Grabbed this planer on a whim at bunnings because I thought It might come in handy while I'm building on a room. They are very cheap, half the price of the next lowest planer on the shelf. Thought it would be OK, but am pleasantly surprised by its performance. Sure its not as good as the top brands, but it is a mighty performer none the less. Haven't had any issues and have used it extensively in a short space of time. Let's face it there isn't much to go wrong with a planer, a motor, a drive belt and some adjustment knobs. Would highly recommend this product available from bunnings.

I have a Dewalt hand planer currently set up as a dressing machine/jointer, however i find odd jobs that i need a hand planer for. i got this from bunnings for around $35 (on sale normally around 45) and have found it to be a great little unit. i wouldn't recommend it where super accurate cuts are needed but it has quite a beefy little motor and can do some pretty meaty passes when required. lack of a vacuum port is a definite negative - it has a nastly looking waste chute - and overall it feels a little cheap. but you get what you pay for. and in this case you definitely get your moneys worth.

I bought this little planer to tidy up a stack of 100 x 100 hardwood fence posts. It was cheap at $45 & as the posts were tough & rough, I didn't expect it last much further than the job in-hand. It quickly & easily smoothed down all the posts & bevelled the edges, leaving a great finish. Then went on to take off the top of a damaged dining table with no sign of fatigue to the motor or dullness of the blades, again leaving a clean, sharp finish.

The housing is a nasty cheap plastic but handles well, the motor & blades are up there with the more expensive brands.

So if your after a planer for the occasional handyman job about the house, then you may find this little unit will do the job at half the cost. Well worth considering.
