Success with UniMom
I've found UniMom to be a very effective pump and have great success with it. I had alot of difficulty expressing and had actually tried two other model pumps before a friend recommended UniMom to me. I was not able to express a drop with the other models which was really disheartening and I thought I was never going to be able to express. But, with this pump Ive had success every time, its fantastic. Its got a massage function which last for about 5 minutes which I find very relaxing and helps the let down. The suction then kicks in itself so ...Read more
you can basically sit back and relax. There are 8 suction strenghts which allow for the use of the double pump. I find following the recommeded strengths, the suction is not to strong but strong enough to get a good flow. Its easy to use and assemble also. Amazing results from this pump!
This pump is amazing. I had another pump initially (meant to be a leading brand of pump) that was a disaster - it was painful to use, made a lot of noise and pumped only a tiny amount of milk. The Unimom Allegro pump arrived this week and has been incredible. I have been pumping around 5-6 times the amount of milk I was with the previous pump, it is much quieter and very comfortable to use. It seems to mimic breastfeeding very closely (with the massage function and the intermittent breaks in pumping which mimic how baby feeds), which is great. ...Read more
I think it has really helped increase my milk supply already. Pumping has gone from being very stressful and painful to very quick and comfortable. I would highly recommend it to any breastfeeding mother!!! price, ease of use, functionality, service from Unimom supplier (good advice without doing hard sell - clearly wants to sell you the best product, rather than the most expensive)

Fast & Affordable
As a first time mum I was really overwhelmed by the world of breastfeeding & pumps, and especially over whether to go manual (too slow? hard work?) or electric (too pricey? painful?). The Allegro# solved my dilemma as it is an affordable electric pump with the ability to express both boobs at once if you get the extra shield kit. Plus when I ordered it I was sent a free Unimom Mezzo manual pump also, which I've used heaps and was a great 'stepping stone' before going electric as I was nervous! You can also get an inexpensive 'switch kit' to mak...Read more
e the pump manual anyway. Thus, my problems were solved for under $140, which is way cheaper than buying Avent or Medela double electric pumps. It's fast (I reckon 3 or 4 times faster than manual pumping) and comfortable. You can choose the setting so you are comfy and feel in control. It didn't come with instructions, although the picture on the box and a bit of common sense made it pretty easy to put together.1 comment

An absolute must have
As a first time mother I hadn't much of an idea as to what I required in a breast pump. Something that worked most of all, something small, portable, quick, easy to use, clean and assemble. The Allegro is all the above. It was also fairly affordable. I am thoroughly pleased with it's performance as I rely on it constantly.
Small and portable, fairly quiet and reliable. Easy to clean and assemble. Didn't brake the bank as some will.
The valve that releases the milk into the bottle sometimes sticks and the milk builds up which can then be sucked back into the pump hose which is a pain but you can usually anticipate that and avoid it.

Best on the market
I love this product and every other product by unimom.
Great products and great service. Unbeatable prices . You dont need stress when your breast feeding and you wont get it here. It helped my milk supply when my daughter was having heart surgery at eight weeks old. Its very affordable and more hygenic tha buying a pre used medela.
Dual phase technology without the price tag.

Portable electric pumping like no other - fantastic.
This is the second unimom breast pump that I own.
I started with the hospital grade model but found when I returned to work I needed a
More portable option.
This breast pump is fantastic. It has a unique sucking pattern - dual stage expression like the medela brand but with the added benefit of back flow protection.
It works just as good from the battery option as when in is plugged into power mains and it very quiet so I am able to pump away without everyone knowing.
My baby just loves the unimom bottles - in fact I had to go back and purchase more. ...Read more

Problems right from the start
The Unimom Allegro gave me problems right from the start. It has a very strong pull action which I found quite painful when I used the pump regularly. Then, less than a month after I started using it the motor started to cause the pump to seize up and pull my nipple into it. This was very painful and happened repeatedly every minute or two, making the pump useless. The only way to fix it was to stop the motor, release nipple and start again, only to repeat the experience a few minutes later.
Cheap compared to other pumps
Motor is not up to the task

Brilliant for work!
I'd already bought another breast pump before returning to work, the Unimom Forte. While the Forte was great for pumping it wasn't portable. So I was overjoyed when I saw that Unimom had a portable electric breast pump on the market! I'd found my other Unimom pump very reliable so I didn't hesitate in buying this model. Best decision EVER. It's incredibly light and takes up very little space so it's really easy to cart to and from work. It's quiet and has adjustable pump settings. It took my boobs a bit of time to get used to the rhythm of the ...Read more
pump, which is different to the Forte, but now I easily let-down and get heaps of milk while pumping. Like the Forte it's really easy to put together, take apart and wash the breast shields. I also bought the cooler bag, which includes 5 BPA free bottles, for transporting the milk. The Unimom Allegro is great value for money and I highly recommend it to any working, breast-feeding mum. reliable, inexpensive, portable, light, small, great value for moneySimilar opinion? Easy to use.
I had not used a breastpump previous to this and was nervous about trying. I am using the pump to give my baby only 3 bottle feeds a week but have been using it everyday.
I've found it very easy to use and particularly like that there are different levels which can easily be adjusted.
The price was a large incentive in buying this pump as I had previously been looking at purchasing a medula swing which was more expensive.
I am very happy with this pump and would happily recommend it to others.
Easy to use, lightweight and small, great value for money

Great pump, very good value
Unimom allegro breast pump exceeded my expectations. Having previously used a manual pump I was surprised how easy to use this electric pump was. Other brands available seem to have many cons when reading reviews, but honestly I can't think of any for this one thus far. It was good value for money at just over $100, making the product much cheaper than others on the market and very easy to use. It's quick, easy to clean, has good storage options for expressed milk (bottle or disposable storage bags). I used it for the first time a few nights ou...Read more

Better than others I have tried
I got this pump as a present from my mum as I have to give back the medela pump I have been using witch by the way has been great.I am happy to say since using the allegro I been finding I am getting more milk to each pump because of the way this pump works it pumps the way a baby sucks it's fantastic. As I have gone back to work it's so easy and portable and quiet and so easy to use with the memory it keep your favourite suction level so all you have to do is turn it on and off you go.ladies if you want a great pump for a reasonable price this is the way to go

Great Little Pump!
I purchased this pump based on the few reviews online and I must say it has performed excellently!
In hospital I had expressed using the Medela Symphony, and I am happier with the pumping action of the Unimom Allegro. It is comfortable but effective. After experiencing grazed and cracked nipples from poor attachment, I really wanted to express my baby's feeds until the skin had healed. I found I could quickly express the required amount of milk within 15 minutes.
I am more than happy with this pump and will recommend it to my pregnant friends.
Comfortable but effective action; compact; double pumping action; easy to use; easy to clean; less expensive; Mains or battery operation
No problems!

Excellent Pump
After reading various reviews on the standard products offered by Phillips and Medela (amongst others), I stumbled up on the rave reviews for the Unimom Allegro. And subsequent attractive pricing in comparison to the alternatives.
The Allegro is a great little pump. It mimics the babies suction pattern, and the strength can be increased between a range of 1-7 (light->stronger) depending on the level that works best for the individual. Having been told by fellow mothers that expressing may not be easy to do initially, I was expecting multi...Read more

Fantastic little pump!
I started using a breast pump borrowed from the hospital, and assumed that any pump I bought wouldn't be quite as good, but this little pump is great. It's comfortable and has plenty of options on suction strength and pump rate (the stronger suction has a slower 'pull', and v.v.) so it can be adjusted to suit. It's also very small, light & portable, which is great for me because I need to take it to work and I don't want to be dragging around a big, bulky unit. I haven't tried to double pump with it, but it's set up for this if you prefer pumping both sides together. And at this price, you can't go wrong. I couldn't be happier with it!
Comfortable to use, plenty of setting options, very cost effective

Better than my previous Avent and Medela
This was given to me at my baby shower and I was a bit hesitant to use it as I already had a previously well used Medela Swing from my last baby and had also tried the Avent.
I am so glad that I did give this a go. It is by far the best pump I have ever used and it was so comfortable.
I find I experienced no pain as I had from my Avent and the Allegro was far stronger and more quiet then my Medela (which I have since sold)
It was a gift, however I am lead to believe it is not expensive.
I don't usually spend time writing reviews as with 2 c...Read more

Perfect for on the go
I purchased this breast pump after using the Unimom Forte as I needed a portable option for expressing on a flight.
I could not believe how well it performed.
The pump runs on power mains however has the option of also running on 4 x AA batteries which I utilised when in the air, and surprisingly this did not compromise on performance in any way.
This pump is sold as a single pump however I purchased the additional shield kit to use as a double pump and it still worked fantastic.
It is quiet and has 7 level settings and an electronic displa...Read more

Questions & Answers
Kira Sasked
Hi does medela parts fit unimom pumps also what is the best site to get parts from that is reasonably priced?
1 answer
Eileen O.Unimom
Hi Kira,
Unimom breast shield kits have backflow protectors (aka closed system). They have a physical barrier or membrane (NB: not filter) to prevent any breastmilk or micro vapour from entering the tubing and into the breast pump motor. This ensures hygienic expression of breastmilk and prevents mold from growing in the tubing or motor.
Using any other brand shield kits that do not have a back flow protector (aka open system) can result in mold in the tubings and/or pump, and/or cause failure of the unit. This would also void all warranty on your Unimom breast pump.
Depending on where you are located, you can purchase your Unimom breast shield kits and parts from our website or any authorised retailers listed below:

Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of any assistance.

The Unimom Allegro# includes one 24mm Breast Shield Kit and one 22mm Silicone Massager. Usage of the Silicone Massager is optional, but in your case, it might help attain a better fit and improve pumping efficiency.
Hope the above helps. Please feel free to give us a call or drop us an E-mail (via our website) if you have any enquiries or require assistance.
