n it is not supported? I just hope they have a firmware update to resolve or I will never ever try another TCL product.

Quality is poor
We bought the tce 60p20us tv a few days ago and we are very disappointed with the picture. It looks furry and very blurry for what it claims to be. We rang tcl and he kept saying it was a reception issue? We got a tv installer to come and look at it and he said the must be something wrong with the tuner coz it shouldn't do that. Our 6 year old lg tv has better quality than this. We are going to return it and get a better brand. The seller reckons that it's a broadcasting issue because we live in a rural area. Don't believe the lies they tell you.

Less than expected
This is supposed to be the latest and greatest product from this particular manufacturer. But I wish that one of their own developers had taken it home to use for themselves. I am sure then that they would have quickly noted it's limitations.
For a "smart tv" it leaves a lot to be desired.
It's price puts it in the "mid range" of other sets.
I cannot fault its vision and sound performance. Great picture, and good sound. But it's "operation".......well......
Let me describe two simple features (among others).
Firstly: the set cannot delet...Read more

Happy so far.
RRP $1699 @ Good Guys, bought for $1400 delivered. THeir service was good and helpful & they were busy. There's a $70 TCL rebate available that we took advantage off that gave us vouchers for Coles. So, net cost of the TV of $1280.
Assembly was easy. It's light so one person could conceivably get the legs on it. That was the more difficult task.
Setup was straightforward. No issues.
This is setup in a living room, 3.5 metres from the viewers and it's pretty damn good. We have no complaints with colour, sports viewing (come from a 42" Pana V...Read more
