Hi Lenore, I don't know where you are but we had the same problem.
Get in touch with your dealer - I am sure they will correct whatever
you are doing wrong with that locking system. Mark at Penrith would

Rob unfortunately it's the pits, mine is the extended version, my problem is I keep losing mine after 6 Times I wired up the hooks, you have too have patience because your passed on to fiat and then back to avan like a game of tennis, still not rectified over 2 years later. The cradle has too be pushed up and someone unhooks it for you...... Lol

It's vehicle manufacturer are the ones who install GPS, avan only build the body and it's misleading, yet avan won't rectify anything to do with the vehicle ie: jack, or wheel carrier or wheel alignment also needs to be rectified. Australian made..... I'd check everything that opens and closes, and everything comes at a cost to you..... Otherwise a great vehicle, oh and because it's front wheel drive get rid of the highway tyres, 4x4 tyres give much better traction, live and Learn.

They've been very reluctant to rectify and is out of warranty and flooring is obviously affected

Did you go direct to Avan Melbourrnes head office. That was the only way I got results.
Most of the dealers are hopeless.

Yes, unfortunately that's avan for you they do whatever to sell, then you are left holding the bag, fiat, motorhome two separate components..use your documents to describe it..

Thank you..we noticed the 2013 interior differs slightly so really not sure what we have. All I can find out is Fiat cab was 2013..maybe motorhome component was built in 2014..who knows..all in all been a nightmare experience since we got it..

Motorhomes Australia has a Facebook group where many members have an Avan Ovation. Also you can join Avan Motorhomes Australia as "potential buyers" and gets lots of info there and a great source of feedback on all Avan Motorhomes. Jeff B Jnr the owner of Avan is also a member of the latter group. No matter what you buy you may have problems, it's the after sales service that is the key. Hope this helps.

Mate I would do a through check before taking delivery and I speak from experience, whilst there set out is fantastic, the quality control leaves a lot to be desired and like most dealers once they have your money,....... Lol helps to reduce the heartache, check cupboards hinges etc roof vents, leaks etc, aerial installation otherwise buyers beware there's things that you overlook like part replacement should you have a accident.... Months and months the wait.... So you live and Learn, most things get rectified.......

Facebook has a groups "Avan Motor Home Owners group Aust" & "Motorhomes Australia" . The members would be able to answer this question. Both great resources. Cheers

A battery can be fine today, but a week later dead depending on it's age etc... Get it checked

Sorry I don't know, but if it's a fuse look in the main wiring which is usually under the seats dining, or google it for usually comes up... Good luck

Replace the fuse, if it blows again have the wiring checked.
There are instructions on how to raise and lower the bed in the info pack you should have received with your van.
If you don't have the info pack check the instructions on the web or contact any Avan dealership.

Hi Guru, first of all I would check to see why the floor area has become soft, is the fridge defrosting correctly or has water l accumulated in the areas around around the fridge and oven. Once the reason for the soft floor has been established and successfully dealt with then floor repairs can be completed.

Sorry you will need to talk to avan or a repairer

Our Ovation M5 doesn't have anchor points fitted but we think they can be retro fitted by the dealership as an extra.

It's difficult to say as it would depend on the model, number of kms traveled etc. Maybe have a look at dealerships or a CMCA site to ascertain prices.

I have a bike rack for sale. It slides in to the tow bar. I have an AVan M3 and the bike rack holds my 90 Kg postie bike. If you have a tow bar this would fit.

As far as I know Fiat has three years roadside assistance.
Ring Fiat head office, customer service .Have your rego and vin number.They should be able to tell you if you are covered.

Terry I have the same noise tried the same as you to stop it .Mine appears to be over the drive side door.Pulled it apart to find nothing could be rubbing there .I think mine is rubbing some where else and echoing above the door.If you are on a smooth road it disappears. There is not to many smooth roads.If you find the problem let me know please.( I will keep check mine if I find the problem I will let you know )

Hi Terry, we had a similar issue, it was the strut linkage that squeaked in our van. I used silicone spay which solved the problem.

Hi Peter,
We don't have a tow bar fitted to our Ovation M5 m/home but would suggest that you contact the dealership where it was fitted it as it's either been fitted incorrectly or has exceeded the towing capacity.

I have a M7 with a towbar fitted 2014 model never tow anything yet.
Tow capacity is 1500kg.Towball weight 150kg.
On some of the earlier models the tow capacity is only 1200kg towball weight 100kg.
I would put a jack under the tow bar and slowly jack the tow bar to see if you have movement in the bolts where the chassis is extended.

Thanks for our reply I have been in contact with the dealership they have offered to have a look at it next month . The bar has been fitted as per specifications supplied to Hayman Reece by A Van . The issue is the extension chassis provided as part of the M / Home build has only been tech screwed and liquid nailed to the rear ply flooring .Although the tow bar is rated with a tow ball load weight of 80 kg & towing capacity of 1500kg I can't see how this would be possible considering the final mounting relies on the strength of the ply flooring .

Hi, we also encountered this problem along with other Avan owners. The dealership replaced nylon bushes with ones made from Teflon and this fixed the problem. In the Avan kit there are instructions on how to rectify the problem but as it will probable an ongoing issue I advice getting the Teflon bushes fitted.

Hi, It would depend on how warped the cupboards are, but you could try adjusting the hinges which should help alleviate the twist in the doors.

Hi Sam,
Not sure which state you live in but we met some people from Victoria last year who'd had a security door fitted to their Ovation M3 and the cost was $1200. It looked like a Jayco Conquest security door so perhaps make enquiries at your local Jayco dealership.
