Good BBQ, terrible patio cart
The BBQ works fine, although the patio cart makes it very difficult to move around without risk of damaging your back and/or feet. The location of where you lift the cart from is too far from your body and is directly above the legs of the trolley, meaning you have to do the "Weber shuffle" to move it. I have been in contact with their customer service area who said lift it higher, and that it was not meant to be moved with the gas bottle in it. Both are poor responses, as lifting it higher does not help, and selling a patio cart that houses the gas bottle which you have to remove each time you want to move it seems unrealistic. This is a fundamental design flaw, beware.
Purchased in December 2021.

Buying another one
I was given the Family Q for my 50th birthday by wife. I am a Weber fan having previously owned a 6 burner summit gold and have a Weber kettle. We use the Family Q at our caravan down the south coast of NSW. We use it on our deck for all our cooking. It is great for cooking breakfast, great for steaks and sausages and we have cooked many big roasts. It is excellent for legs of lamb, whole chickens and stuffed turkey rolls. It ignites first time and keeps its temperature well. Unfortunately, after 6 years of ownership it was stolen a few weeks ago . Very happy with the way it cooks and I am just about to get another one to replace it.
Purchased in January 2021 at Chatswood.

Awesome
Bought my Weber Family Q Premium on Boxing Day. It was without discounts but I saved on a number of accessories. I chose it after a lot of reading and talking to many people. My family is very happy with the purchase. we have been using it for over a month now almost every evening and on weekends when friends come to visit.

good product, poor response from Weber.
Bought as package with cart and what I thought had everything. Paid good money. Excellent for cooking however was disappointed that I did not get trivet in package and solid bbq plate. After purchase I completed Weber review company site did not hear a thing. Thought paying nearly $800 for package would have everything.

After Sales Customer Service Exceptional
Recently purchased my Weber Q premium, this is my second family size Weber Q, I also have a Baby Q, Weber Performer Kettle & a little go any where. I had an issue with the ink coming off the gas control knob of the Weber Q Premium and rust coming under the enamel fold out table of the kettle. I sent an email regarding both issues to Weber and received an immediate response for both issues and replacement parts being sent out in 5 working days. Special thanks to Nicole C in customer service who dealt with both of my problems. May I add I have had...Read more

Best BBQ I’ve owned yet
Purchased in January 2018... started off cooking the traditional steaks etc.... now stepped up to joints and full roast dinners. It’s very easy to use. I’ve just bought the igrill mini which takes all the guess work out of it.
I bought the natural gas version (3200).
Really easy to clean .... can’t fault it so far.

Best BBQ
I have cooked beef, pork, chicken and fish on this BBQ and each time it is perfect! It heats up quickly and is easy to clean with the brush after each use. It cooks for 4 people comfortably - including veggies. I bought the warming rack and the flat hot plate to go with it but I find I hardly use those. I do use the aluminium trays with a baking rack for the more tender meats or for those cuts which require longer cooking at lower heats. I also use some wood chips for smoking as well - and also the big blocks of wood which I find actually give a smokier flavour. I use it regularly regardless of the weather. Always gives a nice char and flavour to anything I make.

Why two wheels?
Well, last week I purchased a Weber family Q. I have cooked on it three times. Let me say straight up its brilliant!
I however have to move it away from the house as it can be a little smokey, and that's fine until you try moving it.
Why, oh why did they not put four wheels on? For the life of me I can't see what good two wheels serve. Its extremely difficult to move around. How much harder would it have been to put four wheels?

Best BBQ I've ever used!
I have had my Weber Family Q for many years and have used it almost daily. Very simple to use and the continuous ignition fires up the bbq everytime. No matter if you are cooking for one for cooking for a party of twenty this barbque can handle it. It has a huge cooking area. I got an additional solid cooling plate so you can do the meat on one side and the onions and eggs on the other side at the same time. I also got the trolley and the side tables are a really handy feature to put all the prep stuff on, and hang the utensils from. For a larg...Read more
e barbeque the gas seems to last for months and months (as I said I use it almost daily). Being a closed cooking system, my wife has even make lasagne and baked cakes in the barbeque. My version has a temperature gage in the lid which is very handy. This is a terrific barbeque and if and when it's time to replace it, I will definitely replace it with another Weber QSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Cannot understand why I keep burning everything after following instructions carefully.
Tried doing steaks on the open plate and didn't like the burnt taste so purchased a solid one. OK lets try a roast. Got the trivet etc and followed the instructions only to find everything burning. What am I doing wrong never had such a problem before. Maybe it is just trial and error who knows. Also found assembling instructions a bit confusing.

Unbelievable Roasts
Purchased this when we moved into our new home. cant get over how well it does roast. We hosted Christmas at our place and did roast pork and roast turkey on it and turned out amazing. The Family Q had plenty of space to fit it all in. Cant wait for summer to begin using it again

No need for an oven
Easy to use and clean. Roasts are so juicy snd tender that I will never use my oven again to cook meat. Temperature control is excellent and to date I haven't burnt anything. We have even bought a second one for my parents who now use it everyday with ease

Great all around cooking
I have had numerous BBQ's over the time - mainly the cheap bunnings variety given how much difference can exist - it's a metal plate and a heat source? Wrong wrong wrong - the weber just seems to cook food more evenly with the lid design, it runs on a fraction of the gas and the cleanup is significantly easier (not to mention no rust!)

Grill plates falling off due to warped BBQ cook box
I had an issue a few months after purchase, where the grill plates of my Weber Family Q (Premium) have started falling off into the cook box. I suspect the problem is due to the cook box having warped.
Weber support staff have confirmed that they are aware of the issue. However, they have insisted that the issue is not a design problem, but instead blamed me, saying that I probably made the BBQ too hot.

than 25 minutes (i.e. both knobs on according to the manual), the BBQ cook box may warp. Although Weber did agree to send me spare parts, dealing support staff became too much of a hassle, as they kept asking for ever more photos. So I found a very simple fix that resolved the issue: Buy some steel stripping from Bunnings. In my case, I had a few mesh panel fix clips (part number 3060012), which are the perfect size. Put them into your vice and bend into an L-shape, with a little U on top to hold on to the box. Make 8 of these brackets, put them on the box and place the grills on top. The clips hold the grills in place, even if the box is warped. It's an easy 10-minute fix and with the clips, my Weber BBQ has worked beautifully without problems for the last six months. I hope this review helps others who are experiencing the same issue. Unfortunately, I can't post photos of the brackets here, but I will post a video on YouTube one day if I have time.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great cooking but dangerous desgn
The bbq cooks well and with different plates is very flexible. The issue us the design of the wheels to move the barbecue as most people will want to do. One end is fine but the other is a trip hazard as there are no wheels and just a stand to slide along. You need to be physically strong to lift the BBQ to move it. When a simple jockey wheel could solve all of these problems.

Didn't know BBQing could be so much fun!
Best BBQ ever. The Weber Family Q replaced a cheap 3 burner flat BBQ. During summer I use it daily, for cooking the best sausages, roast chicken, pizzas, lasagna, bacon and eggs; you can cook most things. I recommend buying a half hotplate for cooking the onions to go with those sausages and also for breakfast. I was so impressed with the Family Q, I bought the Weber Baby to take on the camping trips.

Good but gas knobs turn on with cover
Of real concern twice now i have found the gas on due to cover turning knobs. Happened to my fathers also. The knobs are too easy to depress. Recommend always turning your gas shut off valve off every time...
The BBq is very good though but wonder if anyone else has had this concern. Could cause a real issue with gas accumulation under the cover.

Sorry I'm unsure....just give an approved Weber retailer a call and ask
Weber state on there website they dont sell conversation kits for the saftey of there customers. It will also void any warranty on it.
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Colin, thanks for your question. We can organise conversions for your barbecue. This is organised through our head office as (depending on the conversion) there needs to be a technician involved as well as the parts. Can you please contact our head office on 1300 301 290 to organise this.
Josh, thanks for jumping in on this conversation. That's not true; we do sell parts to customers. As mentioned above, depending on the type of conversion will depend on whether a technician or gas fitter is required, so there is a process to go through before we can send out parts.
The statement you're referring to applies to US barbecues- in Australia and NZ, it's a different process and we do allow conversions. Hope that helps clear that up!

Hi there, we have a Weber Q3200 we are wanting to put a new lid on it. Does the latest lid (with only Q label) on the top fit ok? Also can we just swap the thermometer straight over?? Cheers :)

Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Naomi, thanks for your question. If you have a Q320 (older model), then the new Q3200 lids will fit as the cookboxes are the same size.
The thermometers are different shapes, so you'll need a new one to fit the new lid. If you want to purchase one, please contact us on 1300 301 290 and we can organise the order over the phone through our head office.

I am keen for a built in Weber.
Is the Q3600 the only option?
Also why is the Q3600 significantly more expensive than the Family Q models.
Does this relate to durability, size, materials....?

Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Lou, thanks for your query. In terms of built-in barbecues, we also have a Summit range here: https://www.weber.com/AU/en/barbecues/premium-gas-range/summit-series/summit-e460-ng-built-in/7261024.html?cgid=221#start=1
The difference in price relates to the stainless steel housing, as well as the re-designed burner system, to fit the built-in specifications. If you need any more information on these barbecues, please let us know.
