Do you have hills at your place Adrian? I had this issue, for me it was because I have hills, oil was flowing back somwhere (crankcase maybe??) making the motor almost stuck. Lift the hood, turn the top of the motor by hand. When its a bit more free give it a crack and if this is the issue, it will fire up.

We have no industrial supply shops nearby, if I want to buy a belt on EBay, what is the code for the blade drive belt?

The genuine cutter belt costs $80. The generic B86 Vee belt costs $29.90 and is thicker and lasts longer. Try gaspares.com.au (part number B86)

How do we get the mower to cut in reverse ??

Hi
If the cutter operation is selected, the blades should cut in both directions provided the throttle is on full.
The drive/cutter pulley only rotates in one direction.
My VXR has no option to stop reverse cutting as the Husquara option on TS 246.

If there's a little orange button on the dash near the ignition switch you have the reverse mowing "safety" version. You have to press (and hold?) the button before pressing the reverse pedal if you want to keep the mower blades going in reverse.

You should get a battery charger with the mower. Is the battery flat? Does the engine turn over when you turn the key?

Hi
If floor stock, return to dealer for warranty cover. They do have a issue restart after getting hot,but retry after 20mins.
I just rebuild the engine for non start issue.

Where are the greasing points?

Haven't worked on one for a while ( thank God ).
If they put any grease nipples in there should be one on the inside of each front wheel and one on each steering pin.
The blade spindles should have on each on the underside
However bottom end mowers oft leave them out because they cost $ 1 or so to put in.
Get a can of dry Lithium chassis grease and spray the steering shaft where it passes through the lower bush, the steering gear and the steering fan gear.
Then everywhere that a shaft which moves passes through a hole or support .
The linkages for deck hanger
The pivot point of the front steering beam
remove the back wheel and do all the linkages on the transmission plus the axel ( I put never seize on the rear axels ) to prevent the wheels rusting solid onto them.
On the deck lube the tensioning arm.
I have a long air gun ( Bunnings have the longest ones ) which I use to blow all the dirt & debris out from under the mower and on the transmission ( this is important because the tranny is at its limit on these machines ) to keep it cool.
While you are down there, check the fan & the drive belt.
If it is any help I get around 3 mowers from a can of CRC Dry Lithium Grease ( from CBC bearings ).
Work it into the joints then leave the mower for an hour or so to allow the solvent to evaporate before you use it.
If it is any

Hi
I suggest you take the existing belt to an industrial supply company - the belt is a 'B' profile, in Victoria I used BJ bearings or similar. the replacement cost is approx.$20. the industrial supplier will measure the belt and supply Bxx(86 etc)

How do I remove and replace the drive belt? I can't work out how to get the belt off the main drive pully.

Hi
method to remove drive belt

Drive belt is on 4 pulleys

First trip the machine on 45degree angle and secure in place
remove inspection plate near steering wheel
remove idle pulley
remove small pulley
remove belt from transmission
disconnect electric clutch on drive on motor - two wires on right hand side
remove clutch and pulley - loosen bolt with impact drive 16mm socket
second person may be useful to hold the asseby
when the bolt is remove the whole assembly drops and the belt can be removed.

refit of belt

belt on the clutch/pulley assembly
refit bolt
belt on to transmission
replace small pulley
final replace idle pulley but ensure you have max clearance.
\
Belt is a B94
