These guys are absolutely terrible.
What sort of company will allow their client to give verbal authority to their family and friends but not a financial adviser?
That doesn't make any sense to me, a financial adviser is the most qualified to deal with super and yet you allow family and friends access but not a FA.

Terrible! Steer clear of them
We have been dealing with TWU since the passing of my late father earlier this year. We have been trying to get his super paid out and it has been a nightmare from the start. The claims department are unhelpful and incompetent. I was told by one staff member we needed to obtain a document from the coroners court (which was confirmed by the coroners court to not exist) because the cause of the death of the death certificate from Births Deaths and marriages was not sufficient. xplain but its for legal reasons'. Pardon? The official cause of death on the death certificate is not sufficient and you cannot even explain to me why this isnt sufficient? You've got to be kidding. My sister, as executor of the estate could not be given the account balance over the phone for 'privacy reasons' even after all identity details (hers and my fathers) were confirmed. I called to see whether they finally had all the documentation they needed to continue processing the claim and was also told they could see my paperwork but for privacy reasons couldnt tell me whether they had received the other form from my sister. After sending a complaint via email I spoke with a case manager who was lovely and had confirmed that on multiple occasions I had been given the wrong information by their claims department. Absolute joke - the amount of time and energy I have wasted trying to sort this out all due to their complete lack of competence and professionalism has been astounding. Not to mention their lack of compassion too regarding the entire situation. Do not use these people.

Excessive fees, bad service.
Been with TWUSUPER (Pension) for 8 years. Recently had the necessity to redraw, took 6 working days to receive the transfer (my money dont forget) and 7 days to receive my requested "Centrelink Income Stream" bloody disgrace..Moving asap..

Absolute Criminals
Despite contributing every week for years, the amount in the account does not even remotely equate to the contributions made by my employer. No doubt the unions have made a backhand deal to force everyone onto the TWU super to avoid them having to protect their members should there be a need for a strike or conflict of any sort. Sure I called them, they said to take it up with my employer and have them change the account details so they can then transfer the money paid to this zombie account that they created, they transferred only $650. its absolutely laughable. if you join with this mob then you don't care about your future, simple as that. Also I would recommend that you check frequently that money is actually going in, it is your money after all. I would give a zero rating if it was allowed.Similar opinion? My employer automatically put me in this even though I nominated another super. Very quickly their fees started draining my super, and they even tried to charge me around 400 each month for 'being a member' which I never signed up for in the first place. When I left and withdrew my super into the original fund I nominated I was sent a 10~ page document explaining all of their fees. They stole roughly 1 grand in under a year. This place is designed purely to take money from the average worker. Avoid at all costs.

Stole money from me
TWU super are the most dishonest company I’ve ever known. Blatantly stole money from my existing super account by not transferring the remaining quantity, even after multiple attempts at trying t transfer the funds. Without a doubt the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

The worst superfund you could ever get into
I was a member of this TWU super for approximately 14 years,It was brutal
I was bullied as an employee of a logistics company when I wanted to leave and join another industry fund
it's because the union has a financial benefit in keeping their union members in this fund
when I finally got to leave 14 years later they swiped $6000 out of my super pool. Just for leaving.
I know some of the union officials receive a financial benefit sitting on the Board of Directors of the super fund
union officials who wouldn't be sober for much of the day, running a billion-dollar organisation
if you really want to get into a industry superannuation scheme, tryout LCRF
at least they are a little bit professional

They'll take your money
I did five days work for a transport company I nominated my own super but they still used TWU SUPER $160 went in their super within a month the money was gone .I Rang them they are rude and unhelpful.

Have been waiting close to 2 months for a death benefit claim I was told that I just had to wait and stop ringing!! Really? TWU super are very unprofessional and terrible customer service would not recommend

Stole money from me.
I had a super account with twu last year because it was obligatory with the company I worked for. This year I instructed my main super company to retrieve my funds from twu so I could consolidate. There were no funds. Twu had taken all of my money for fees & insurance. I had not asked for insurance nor had I authorised my money to be used for it. They told me it is the law unless I "opt out". They are a disgrace. Do not use them.

Worst experience and customer service in AUSTRALIA
Member of the union and super. Every time I call, customer service is disgusting. As union, they do slack off with everything, also not very supportive. Very disappointing experience in overall. You better of going for different SUPER and union as well.

Where's my money
10th of October 2016 checked account balance with TWUSUPER. 9th January 2017 more than $800 less in 3 months. Closing my account now.
October 9th 2017 Update: Do yourself a favor, close your account now.
Administrating 2 accounts in the same name and tax file number, correspondence for only one account. Doubling up on fees and INSURANCE each year without disclosing it. Then when challenged, pleading ignorance and refusing to negotiate with the return of monies they are not entitled to, is insulting to one's intelligence. Super funds think they have a licence to print their own money.

I was employed during 2008. And TWU was the fund that was used. I left the funds in TWU believing it to be an investment. At one point in time I queeried that the investment was not doing well and a crash was sited as the feason. This year I checked . The amount is diminnished. The reason of course is fees for 'life insurance'. I have no dependants. I did not know I was paying life insurance. I gave the name of my employer but the person I spoke to did not have the name of my employer. I will pursue this . Who will join me!

Very poor customer service
All employees in our place of work were forced to join this super fund due to a national workplace agreement. It has been 4 months since we were moved to this super fund, and nobody has received any details yet of their new super accounts, and no contact made by TWU super with information. If we weren't forced to join it, I would definitely be moving to a different super fund.

The Worst Experience Ever!
There are no words to describe the stress and aggravation I am going through to try and get money paid out which I'm entitled to. It has taken well over a month, and still going, for them to process my application all the while they continue to charge daily fees which is eating away my modest balance. Customer service is unhelpful, rude and arrogant! They keep coming back with questions that I have already answered. No one can be that incompetent! I'm convinced they do this deliberately, so they can suck up all my money in fees!

Very disappointed in trying to withdraw my super on retirement.
I'm getting the impression that someone is not doing his/her job efficiently. Still waiting. Last communication from them was on Friday and I'm told it will take 24 hours until the money is in my account.
