This is perfect
4 cameras work better than my 2 hard drive systems. On 24/7; 240 volt & never changed the battery. I would have another 4 camera 2720 if I could aford it.
Purchased in June 2021 at Harvey Norman Retail Stores - Appliances for A$400.00.

Waste of Money - Very Unreliable Product
I have this system with four external cameras. The two cameras mounted the greatest distance from the monitor have operated with the least problems. The other two cameras, which are mounted much closer to the monitor, constantly lose signal requiring their power supply to be turned off / on again to regain signal. My next door neighbour has the same system and is experiencing the same problems. Neither of us would recommend this (nor any other Uniden) product to anyone based on our experience and the lack of support offered to address these issues.
Purchased in February 2021.

Average to below average quality.
This system needs to be plugged into the 240 volt mains all the time as the tiny battery in the receiver /monitor doesn't last long at all.
Eventually the receiver/monitor died rendering the whole system useless. I think it may have been the battery but I am not sure.
While it was working it was an average system for security as the motion detection on high records almost constantly and on low can miss a person walking in front of the camera. A variable dial or maybe at least a medium setting would have been useful.
Purchased in June 2021 at Officeworks Physical store for A$600.00.

Very poor picture quality
I have been using and putting up with this camera system for a few years.
When you try to connect via the app it is hit and miss some times it will connect and other times it wont.
The cameras are not that far away from the base station and still I have trouble gaining a stable connection when I rang uniden head office they told me that that is because of the walls and that it is an old system, even though the cameras are only 5 or so meters away and only 1 wall.
The picture is very grainy and you cant make out what a number plate is or what a person's face looks like when they are walking.
Called uniden head office and was told the new ones are a lot better that is the type of camera it is.
Very poor.

Record file error issued fixed
If you are getting a 'Record file error' message coming up on your monitor it's because you need to install a Sandisk 32GB High Endurance SD Card ($26- on eBay) instead of anything else you may have installed. I'm a technician & have installed nearly 50 of these Uniden Guardian G Series CCTV Surveillance Systems & they are quite good quality considering their price.

quiet well. You need to use a Sandisk 32GB High Endurance (10) SD Card for the system to work well otherwise you will get a 'record file error' message. These SD cards are only $26- on eBay. Also I have found it good practice to silicon the inlet at the rear of each camera where the cable enters the housing to stop it being affected by UV from the sun if located externally.Similar opinion? Little bit disappointed!
Bought this unit recently which has 4 camera. cameras will communicate to the main unit as soon as you turn them on, so no configuration is required, which is cool. it can record video on a SD card and can support up to 32GB SD card. the only down side is that these series do not support overwrite video function on SD card (using the latest firmware V-A2.4.5-50hz) which is a big design issue (you will need to format the SD card every few days!!!). contacted with customer support about this. Apparently in the previous firmware version (V A2.2.8-...Read more
50Hz) overwrote support was active but there was a "video record error" message, appearing on the screen constantly. They resolved the issue by removing the overwrite function. I have not tested the app to see it will connect to iPhone/iPad remotely. Will update soon.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I have a Uniden Model G2740 security camera. Last night for no reason camera 1 has gone black on the monitor and there is no red light on camera.
Have tried rebooting but still does not come back on.
Has this camera died and if so can a replacement be bought?
Other than that the security is working fine

Monitor wont remain on either when docked or directly DC connected to monitor. Also, as per previous question from Beej the battery bloated forcing back of monitor back out. Is there anyway to fix this .... connect direct bypass monitor .... replace battery (and if so will this rectify the issue, where can I purchase a replacement battery) ... use alternative monitor ... or make it work any other way?
