Good
It is a nice car to drive and gets good mileage, the seats are comfortable and it has plenty of leg room, the sir Con' works very well.
An update on this car --from the 1/2/11 and what I said about not being able to turn down the control panel lights of a night (speedo etc) I have since found that you ARE able to do this by pressing the Odometer button till the lines come up and do it that way.
Still not happy that it doesn't have a rear wiper and washer nor does it have cruise control and that the Cig' light for use with GPS etc is in a very bad position, very close to the hand brake and gear change

After driving a Honda Accord Euro for a number of years, I must say my husband & I are very pleased with our Yaris purchase. Firstly, although a smaller car compared to the Honda Euro, the Yaris gives the illusion of space for a few reasons: seats are not bucket-style & importantly, the lack of the hump in the middle of the back passenger leg space. The passenger sitting in the middle need not have the feet wide-apart! Also, bags & stuff can fit easily on the floor. This is useful if you have kids / babies. Back seats can be folded down -...Read more
useful when larger items can't fit into the boot. Boot space is immense for the car size, we can fit the same things into the Yaris as we can into the Euro. Car looks sleek if you have the X series that comes with rear spoilers. Ample legroom for back passengers. Ample drink holders. Ample boot space. Solid feel to car. Fuel efficient. Looks good. Backseats can be collapsed Odometer panel in the middle rather than in front of the driver. Key required to open boot from the outside

Bad
Lots of people here seem to love this car, so maybe I just had a bad experience, but I found the Yaris aweful to drive. We were pretty much sold on getting this car until we actually drove it and felt sick afterwards. Maybe this was because we're quite tall, so the angle of the windscreen seemed to distort things. This was the same both as a passenger and the driver. I've never had this trouble in any other car.
Just be careful with the poor rear visability - you won't be able to see littlies if they're behind the car.
Price & inclusions (mirrors, headrests, full lap-sash seatbelts in the back etc.)
Feels cheap, annoying dashboard placement, poor rear visability

Excellent
I am a proud owner of a Toyota Yaris and have been for the last 8 months. I like the sedan look of the Yaris compared to other car models. Although it looks like a small car on the outside, the interior is quite spacious. With electric windows and mirrors, it is a good car all rounder.
Nice and sleek exterior. Clean and modern interior. Smooth drive. Electric windows
Odometer and control panel in the middle of the dashboard

Bad
The car i drove had a lot of noise come through the cabin, so that is something that needs to be worked on. Its also rather cramped on the inside (the seats feel too small even for an average sized person like myself). Considering it has a 1.5L engine i was suprised at how bad the fuel economy was even on the long country drive i took. The cabin is dull, boring and counterintuitive. THe mid dash speedo is just wrong and could lead to many crashes.
Go for the far better alternatives like the Ford Fiesta, Mazda 2 or Citroen C2, among others.
I cant really think of any to be honest.
It costs more than cars that it competes agaisnt in the same market bracket. It looks very odd and quite ugly especially from the front / side views.

I drive my Yaris every day for at least and hour and have had it now for over a year - I have not had a problem with it! It is reliable, smooth to drive, compact yet spacious and very comfortable in all seat positions (not squishy in the back!). Great features like independently locked boot and lots of little storage compartments - Fantastic Vehicle for singles and small families alike!!!
I love my 2007 Toyota Yaris Sedan! It is a very practical, yet stylish small/medium sized car with all the essentials to make your journey comfortable and easy.
Not much wrong with it! For the price, it has just about everything you would expect.

OK
Overall this car is pretty good, wouldn't highly recommend it but for the price, etc, you get a nice looking, modern car. You get use to the dashboard being in the middle and it feels lovely to drive and is easy to manouvre.
I think it is a nice looking car, reasonably shaped and very roomy inside for younger kids and a fantastic big boot.
The tyres! My car is a 2007 model and I have had to buy a number of new tyres for it. Toyota told me there was nothing wrong with the car just that the Yaris is very hard on the tyres. The fuel economy isn't as good as I'd hoped.

OK
I got this car just before starting uni so as to have reliable cheap transport for at least 4 years.
Finished my degree and still have the car. It didn't start once on a hot day, I waited a couple of minutes and it was fine. No other issues.
I've travelled 90000 km in this car and will have it at least a year longer. Doesn't feel like it's about to stop working.
At the end of the day, it's just a car, nothing exciting it doesn't make you feel special, it just works.
For me this car has served its purpose but I want something with some sou...Read more

Good
We were looking for a good-looking car under $20,000 with good safety features for our growing family, and the Yaris sedan ticked the most important boxes. It's an excellent city car and is easy to park, but visibility out the rear window is bad and you can't see the nose of the car because it's too low, so you have to be very very aware of your surroundings.
We had to drive on the highway and the petrol gauge suddenly plummeted to empty and we had to hunt down a petrol station quickly. That's what you get with a 1.5L engine, I suppose.

I love the space age shape of this car, which is probably the main reason I bought it. It is very spacious inside despite being small and easy to park. The floor at the back does not have a bump in it, so you can fit more stuff in it and it is comfortable for the feet of the person in the middle at the back. The radio and CD player is positioned high up so you're not in danger of crashing while fiddling with it. The car holds the road well when driving on narrow winding roads. My only criticism is that it needs a camera for reversing because you can't see what is behind you.
It is comfortable and drives really well.
Visibility for reversing is not good because the rear windowsill is very high.

All in all, It does the job, getting me from point A to point B safely.Perfect for a family or in my case, for me alone.
I like the size, it's perfect, not too small and not too big. It's very smooth and accelerates fast.It looks good and even better, it drives good!
It doesn't have a beeper so you cannot hear if you are backing into something.
