Product kept fleas away in past. Previously dog was not as energetic after applications but survived.
Be cautious useing this product. Last application (around 7pm) caused healthy happy and loving 4 year old cocker spaniel to be admitted to vet hospital. A few hours after application dog became slightly uncomfortable. By next day dogs entire body was tense like he was flexing all of his muscles at the same time. Breathing sounded raspy. He had a difficult time panting as he would stop and start panting continuously like he wanted to pant but something was stopping him. Stayed in same spot for 2 days. Would eat and drink if food and water w...Read more
as brought to him. Only went outside to pee when carried. Became paralyzed in hind legs and refused water and food at the end of day 2 (48 hours after application). Day 3 dogs facial expressions, seem like he is ready to go for walks and play fetch but his body is still tense and he can no longer walk. Taken to vet and left there on day 3. The evening of day 2 dog became paralyzed in hind legs. Didnt pee or po for over 24 hours. Could no longer be carried outside due to pain (dog would bite you) On days one and two dog was able to walk but he walked wobbly with legs not in correct position sort of sticking out. Very strange. Dog is at vet now and prognosis is bad if he cannot regain movement of hind legs he will have to be put down. I am in shock as I am not ready to put my dog down he is only 4.Purchased in March 2021 for $69.00.

Great product and works perfect for my Bulldog
Great product and works perfect for my Bulldog.
I don't understand why this product has bad reviews.
My Bulldog got attacked by flies on his ears and nothing worked but this product!
I used sprays and creams on his ears and this is the only product that keeps the flies away!
Purchased in August 2021 at PetBarn Physical store for $80.00.

Disappointing: worked for less than 2 weeks.
I applied as directed and did not bathe my crossbreed dog (to avoid reducing its effectiveness) but after 13 days she had a lot of fleas. Will not be buying again.
Purchased in February 2021.

Useless Flea Med! Useless Customer Service!
Changed to this 4 months ago because of the "Repel" feature. Gave last treatment on 7-31, had VERY ACTIVE fleas on him on the week of 8-10!! My dog was chewing himself up. Thought it was an allergic reaction to the grass at first, didn't think it was fleas the first few days since it had only been 1 1/2 weeks since his 4th application.
Called customer service. Blamed it on everything but the product. (of course)
Very disappointed ~~ $125.00 down the drain!
Back to using Frontline Plus.

Useless for fleas
This product is easy to apply on my sprocker. The vet prescribed this instead of the previous product as she kept getting ticks on her. Fair enough, she hasn't had any more ticks, but she is still crawling with fleas even after a second month of application. I have bought a flea spray for the home, including her bedding and thoroughly vacuum the area. We also bought a flea comb. We have never had such a problem with our previous dogs and once worst of the tick season is over I shall not be buying this product again. I would have rated this product as terrible but for the fact that it does seem to have dealt with the ticks.

Be Aware of Bayer keep your money find another way this product does not work
Bayer should be ashamed of themselves for selling a product that doesn't work and they know it. still have ticks . The 1800 number was a joke. How it claims to work for 1 month yet was told and read fine print on the inside not outside of box that you can retreat dog after one week!!!! Had I read that I wouldn't have bothered. I did treat again and still has ticks Bayer I'm disappointed and threw money in the toilet. Awful company awful product!!!!!

My dog DIED
Useless against ticks - my dog died. The vet didn't even check for ticks and assumed dog's lameness was due to previous cruciate surgery - and this was a vet that had never seen the dog before. Known bad season for ticks after the break in the millennium drought - tick serum in short supply. So, my dog crashed and died and the vet got paid, Advantix did nothing and no one suffers except the dog an owner.

Tried 3 gifts. Overtime our dog becomes sick. Diarrhea vomiting and erratic behaviour. very itchy
I have used advantix before, no problems. Advantix 2 seems way more toxic than the old product. I bought a 6 month supply but will show the other 3 applications away because my dog gets sick for at least 4 days after application. Not worth the hassle and the risks to my dog. I will start looking for a different less toxic drug or even homeopathic product. Do not know where yet. My dog is a Schapedoes off 18 month old.

Avoid Adventix It's Poison For Your Dog!!!
I'm here to warn everybody about this malicious product and going to post about it everywhere I can. Since applying this yesterday to my German Shepherd the dog is acting strange looking for places to hide, has itching all over its body and suffering a lot. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!! This product shouldn't be on the shelves. If there was no law in this world I would take the owner of this company and make him drink this poison that they make, bad people that all they care about is money poisoning our pets by compromising legislation. I wish them slow and painful death!! Save your pets from this product and simply AVOID!! Wish I've read all the bad reviews about it before applying it to my best friend in this world.

Tick a week later after dose
We live in Queensland Australia, I was disappointed to find a tick on my 14 kg cavoodle tonight ...Flees were not a problem before and now i noticed fleas on him also, I foster dogs for rescue so i have bought 4 packets for the Dogs we have currently .. I think i have just wasted $250, The information concerning when you can wash/ wet your Dog in the leaflet is very very confusing ... I have tried other Flea/ Tick in the past and they make my Cavoodle very sick, so i thought i would try this :( .. I will now go natural and see if that works . BTW it wrecked my Dogs 10th Birthday Today with every one trying to pull the tick out of his MOUTH .. NOT HAPPY

Waste of money and time
Our dog has had fleas this entire summer. Using this product changed nothing.. I have used this in the past, same dog with very good results. I should have saved my money and picked the fleas off one at a time. I am retired and this would have given me a job. No pay but the dog would have been happy, maybe. I did note the package stated made in China. Perhaps this tells us something.. This product should be taken off the market. It simply does not work. As to side effects, there were no effects period, nada, zero, etc.

Damaged my pups - huge red raw patch - fur gone
DON'T USE. my two French bulldogs had a very bad reaction on the place where I applied it - constantly scratching at the point of application, now their fur is coming out and there is a big red and inflamed sore. My vet is going to organise a full refund - Horrendous product - I think removing a tick is better than using this product.

Caused seizures in my kelpie
When my Kelpie was 3 years old, he had his first seizure. Took to vet and canine neurologist after second seizure and they diagnosed epilepsy. I was dubious about this diagnosis and put him on natural diet and Taurine supplement. I had been using Advantix during summer and Advantage during winter since he was 6 months old. He continued to have a seizure about once a month, EXCEPT for over winter months when I didn't treat for fleas or ticks. It took me a while to realise it was the Advantix as he wouldn't fit for about 2 weeks following ap...Read more
plication of Advantix. I have since found out that some dogs have great difficulty clearing the substance from their receptors and it builds up in the body over time and then (wrongly?) get a diagnosis of epilepsy. I have not used any flea/tick treatment for 6 months and no fits so far. I will never use this again on him. I have another 10 year dog who has no problem with it at all.Similar opinion? Dog had six seizures after applying Advantix
We have a Border Collie X Kelpie, she is nearly 11 years old. Advantix might work, we used it before on our dog sometimes, but be aware that this medication can be harmful and very dangerous for your dog. Our dog had six seizures last time we applied Advantix. I noticed a change in her behaviour straight after application but unfortunately did not pay enough attention. She had the first seizure three days after the application of Advantix and five seizures followed within 31 hours, till we took our dog to the beach, soaked her in saltwater, she...Read more
had a swim and at home we washed her again – and luckily no more seizures! This was on a weekend, we now will go and see a vet for a blood test. We only hope the seizures haven’t caused brain damage. From now on we will treat our dog and cat with natural products only!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good for fleas useless for ticks
We have been using Advantix on our Border Collie for the last 4 years, it has been very successful in guarding against fleas but this summer she has had three ticks so far. We follow the recommendations to the letter and apply it every two weeks, not worth the premium price. We now spray a tea tree oil solution on the dog before she is allowed out to play in the paddocks and haven't had a tick since.

Works great for me.
I have a 4 year old Staffy who has picked up fleas a few times a year, after one application of Advantix there is not a single flea left alive in 2 days time. It has worked for me every time I've used it and also seem to stop the midges getting him as well.
Works quickly. Easy to apply
Expensive. Leaves a greasy patch on dog's coat for a few days after application.

Just used advantix on my 9mth old whippet, because of very short hair seems to sit on surface very hard to keep on skin, comes on anything he leans on. Any advise?

I put it on before mine go to bed and by morning it has dried into the skin. If I put it on earlier in the day they sometimes rub it off. Hope this helps.
My dog has short hair as well and extremely dense..you must part the hair as best you can, then force the tip of the applicator onto the skin. If the product works you will have success.
Thank you

better. He was ready to go! However, the dog couldn't move anymore and was laying in pee all day as the vet for some reason didn't give me a catheter bag. On day 5 he was put to sleep as the vet said that once you lose the ability to move your hind quarters you barely get the ability back and if you do it takes a long long time. Of course, I'm unemployed for the first time in 9 years due to my place of employment shutting down. I have two human kids at home. I need to spend a lot of time looking for work and then attending work. Am not in a position where its possible for me to stay with my dog all the time or believe me I would! This dog was my best friend, companion, the one I'm with all the time. Kids are with their friends at night and I'm with my dog. I talk to him all the time, he actually talked back he was very verbal, and he slept with me. Now he's dead. At 4. Not even close to what should have been the end. Not even 4 and a half. He was 4 and three months. Absolutely no health problems yet at all. I didn't have the funds or time to sit with him while he healed if he would have even healed from paralysis. He was so so so so so so so sad and frustrated. He wanted to move. He was ready to move. His eyes looked like he was all better. Before I applied this medicine he was the healthiest and happiest dog in the entire world. Please give your dogs a different flea med with less ingredients. I read another story I can't remember where at this moment, but there was another dog who became paralyzed after applying advantix ii and the vet said it was a spinal stroke. Occurred I believe the day of or day after applying this medication. Person commented it was too much of a coincidence for him to believe that as his dog was healthy too. There's been a ton of other reactions as well but I could only find one so far that lead to paralysis though. I'm sure there have been others. It can happen to your dog please don't chance it! I know this medication caused the death of my dog and I feel absolutely sick for putting it on him. The only way I can feel a little better is to warn others. I put the correct dose on my dog and applied it correctly. He was not around any other dogs at all so was not around any other treated dogs. Could not have licked it at all. He was my one and only. And now he's DEAD.
