Can you use generic bags with this or do you have to purchase only ones that suit this brand?

We have a Provac Alivac 1 and has been working great up until now, it looks like it has a section of the sealing coil gone as it leaves a small section not sealed. Is there a parts supplier for these machines?

Best thing to do is contact the local retailer who sold it to you, they should be able to put you in contact with your local repairer or distributor for the brand in order to get that part. That being said, these items are generally a replacement under their warranty - so there is no guarantee that there will be parts available.

I bought this vacuum sealer and the first 5 bags are vacuumed and sealed perfectly then it doesn't vacuum. I have to wait for a while to do another 5 and so on. It's this normal?

It does say to wait between vacuums, I assume this is so it does not overheat. Not sure how long you are waiting, but a minute between vacuums is what is suggested. When I use mine I normally have about 6 or seven bags to do. I have noticed it takes longer if I am doing many. I try and wait between vacuums as this is not a commercial product. I would say it is a safety feature so you do not overload the motor. I label the vacuum bags with content and date as I am waiting for it to cool down. Hope this helps.

I'd send it back, I did a lot more than this with my machine. We sealed 250kg of beef with this machine and the original sunbeam sealer. Giving both a break now and then, but they were in constant use for four hours. Only problem I had was if there was too much space in a bag the VacPro wouldn't suck the air out properly, so I used the sunbeam. The VacPro outlasts the sunbeam though.

Mine does the same waste of money .Had a Unika lasted me forever finally died could work non stop. The vac pro does one or two bahs then starts sealing early and does not get all air out
