We have had our soup maker for just over 2 years and love the soup it produces.
Have now noticed that fluid has begun to leak from the base of the jug - took the unit to the local(Adelaide) service centre however they were not able to fix the problem at the time. They contacted Tefal Australia who informed them that there now was not any technical support available here in Aus! The service centre advised that they would now email Tefal head office in France to clarify what was required to fix the leak. The information that they could access online was according to them not clear. Response could take up to a month they said.
We are not happy with this as my wife cannot use the machine in its present condition and we have paid a significant amount for it when purchased. Would have thought the local service people should have been able to rectify the problem.
Would appreciate any response that would help- would rather not have to go out and buy a new one.

Have the same problem maybe... can you describe this fluid? mine is clear brown like fish sauce and deposits as droplets around inside the base and up under the jug.( Cant determine that it is due to leaking seal under the blade or not... I was advised that it was OOW and to check with a repairer ( at $60 plus P&L) ! Kogan sells one for < $70 -free shipping & one year warranty Kambrook has a new "soup 2 simple" too - $119... Also the plastic lid is showing stress lines / fractures and I was quoted at $37.00 posted for the complete 4 piece lid (as parts not available separately). Seems like writing is on the wall to me... but I too would love to hear differently.... however I absolutely cannot be without a soup maker !

Hi James, the only thing I can think of - is your jug locked properly onto the base, mine flashed once and I discovered that it was locked in properly.

Hi Debbie, not sure where exactly where to buy in Auckland, but I would think that any good electrical retailer should have it get in for you the Tefal Soup & Co (someone like Harvey Norman that we have in Australia). You will not regret buying this great machine. Good luck, Deborah

Hi I have just got your soup maker! Can I use raw meat in it?? Or should I cook the meat first??

HI, I found that steak or lamb can turn out a little tough, but I think raw chicken would be fine.
I made the lamb curry, and the meat was too tough. But it said to put in the basket, I think maybe in the bottom would be better, not sure about this.

Hopefully a Tefal Official can help me out, my mother struggles to eat solid food so the blending function of the soup maker is great, it's a great machine I just need more variety for her to take control of it herself, step by step.

Hi sorry I don't understand the question. You just turn the lid to unlock and then turn back to lock.
Would not be a good idea to open when it is being used.

I have only used twice and not see any steam coming out of the appliance. Should I have the measuring cup at the top in place? I can't see where steam could come from? Not when it is sealed.
It is expensive, so hope I don't have any problems like the ones I see here.

Hi Shirley W, Thank you for your question on the Tefal Soup & Co. When you are cooking in the soup & co you should have the top measuring cup in place. The only time this should be removed is when you are adding any additional ingredients to the appliance whilst cooking. There may be no steam releasing during the cooking process this would be normal. If you would like further clarification around the use of the appliance you can call our Customer Service Team on 1300 307 824. Hope this helps. Thank You - Tefal Australia

My tell soup and co is overflowing during the cooking process. The steam runs up to the small lid and comes out over the bench. The liquid is not at the maximum point and only just at the lower line. Any ideas?

1 answer
Lynne
Lynne

Steam has to escape or you would create a pressure cooker event and it would explode. I put mine near the exhaust fan when cooking with it so I do not have condensation running down the wall and on the bench. If it is the liquid itself actually over flowing then you possibly have a faulty seal and you need to contact Tefal for a replacement inner section of the lid.

Can I use raw chicken and meat in the Tefal soup maker or do I need to precook the meat? Also what cycle should I use for uncooked meat recipes?

If you use the Soup & Co recipe book it will give you recipes using raw chicken, lamb, seafood and mince. I tried these recipes first following their instructions and then I adapted them for different meals. I use the manual mode and set my own times. You can use the blender at any time during the cooking process. The key is to master the recipes from their book so you will understand how to make other things.

Tefal
Tefal A.Tefal

Hi Glowie,
Thank you for your question on the Tefal Soup & Co. You can definitely use Raw Chicken and Meat in this appliance. In the Soup & Co Recipe book this will show you how to use the Soup Maker using Raw Meats, If you don't have a copy of the Tefal Recipe Book please send us your details to and we will arrange to send you one.

I use my Soup & Co a lot, every two days. The inside part of the lid, the one with the rubber/silicone sealer, started loosing the small parts that attach to the outer lid. The Base of the little parts started looking cracked and started falling off one by one. I've just bought a replacement lid but was wondering if anyone else was having the same problem? I'm really careful with the washing and I didn't drop it or anything! Thanks!

I had one break off when dishes were stacked on top of it while draining after washing up. Since then I have been very careful to rest nothing on this part of the lid. Because this appears to be the weakest part of the machine and I always take it apart to wash it, I have been aware that I will need to buy a replacement inner lid at some stage, assuming of course the Soup & Co keeps working with daily use for many years!

Mine is 2 yo last week; used 4 x week (min); has never been in dishwasher; has been dissembled fully for washing draining /drying after each use; not dropped tony knowing and is now showing stress lines (tiny fractures) in the upper lid and lift out smaller lid.The seal is still intact and the inner lid has no problem with those small clips. The quoted price (at submitting this A.) for the whole lid assembly was $37.40 posted to 3840 ( separate parts unavailable) ....However not sure about lasting "years" as i have discovered in the past 2 uses that a small amount of thin brown clear fluid is being sprayed as spots around the inner top of the motor base and the underside of the removable jug. Tefal didn't have a tech service and the closest registered repairer was about 2 hours away with an approx $60 + parts/labour extra....... They couldnt tell me if my product was still safe to use, which was disappointing. So I am wondering if anyone else has had this too and also to keep posted as I may have second hand parts available in future!

Have you got the seal in the lid properly? The lid has four parts, the center part that comes out for adding ingredients, the inner part of lid and the seal that fits around this bit. Check that everything is seated properly. I find the inner bit with the seal snaps into outer bit. Sorry I don't have better descriptor terms. Finally the whole lid has to be in right or you get beeps.

Hope that helps. You may have to contact Tefal.

Hi make sure it's clicked in properly. The other thing it could be is that the lid is not secure try that if it's still doing the same thing take it back. They were happy to replace mine straight away.

I use my machine at least 3 times a week to make soup. The base for my soups consists of orange coloured veggies with some others. My machine is becoming harder to keep clean. It has an orangy brown stain around the blade. I've tried small brushes and fine plastic scourers but no luck. I'm not keen to have cut fingers! I've even tried running vinegar and water but no go. Any suggestions?

Hi that's sucks. I've realised if you put water at the end it will burn. I've used my replace my 5 times already and make sure the liquid is in first snd then add my ingredients. Once finished with add water and put it on the 4yh programme with soap and time well. Hope it helps.
