Excellent BBQ, but have to light it manually
It is an excellent BBQ . The output is by far the best that I have seen. Had a party and everyone loved it.
A few issues that I found is given below
1) The ignite button is a total waste. It won't ignite and you need to ignite it manually. When I turn the burner ON, I can get a strong smell of Gas, but even after pressing the ignite button for more than 20 times, it does not ignite.
2) Aussie prices are crazy. It is double the price that is in the US.
Cooks perfect
The ignite button is useless, expensive

Service is fantastic!
Phoned regarding reduced coking efficiency at 3pm Thursday. [name removed] the technician phoned later that afternoon and arrived as arranged at 7.30am on Friday. Blocked jets were the problem. They were cleaned, inlet checked and advice given on appropriate tools to give better clean. Wow! All done free even though BBQ was just out of warranty.
Cooks very well
Side tables wobbly but apparently done so they are not overloaded

Find out how Weber Q 200 compares to other Gas BBQs
Know better, choose better.
Disappointing
I have been very disappointed with my Q200, the stainless steel gas burner keeps getting clogged up no matter how much I clean it. Only half the burner now works. The side trays don't remain straight so I have taken them off. Overall very disappointed in what I thought was going to be a great investment in a barbecue that would last me for many years

Cooking for a crowd with weber q 200
Have just come back from a Football Tournament where we shared accomodation with the team and entourage. We had 2 Weber Q's with us and cooked breakfast, sometimes lunch, and dinner for 27 people every night for six nights. We ran out of gas 1 night and only had enough for 1 Weber Q, we turned it on and let it warm up with lid on for half an hour to get the grill, flame grill hot, if I had not seen it with my own eyes I would not have believed it. We had 11-12 porterhouse steaks on the grill at a time, I expected the heat to instantly dimini...Read more
sh and the steak to stew, but to my delight the meat continued to sizzle and they were cooked to perfection. Marinated chicken breast strips were cooked in a pan for 10 minutes and then finished on the grill. They were delicious!!!!!!! nicely bbq'd on the outside, tender and moist on the inside. Upper thigh chicken pieces seasoned with salt and pepper, were placed skin side down on the grill at high heat then turned halfway through, the skin was crispy and meat tender and juicy. We bought the breakfast plate, not that reasonable at $75.00. However I can honestly say that I have never cooked fried eggs the way I love them any easier, the whites cooked through and not burned underneath, the yolk runny, we also cooked tomato and mushrooms on the breakfast plate, the bacon on the grill, everything was delicious . the non stick surface makes lifting eggs easy, well worth the money. Have heard the blue tooth meat probe is a must have when roasting, watch this space..... Portability, fantastic results, easy to use, included portable trolly and sensor light in bundle. Accessories are overpriced1 comment

Almost perfect!
It thrives on abuse, sits outdoors, exposed to the elements, including salt spray and works without a complaint. I have the 200 and would not buy a 'normal' BBQ again.
The only thing that I really really hate is the flimsy side table. Just spent 20 minutes cleaning up oil that I had rested on it.
Would love to find a fix as I don't need to fold up the sides each time.
It is the only thing that I feel that Weber hasn't put enough thought into
Idiot proof . Wonderful customer service, even after this idiot lit it with the side tables inside.
Flimsy side table arms. Argh

Last summer our four burner hooded bbq sat idle most of the time. With only three in our family it just wasn't worth lighting it up unless we were entertaining. Since buying this wonderful Weber we cook on it at least four nights a week. The house stays cool and the Weber does a beautiful job with everything we throw on it.
Although it's gas powered, food arrives at the table with that classic bbq taste because the small hood captures the heat and smoke. The design of this unit means it cooks food really quickly, so don't walk away fro...Read more
m it for the first couple of weeks until you get used to this; we scorched a lovely turkey roast because we underestimated the efficiency of the Weber. The design looks small on the showroom floor when you see it beside those huge 'outdoor kitchen' monsters designed for men that think size matters. We call our little Weber the Tardis BBQ; It's MUCH bigger on the inside! This little baby easily handles enough food for six. If you've got a large family or entertain regularly you might want to look at the 300 model, which is larger, but honestly, if there's just three to six in your family I'd save the extra cost and the extra gas and buy this model. So why this bbq if you can get something bigger for the same money? Easy! Bigger means you'll need more gas to heat it. How many times have you ever seen a huge hood filled to capacity. You waste gas heating air. This one also has a close seal between the hood and the base so there's no leaking of your heat. We've found it's more efficient than a conventional oven. While the speed, the ease of cooking and the exceptional flavour are the standout features, most people will still rave about how easy these bbqs are to clean. Take out the drip tray (our dog cleans this but you can just throw it out and replace it with another aluminium tray if you wish). Now just use some dish washing detergent and a soft wire brush, they recommend copper, to scrub it down. Now here's the best part; spray it with the hose! You wouldn't dream of doing this with a metal bbq but the Weber is aluminium so it can't rust. Cleaning usually takes about five minutes. Ten if we've used something marinated on the plate.1 comment

Perfect meals every time!
Our Weber Q200 is now 3 years old, and hasn't missed a beat. We cook all kinds of meats and I don't think I will ever roast in an oven again! The chook takes about an hour and is so succulent, as we get perfect crackling on our pork! My husband studiously read the instruction manual as the sales guy did say it was a change in the bbq cooking method, and if you follow their advice you will have perfect meals every time. A 9 litre gas tank will last the 2 of us approximately 10 months so I would say it was great in gas consumption. This is a far superior product than any other bbq we have had, and it is well worth the extra for perfect, even and succulent meals every time.
Energy efficient, reliable, easy to use

I think it would great if webber put thermometers in every model rather then just the select models.
Overall i would rate my experience with the weber q200 as 10 out of 10 for the best tasting food ever.
I have several family members and friends who have now bought 5 of the webber q's.
If you want mouth watering steaks and roast's then look no further because the weber q200 will deliver this every time as there small in appearance but big on taste. So if your sceptical like i was, don't be as i now do most of the cooking on the webber q instead of my 5 burner bbq and you can cook quite comfortably for 8 to 10 people.
Nothing Best Investment I have Made when it comes to cooking.

I've had my Weber Q 200 for a year and it hasn't disappointed once. You can take it camping, on a picnic or just cooking at home. The heat is evenly distributed along the griddle. For the price you pay at most retailers you get great value for money. It connects to normal gas bottles so you don't have to buy special items just to use a great product.
Small enough to fit into a normal size car. Plastic sides and alloy lid make for light moving. Efficient size to cook for 2 or to do a whole party. High quality add-on products with great features. No matches required to start.
Haven't found one yet.

We've had ours since 2003 and love it. Whenever I go somewhere else and have to use a traditional BBQ which flames up or sticks, it makes me realise how much better tasting and easier to use the Q is. When we bought ours the 220 had not been release, but is much better for roasting with the higher lid (I bought my parents one and they love it). Can comforatbly cook for 6-8 on the 200/220, but if you're regularly cooking for 8 or more, would consider the 300 (we're going to get one and keep the 200 for taking away/beech etc). That new teflon...Read more
sheeting you can get for ~$10/roll is a great alternative to the breakfast plate if you want to do onions or eggs etc. Great taste, easy to use and clean, no flare ups or sticking, can cook a lot on a small area, portable and economical on gas (9kgs last for a LONG time) Q200 side wings (fold out tables) are abit too flexible and can't handle really heavy loads (more than ~2 kilos of meat and if flexs too much).1 comment

Hi, my Q 220 has a serial number of AU0217434. How do I find out the year of manufacture?
3 answers
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Purcy, an AU code Q was manufactured in 2012. Let us know if you've got any more questions.
Hi thanks for that. I thought that code only related to kettles, though. Or is that just a coincidence?
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Purcy, we have a few different codes to determine years depending on the barbecue, but in this case, it's the same as a Kettle AU, 2012.

I bought a half grill (part 7654) and half plate (part 6559) for my Weber q 200. Using these in combination they both rock on their mounts and are unstable. They don't touch in the middle. Is there a way to fix this?

Hi Mark- you should have received a small set of grill clips that will help support the hotplate and grill in your older model Q- if you didn't receive these, send us an email at [email protected] with your address and we'll send you out a set
Perfect I'll do that cheers
