I have found when I buy the VIP dog rolls from numerous Woolworths stores, they r quite mushy and watery and when I buy from Coles, the texture is as it should be. They do feel quite 'grainy', like a lot of crushed bone through it and also not as many vegetables as there used to be in them. My dog is a guts though and she still eats it, but to me the quality of the product has slipped.
Since feeding my dog, VIP Mega Bite, with prime beef, my dog has been very sick. I fed him approx 800g, he left some. Since then his been sick. Introduced him back to it and turned his nose up at it. Not good for him and not good for an owner to see him like this so miserable.
Well i have a photo dont know how to upload it but tonight cutting up my 3 dogs dinners i came a across some white looking skin looking thing in the middle of the roll no idea what it is was but had me scratching my head.. a while back now same thing giving the girls dinner and i found plastic in the middle of the roll stupid me didnt get a pic but again i was like hmmm ahhh ?

This company is now Chinese owned and the formula has changed. Who knows what they put in it. Buy Prime 100 they are 100% Australian made and owned. When you cut the Prime 100 rolls up they smell so good and fresh like you want to eat it yourself. Better than this muck.

I once purchased only VIP dog rolls. But lately they have all been soft and mushy and I threw the last one out. Although the dogs still eat it I will not purchase this product again.

I agree in past 3 months the VIP 3kg chicken roll is like glue, no visable meat or vegetable in roll. Texture has changed unable to cut it cleanly

My mum's dog is very fussy with what she eats and the VIP roll actually makes her want to eat.
The chicken one is her favorite.

Since start of Oct 2017 the 3kg VIP Chicken roll is quite mushy and my dog wont eat much of it. It seems to be the rolls that have a use by date of January 2018 which is stamped in a dark bold print. Hope there's an answer for it.
Got a roll yesterday and it the same as Coles it’s gone to crap he won’t eat it what have you done to it
My dog doesn't eat any canned foods but she really likes this and she always wants more, I've been giving this to my dog for about 2-3 weeks and have been giving my other dog this for a long time.

Dog roll quality has deteriorated.Last few rolls have had lots of crushed bone. After using them for years, will no longer as this is a consistent pattern. Was great until new owners arrived.

I really like V.I.P dog foods. But find the rolls are very mushy and watery. Whereas the canned versions are really good, and knowing the quality is seen in the evidence of the stools. If the roll had more veg / roughage and less water I would reconsider as another option.

I have found this product one great that my fussy dog will eat. It keeps well in the Meat compartment in my fridge at home.
We have been using VIP chicken roll for about 5 years. The current roll is giving both my dogs runny poo nothing else has changed in their diet.
When you cut it it's like mush and has a lot of excess liquid in it we are changing after it gone.
Paying good money for a now poor product.
In my opinion.

I phoned VIP when doing my research on their product, only to find that they have been taken over by " Real Pet Food Company". Their factory outlet has moved, but still in Yatala, Qld. Just bought a roll of VIP / Nature's Goodness grain free roll with the duck, thought it would be handy for camping. Dogs loved it, no smell or yuck looking ingredients. Quite surprised from the comments as VIP has always had a good name, maybe the recent change over is the cause??? I'll keep using it for now and will be returning it to the Factory outlet if I come across any stink, ooze or feathers etc!!

I have been buying this for years as my dog is allergic to grains...the last few rolls have been disgusting...smelly, liquid oozing out and where have the carrots gone??? So disappointed :( may have to go raw...to accompany kibble rather than feed this to my dogs...
Really stinks don't know why. I've had other dog food like 4 legs... no issues what so ever. VIP WAKE UP

My dogs have been eating this for a few years and loved it. Over the past year it's hit and miss with freshness. My god the smell is so rotten I have to throw it. No more for me as I think I've wasted well over $100 throwing out the bad ones.
I bought a roll of this sausage from my local Coles store and when i opened it up 4 days later it was spongey and smelly liquid was seeping out. The sausage smells rancid and I'm not sure i can even give this to my dog. My dog has a sensitive stomach and the last thing i need is for her to have diarrhea for days on end. Won't be buying this again.

Our Golden Retriever loves this product. We have never found it "slimey, gooey or smelly". Never found nails, feathers etc in our rolls. Might rethink things if we were to find these types of things but we will continue to buy this product without question. I am wondering where the others buy their product from? Ours is from IGA Tasmania
My dog's usual dog roll was out of stock at the supermarket so I thought I would try this. After a couple of days of this he had THE WORST case of violent diarrohea ever. Crap from one end of my house to the other which, even though I stopped feeding it to him, continued for 2-3 days after and the smell ... OMG made me vomit ... literally. Never again will I give him this. Will give him can food if the supermarket runs out of his usual brand.

This is the first time I've reviewed a product as I'm absolutely disgusted by the quality of this pet food and wouldn't want anyone to make the same mistake of buying this!! I would not recommend this to anyone. The only reason I bought this was because I thought I'd try and give my dogs something different to their regular food.
Upon cutting the food up, I noticed that the roll was very grainy. As I continued to cut it up and put the diced food into containers, I saw chicken nails, very visible feathers, and irregular sharp segments. I tried ...

I have been buying the many different varieties of the VIP dog roll for ten years. We generally buy at least two rolls a week and go through it quickly. All my dogs have loved them and never got sick. They have never smelt or gone off unless they are left out of the fridge. I have never found feathers or anything else foreign. Nor had any excess water issues. Sometimes I see lots of veges, sometimes not. Occasionally, my outside fridge partially freezes the roll - no issue - just a bit of ice crystals. The only negative I would say is the puppy...
Read more roll has got smaller and when you have more than one puppy, it doesn't go far. But then so has everything you buy.............. From all the negative comments, I would say you are very unlucky or I would be questioning how the store has handled it and if it got frozen at some stage or too warm. .......Other Dog Foods
