Hi Guys, i am looking for a bigger unit like the one used by physio. Me and my husband both have shoulder pain and want to get away from tens units run by 9v battery. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi. For two years or so i used a Revitive machine with the pads and initially thought it was good. But honestly i think benefits are mostly psychological and very temporary. After half an hour the dis...
Read morecomfort returned. Yes it was good while it was running, and better when it stopped but i put that down to the "Banging your head on the wall effect", it is nice when you stop! I use a 9 volt tens device from Aldi which is better, convenient, simple, portable and reasonably powerful. But again, its very temporary relief. I think much the same about physio machines too. I hope you find something to give relief. Maybe massage and gentle exercise? Can the tens machine relive neuropathic pain in the base of the feet caused through a partially severed nerves in the spine and diabetes?
Hi Sarina. I too have some neuropathic pain from diabetes and frankly the answer is any relief is slight, temporary and inconsistent. Tens machines are good for the temporary relief of muscle and joi...
Read morent pain . As for back pain, I guess it depends on the individual. I don't get relief from the machine. Good luck with it anyway.yes but you have to find the best placement for electrodes I have been using tens for 20 + years and they do work I am diabetic with spinal nerve damage
which tens machine is best?
The construction of a tens machine is quite simple and I don't think one is "better" than another. Tens machines have features and choosing one which has more features and settings for a little more m...

Mine is an Aldi machine but it us made in Taiwan, infinitely preferable to China.Does this machine work for osteoarthritis in the thoracic spine as ive tried everything even painkillers so over it?

Read moreelp.. i still take some pain relief but not as much as i used to..I am awaiting a hip replacement and as there is no cartilage left and is bone on bone, will a tens machine relive some of the pain?
Regards Jan
Hi Jan, the way a TENS machine works is that it 'scrambles' the pain messages to the brain in the location where the pads are applied and act as a distraction from it. I cannot answer your question wi...
Read moreth yes or no, would recommend you google TENS and read a bit more about it, maybe discuss with a physio (if you have treatment already). It does require a bit of trial and error with the treatment to find a program and frequency of use that works best.hi. I cant guarantee it because everyone is different. you can not relieve the bone on bone hence the surgery, but because the muscles are working against you normal walking and posture is compromise...
Read mored, it will certainly help relieve the muscle pain surrounding the area. pain from the hip goes down the leg and into the groin and of course many other places from not walking properly. the more you are able to keep active now, the quicker your recovery will be after surgery. I found with my knee replacement that the machine helped before and after (consult doctor after surgery when it is safe to use again) surgery and still helps me with my back and shoulder, also when I over do it with my knee, so I do highly recommend buying one but shop around. your doctor may also be able to order one for you from their medical book but make sure you can get replacement pads. takes a bit of getting used to but worth it. hope this has helped.. :-)In my experience the tens machine works on muscles and ligaments somewhat superficially and temporarily. You can only try it. I am doubtful
I hope you get relief soon.
T.E.N.S machine; If you have had a scaffolding of metal pins and screws fixed to your spine following surgery, would the electric impulses transmitted by this machine have a negative or unhealthy affect on a patient's body ?
I recently had the unfortunate experience of purchasing an Omron Tens machine. This is a terrible product that I would not recommend to anyone. Even worse is that the company will not give a refund on the basis that it is a medical product- seems they are the only company to do this. Therefore they are somehow allowed to produce a product that doesn't have to be responsible for the poor quality product, or customer satisfaction- not too many companies can get away with that.
Has anyone else had this experience with Omron products?
The thing is Omron has these new looking devices. The devices you want are the older products which are built tougher and without flash.
I would suggest googling TENS MACHINE PHYSIO DIGI TENS or TENS...
Got my TENS machine (Omron) from chemist warehouse and it is one of the best buys I've made. Omron makes equipment for many medical purposes, you'll probably find the blood pressure machine at your do...
Read morectors is an Omron as with many other devices used in the medical field. They even manufacture electric tooth-brushes for Colgate. They have a very good name in the health industry. Sadly you have not addressed your concerns over the product, simply bad-mouthed the company. I'm guessing you probably had the settings too high (which can be unpleasant for some) or just didn't read the instructions. I use it often on my lumbar spine and it gives incredible relief after 2 15 minute sessions, also on my shoulders. I've just started using it on my father for rheumatism and bursitis. He was amazed how quickly it gave him relief!Does anyone know where you can get replacement pads? Mine are loosing their adhesiveness
If you google "Tens machine replacement pads" it brings up lots of places you can purchase them. Not sure if you can buy them at the local chemist. It depends on which machine you have. Mine is an ...

I am not a doctor so I can not answer your first question. The Aldi one is very basic but it did the job of making muscle pain less very well. I now use one which cost a bit more ( $100.--) which does...

I'm 70 and bone doesn't heal as well. What do you recommend ? Thanks, Peter
I am not a doctor so my answer has to be read as such. The tens machine is not a cure so probably will not help you bending. However there is a good chance it will give you (some) pain relief and if i...

I have a pro tens machine and I can't buy replacement pads does anyone know where I can get these?
Your local chemist should have them. If not, they are available through Ebay for about $ 4.00 each for the basic ones. They are available in all forms and types.
I guess it depends on where you live Tristy. We bought ours online so can order through the website. Our chemists and hone care organisations also have them. If you type the brand you have + the area ...

I ask this question because I have had massages done due to chronic pain with my lower back and the massage therapist avoided certain treatments and areas where the cyst and nodules are as well as corresponding pressure points etc.
I do not know, I am a user of this device and not a medical expert. Consulting your docter is the best way to find out
