I have had my Biochef for more than 10 years and I am very happy with the performance. It should not just stop unless when you washed the jug, water got onto the bottom part that connects to the engine. I was told by the supplier to be very careful when washing so as not to allow any water near the bottom part of the blender because that will damage the engine. MOU

I had a problem with a previous blender that leaked muck/oil from the underside of the jug and I had to replace the seal and whenever you submerse it make sure you put it right way up so that the water does not sit on the seal from the underside. I have never had another problem

nita.arreza
nita.arreza

I think it's best to email them and tell them about the problem so they can solve it straight away. I think Biochef Prof blender is under 10 years motor warranty and 7y on parts . I bought mine with Vitality 4 life and their customer service is pretty good. I never had problems with my blender so far.

Hi San.
Sounds like something isn't quite right there, we would definitely like to help you further. As Nita mentioned there we hold a long warranty on this product so you will definitely be able to make a claim. If you wouldn't mind sending an e-mail to [email protected] with pictures of the base where the jug sits as well as the cutting unit inside the jug and picture from underneath the jug that would be great. Someone will respond to you quickly so that we can get this rectified asap.

Can you take it apart to wash all non motor parts?

Nina
Nina

Unfortunately not. The blade twists out quite easily and I assumed that was to clean it, as food was building up in the jug and it was the only way to get it out, but I was told by the manufacturer not to remove the blade at all, so there is no way to properly clean it without voiding the warranty.

Dane
Dane

Hi Mel,

As above by Nina I would not recommend taking out the blade.

Also indicated above, sometimes a little bit of food can get stuck (generally dates or dried fruit). But, I actually just put in some detergent and some boiling water then blend for 30-60 seconds and it is totally clean, Never had an issue with that.

BioChef
Vitality L.BioChef

Hi Mel, Just to confirm what Nina and Dane have advised that the blades are not mean to be removed. The best way to clean is to use the power of the blender iteself to clean like Nina has suggested - this usually does a very good job and if ingredients were a little more stubborn then the warmer or boiling water does the trick. In most cases you just need to rinse the jug and then add in water from the tap before blending on high again with the lid on for a few seconds and then rinse again and it is very clean. Dishwash liquid is usually not even needed for standard smoothies and drinks so is also quick and easy.
The key with high powered blenders is to ensure you keep the underside of the jug dry so using this cleaning method also ensures this.
I hope this helps but if you did have any questions at any stage you can always call us on our toll free 1800 802 924 number Monday - Friday 9am-5pm NSW time,
Thanks Mel, from the BioChef Team,

I wanted to buy Biochef blender for my mum and send it overseas, buy with couple of comments about quality I am not sure between Optimum 8200 and Biochef which one I have to purchase, any recommendations?

I have no experience with the Optimum 8200 at all. I have had my Bio-chef for about 8 months now and it works well for me, apart from the initial leakage problem. The machine was replaced. The only thing is the problems with postage. Who pays for the postage in case of warranty issues as it is only available in NSW.

Wilson

Why don't you buy the optimum and try it out for the 30 day trial. If you don't like it you can post it back. They pay postage. Their customer service is excellent. I bought their juicer

Why it has contradicting specs?
3HP 1 place and another place 950 Watts ?

Hi Paul, I will run through the information for you here in two parts due to character limit on reply. If you do have any further questions please let us know via [email protected]

The Living Food Blender and the High Performance Blender use the blades and an on-board computer to detect resistance and adjust the power accordingly. This means that the motor would never need to “max out”. The maximum motor power for both of our blenders is actually much higher than the wattage listed on our website. Wattage is measured by UL Laboratory who measure wattage based on maximum required use i.e. carrot blended with water. If you’re purchasing a high speed blender to be used for making smoothies and crushing ice then you need a powerful motor.

Vitality 4 Life
Vitality L.Vitality 4 Life

This should be in the range of 2 - 3 horsepower. Blenders with this much power are designed for years of use and usually come with longer warranties. Not all blender manufacturers rate their blenders according to horsepower so it’s important to understand “wattage” and “peak” performance.Wattage is just another way to rate the power of a motor. The more wattage, the more power it has to handle heavier blending loads. However, wattage doesn’t tell the whole story. Today, blender motors are designed to draw less wattage when blending. Blender motors can now “adjust” to the blending load. In the end this means a saving on electricity and less “wear and tear” on the motor.

Vitality 4 Life
Vitality L.Vitality 4 Life

The differences between wattage and horsepower can cause confusion when comparing blenders. For example, a 3HP motor may have a rating of 950w which is a considerably low wattage. However, it simply means it only draws 950w during peak operation. In the same way, blenders that come with a 2HP motor may not require the full horsepower when blending a smoothie. This is why the term “peak” is used in regard to performance. In simple terms it refers to the maximum amount of watts or horsepower the blender will perform at. Practically speaking, it refers to the maximum power available for blending heavy ingredients or crushing ice.

I hope this helps - apologies it is across three answers but please let us know if you would like any further information. Many Thanks The Vitality4life Team

Can someone let me know what the result is when they use the Bio chef chops veges? Just considering whether I need a blender/food processor combo or just a blender. I thought a blender would just mince it all up. Thanks

Hi There, When chopping vegetables you can use the pulse function until you get the result you need so they are not over-chopped. I have made coleslaw and also really chunky salsa using this method & worked perfectly. I no longer use my food processor as find the high powered blenders function as both a blender and processor.
Hope this helps !

Hi, I am looking at purchasing this blender from my local health food shop, but on the box it is called the Bio Chef Professional Blender and it says "Heavy Duty Professional Blender' on the base on the top right hand corner. There is a burgundy coloured one which is called Maroon/ Marone on the box. Is this the same product? Is it the' Bio Chef High Performance Blender' and as it says 'Maroon', does this mean it's an older model?

I guess I'm wondering if it's the same product that has these great reviews and also if buying from a small health food shop will give me the same warranty and service?

I'd be grateful if anyone has any information on this.

Many thanks.
