We went from a GXL prado to a 200 series Landcruiser to gain the extra boot space as we have 5 children.
Very disappointed, the 2016 gxl has none of the features of the gxls before it, no sterring wheel controls, no heater in the back for the kids and no reversing snesors.

Purchased this 4WD as a tow wagon for an Off Road Caravan. Also has to serve as a weekend adventure picnic transport and week day commuter. Pulls the 3T van at the legal speed (100KPH) on highways with no problem. Very comfortable, all the whistles and bells. Just cruises along. When things get off road and interesting again just pick a line and ease along. Broken tracks, ruts, uphill, mud, rocky down hill just pick a mode and ease on. I purchased my Sahara in February 2016 at the first service I complained about a vibration at 100 klm speed on the freeway with a slight incline the dealer told me to drive the vehicle till the next service and hopefully it will disappear. June 2016: Seats not overly comfortable and vehicle bit noisier than expected. Doesn't compare favourably with previous Prado Grande. Radar cruise control (with no lead vehicle) does not behave the same as normal cruise control even though Toyota says it does! Missing some great suspension options available on Prado - overall disappointing.
October 2016: update 10,000 km later, with 3,000 of those pulling a nearly-3 tonne caravan.

Have just purchased my fourth 200 series having had 2 GXLs now 2nd Sahara and the first 3 no matter how much i complained about them not holding in 6 as a lot of people have there is no doubt the problem has been solved maybe by the little extra power they gave them, but just back from ADL all the hills over and back it definitely held on in 6th as much as down to 1300 revs before it changed, a lot of people have talked about torque converters but in the 2016 model there is no problem,Toyota even gave me a printout on how to solve it on the ear...Read more

This is an excellent GXL 2015 diesel car except not having an automatic retractable mirror for parking it in my garage which is too narrow when the 2 mirrors are unretracted. The question is that can these 2 mirrors be retractable later or a year later? It seems toyota is not interested but may be an oem is willing to add this automatic retractable mirror. What do I do? Please, let me know.

This car is a 3.5 tonne beast. It is very smooth to drive in most situations, with power that just keeps on going. There is one minor exception. Slow driving uphill will occasionally cause a gearbox clunk. Nothing too concerning, but a little annoying as you may spill your latte when dropping off the kids.

This is my 4th Cruiser (1 used, 3 New) & I love it as the truck it is. Heaps of power, great torque, comfortable to drive but..... Each upgrade gets dearer & dearer, this last GXL set me back $95k. Then, only on the drive home did it dawn on me..... There's no steering wheel audio controls.!!!!! There was in the previous GXL!

Best vehicle I have ever owned, I use to own a GU Patrol and can't believe i'm saying it but it well and truly beats it hands down. Just brought it brand new and everything is mint. It would have to be the quietest vehicle I have driven in. The leather seats would have to be the most comfortable we have sat in.
