very comfortable on road
Hi There. I have a Hyundai Accent 2013. it has original Kumho tyer for more than 3 years and around 40000 km. but after some punchers I ve decided to change them all with Yokohama. it was on sale, get 3 and 1 free. it is really comfortable and get noise from the road. but I do not think it is fuel efficient. but I am happy with them.

Great Tyres
With my old tyres going bald and losing traction, I decided to purchase 4 of these tyres as they were part of a special. Buy 3 and get 1 free. The tyres have good grip and no skidding anymore when turning at the roundabouts. Early days but these tyres have been good.

Great performance and value.
I drive a big heavy car which has always been harsh on wear and tear of tyres. This time round I have been really pleasantly surprised. I rack up about 30,000 km each year, and usually go through a set of tyres every 2 years or so. I bought 4 Yokohoma Blue Earth tyres about 2 years ago, and there has been no appreciable wear. I figure I will get at least another 3 years out of them at this rate. The ride is not hard and the road grip is superb. In my opinion, these are the best tyres I have ever had on any car I have ever owned and I have bee...Read more
n driving now for just over 50 years. And for the record, I have used most brands that are on the market along that 50 year journey. I rate these Yokohama tyres as top of the class in respect of performance and they are really quite reasonably priced,Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Excellent and cheap!
Bought 4 of these when the buy 3 get 4th free was running. Total cost was $360 which was excellent for 195/55/15 tyres. Tyres are quiet, grip well, and perform well in the wet. In fact apart from some minor screeching when cornering at high speed in the the dry I cannot fault them!

Okay apart from a few problems
Tyres make a squeaking sounds sometimes when turing the steering far right or left but other than that there appear to be no problems with grip etc. Tyres were purchased on special buy 3 get 1 free so think the price was worth it. Been about 1 and 1/2 years now and no problems so happy with the durability

Good value tyre
I opted to buy the bluearth types as they were the cheaper alternative than other models. Durability at the moment about 8 months is still very good. I would probably buy a different type after this though because of the grip - it seems to have lost a lot (although it could be my driving). The performance with these tyres on my current Mitsubishi Lancer is OK. Good point about these tyres are that they are environmentally friendly in comparison to other tyres.

Good value tyre
Purchased AE01 205/55/16R to replace a Yokohama CDrive2, which is no longer sold. Intended to buy AE050 (apparently the replacement of C Drive 2) and partner purchased the cheaper AE01 by mistake. Have driven 5000km so far. Good grip, but does seem slightly noisier than C-drive 02 in highway conditions. Will probably buy AE050 next time, as it is supposed to have superior grip and be quieter. I like that this range is supposed to be more environmentally-friendly than previous Yokohama tyres.

Very quiet excellent grip nothing to complain about
Most quiet tyres I've ever had on my Astra (owned 15 years). Good grip too. And smooth ride. Can't complain. I don't know what Larry is talking about regarding the whine it might not be the tyres might be the alignment. You may be blaming the wrong thing. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Tires whine loudly, can't stand it.
Bought a new 2014 Prius V, tires OK at first. Punctured one, replaced it with same. The replacement tire whines all the time loudly, seems out of round (Goes Whap,Whap Whap along with the wine) but balance and alignment are perfect. Tread on all OK, but going to replace all at 45K because at this point not sure if just the one tire or all. Drives me crazy

Awesome tyres
I had Firehawk tyres before and I was happy, however when the time came, we purchased Yokohamas BlueEarth tyres, amazing tyres, so quite, they are gripping amazingly, have done 5000km so far and cannot see any use on them at all, fuel consumption is also better, not by much but I can see improvement.
I paid $155 each but had buy 3 get 1 free.... 225/45/17
Definitely recommend them, will update review once I do 20000km.

Yokohama BluEarth AE01 for 205/55/R16
I have replaced 4 on my 2004 Audi A4. I have driven them for a week now.
Fantastic tyres ! Noticeable improvement in comfort and ride. I felt driving a new car. Plus it is low noise and promotes better handling. I highly recommend Yokohama BlueEarth. Great value for money.

Noisy on our MY 17 Kia Cerato.
These tyres were recommended as being quiet. I only kept them on the vehicle for about 900 klm as they were noisy on most types of bitumen when fitted to our Kia Cerato MY17. Fortunately they were refunded under the customer satisfaction warranty by Yokohama and I was able to fit Michelin ST3 tyres which are a huge improvement.
Obviously certain tyres suit some cars and not others.

Good tyres after they've settled in
Bought the tyres November 2014. All four tyres replaced at the same time. Have done 33K km, and as at the last Warrant of Fitness inspection, the front tyres are down to 4.5mm and rear tyres at 6 mm, though must admit I forgot to get the tyres rotated during the last service. The first 2-3K km the tyres didn't seem any quieter, but once bedded in, the tyres settled and on fairly smooth road surfaces, tyre noise is very minimal. Because Auckland has a mix of smooth and coarse pavements, can't really say for sure how much quieter these tyres are....Read more
Grip is good and reassuring in the wet. Since being fitted, the shop has had the tyre pressures quite high - 37psi, which is higher than the usual 32-34psi, but speaking with friends and some mechanics, they also have their tyres at higher pressure, so just left it at that. I think it helps reduce tyre wear, and at 33K km now, well it seems to be working. Perhaps if I deflated it to 34psi it would ride a bit quieter.1 comment

2 tires worn out at 15,000 K's
In March 2015, I had a new set of these tires fitted to our Corolla, having a wheel alignment done at the same time, I was expecting these Yokohama tires to last us for a while.
We had the car since new, so 11 years now, each set of tires we had before used to last us around 40,000 K's, which is 3-4 years, these Yokohama tires only lasted 15,000 K's, 1 year and 6 month exactly, and my mechanic now is refusing to pass the rego as the tread on the back tires is gone. What a waste of our money on these tires.

Excellent tyre especially in the wet
Wow these tyres are awesome. Had them put on my falcon as lost traction in the rain on the old set going around a roundabout. The other day I intentionally tried to make the car swing out and they never moved . I've even used specific rain tyres before and these blow them, well, out of the water

Petrol king
Just got these tyres and all I can say is epic.
Handlings awesome, no noise from the road, perfect handling in rain and theye stopped the little vibration my car had smooth ride
But the most important fact of all a quarter tank petrol would get me 100k letting it roll now I'm at 135k a quarter tank.
and at $300 for 4 at bobjane I cannot be happier awesome investment

Decent tyres
I bought these about 4 months ago to replace a set of aging mixed brand tyres on my N14 Pulsar due to a good deal and prior experience with set of A-drives a few years ago (different rims to what is currently fitted).
The good points
*Good price with 3 for 4 offer
*Quieter in a straight line compared to my old tyres
*Seem to be wearing well (so far 6000kms).
Neither here nor there
*Haven't had a puncture
*Hold air well.

Great Yokohama Tyres
Great noise reduction with these Yokohama BluEarth AE01 tyres fitted to all 4 wheels.
Give a nice smooth ride and good grip in the wet.
Highly recommended.
Bob Jane T-Mart gave a good deal on these tyres being 4 for the price of 3. Would recommend them to anyone looking for a good deal on new tyres.

Questions & Answers
Sachuasked
what is the 205/55/16 tyre milege?
1 answer
The mileage capable to be squeezed out of a tyre depends on many aspects. The tyre needs to be of a reputed brand to begin with. The main things are, consistently maintaining manufacturer recommended air pressure, regular tyre rotations, wheel balancing and alignments (10000kms) even with all that being followed negative driving habits such as loaded vehicle, fast cornering, regular hard braking will reduce the mileage significantly. So there is no definitive answer to your question.
Snapperasked
What is the tread depth for a new tire?
1 answer
supposed to be ~ 8mm but depends on tyres (off-road/passenger/commercial etc) and manufacturers specs. Have a look at the Aust Design Rules too for other information.

What is a good quiet tyre in yokohama for an ix35 hyundai?
2 answers
Try the Bluearth AE50s, they're a high quality tyre for medium-large size passenger vehicles.
Great grip in the wet, quiet on most surfaces and they offer great fuel savings.
They're about 20% cheaper than the equivalent tyre from Bridgestone, continental or Michelin which is a big plus.
I cant answer this as Im not familiar with the car.Sorry

Update 9th October 2017. Nearly 3 years old, done 56K km, the fronts are at 4mm, the rears are 3mm (I had the tyres rotated sometime ago, hence I've had the tyres back to front from the review I first... Read more
did). No complaints about the tyres. If the rears get down to 2mm, I'll change them. Sooner if the next winter comes (by June next year - winter in the Southern Hemisphere, for those in the North reading this). Even at 3mm, over nearly 60K km, that's not bad for longevity. Still doesn't match the original Bridgestones that came with the car which went to 126K km with still about 2.5mm left, but it was a noisy tyre.
