Great product and works perfect for my Bulldog

published

Great product and works perfect for my Bulldog.
I don't understand why this product has bad reviews.
My Bulldog got attacked by flies on his ears and nothing worked but this product!
I used sprays and creams on his ears and this is the only product that keeps the flies away!

Purchased in August 2021 at PetBarn Physical store for $80.00.

Disappointing: worked for less than 2 weeks.

I applied as directed and did not bathe my crossbreed dog (to avoid reducing its effectiveness) but after 13 days she had a lot of fleas. Will not be buying again.

Useless Flea Med! Useless Customer Service!

published

Changed to this 4 months ago because of the "Repel" feature. Gave last treatment on 7-31, had VERY ACTIVE fleas on him on the week of 8-10!! My dog was chewing himself up. Thought it was an allergic reaction to the grass at first, didn't think it was fleas the first few days since it had only been 1 1/2 weeks since his 4th application.
Called customer service. Blamed it on everything but the product. (of course)
Very disappointed ~~ $125.00 down the drain!

Useless for fleas

published

This product is easy to apply on my sprocker. The vet prescribed this instead of the previous product as she kept getting ticks on her. Fair enough, she hasn't had any more ticks, but she is still crawling with fleas even after a second month of application. I have bought a flea spray for the home, including her bedding and thoroughly vacuum the area. We also bought a flea comb. We have never had such a problem with our previous dogs and once worst of the tick season is over I shall not be buying this product again. I would have rated this product as terrible but for the fact that it does seem to have dealt with the ticks.

Be Aware of Bayer keep your money find another way this product does not work

published

Bayer should be ashamed of themselves for selling a product that doesn't work and they know it. still have ticks . The 1800 number was a joke. How it claims to work for 1 month yet was told and read fine print on the inside not outside of box that you can retreat dog after one week!!!! Had I read that I wouldn't have bothered. I did treat again and still has ticks Bayer I'm disappointed and threw money in the toilet. Awful company awful product!!!!!

My dog DIED

published

Useless against ticks - my dog died. The vet didn't even check for ticks and assumed dog's lameness was due to previous cruciate surgery - and this was a vet that had never seen the dog before. Known bad season for ticks after the break in the millennium drought - tick serum in short supply. So, my dog crashed and died and the vet got paid, Advantix did nothing and no one suffers except the dog an owner.

Tried 3 gifts. Overtime our dog becomes sick. Diarrhea vomiting and erratic behaviour. very itchy

published

I have used advantix before, no problems. Advantix 2 seems way more toxic than the old product. I bought a 6 month supply but will show the other 3 applications away because my dog gets sick for at least 4 days after application. Not worth the hassle and the risks to my dog. I will start looking for a different less toxic drug or even homeopathic product. Do not know where yet. My dog is a Schapedoes off 18 month old.

Avoid Adventix It's Poison For Your Dog!!!

published

I'm here to warn everybody about this malicious product and going to post about it everywhere I can. Since applying this yesterday to my German Shepherd the dog is acting strange looking for places to hide, has itching all over its body and suffering a lot. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!! This product shouldn't be on the shelves. If there was no law in this world I would take the owner of this company and make him drink this poison that they make, bad people that all they care about is money poisoning our pets by compromising legislation. I wish them slow and painful death!! Save your pets from this product and simply AVOID!! Wish I've read all the bad reviews about it before applying it to my best friend in this world.

Tick a week later after dose

published

We live in Queensland Australia, I was disappointed to find a tick on my 14 kg cavoodle tonight ...Flees were not a problem before and now i noticed fleas on him also, I foster dogs for rescue so i have bought 4 packets for the Dogs we have currently .. I think i have just wasted $250, The information concerning when you can wash/ wet your Dog in the leaflet is very very confusing ... I have tried other Flea/ Tick in the past and they make my Cavoodle very sick, so i thought i would try this :( .. I will now go natural and see if that works . BTW it wrecked my Dogs 10th Birthday Today with every one trying to pull the tick out of his MOUTH .. NOT HAPPY

Waste of money and time

published

Our dog has had fleas this entire summer. Using this product changed nothing.. I have used this in the past, same dog with very good results. I should have saved my money and picked the fleas off one at a time. I am retired and this would have given me a job. No pay but the dog would have been happy, maybe. I did note the package stated made in China. Perhaps this tells us something.. This product should be taken off the market. It simply does not work. As to side effects, there were no effects period, nada, zero, etc.

Six month supply lasted six weeks for two dogs. Extremely disappointed and will never use product again. Waste of money.

Damaged my pups - huge red raw patch - fur gone

published

DON'T USE. my two French bulldogs had a very bad reaction on the place where I applied it - constantly scratching at the point of application, now their fur is coming out and there is a big red and inflamed sore. My vet is going to organise a full refund - Horrendous product - I think removing a tick is better than using this product.

Good for fleas useless for ticks

published

We have been using Advantix on our Border Collie for the last 4 years, it has been very successful in guarding against fleas but this summer she has had three ticks so far. We follow the recommendations to the letter and apply it every two weeks, not worth the premium price. We now spray a tea tree oil solution on the dog before she is allowed out to play in the paddocks and haven't had a tick since.

Works great for me.

published

I have a 4 year old Staffy who has picked up fleas a few times a year, after one application of Advantix there is not a single flea left alive in 2 days time. It has worked for me every time I've used it and also seem to stop the midges getting him as well.
Works quickly. Easy to apply
Expensive. Leaves a greasy patch on dog's coat for a few days after application.

Advantix for Dogs Red (Large Dog)

Just used advantix on my 9mth old whippet, because of very short hair seems to sit on surface very hard to keep on skin, comes on anything he leans on. Any advise?

I put it on before mine go to bed and by morning it has dried into the skin. If I put it on earlier in the day they sometimes rub it off. Hope this helps.

My dog has short hair as well and extremely dense..you must part the hair as best you can, then force the tip of the applicator onto the skin. If the product works you will have success.
