My aldi coffee machine suddenly won't wrk. Button switch not coming on. Any suggestions?

If it is less than two years old it has warranty so take it back to store, if you don't have the receipt then call caffitaly .
If it's out of warranty then it's dead. Cost more to repair than new one
Thanks....it looks like new machine coming up.

I have an aldi expressi machine, purchased less than four months ago, the only button that works is the rinse button. I can no longer make a cup of coffee with one press of a button. I have to press the rinse button about five time to get a full cup. Anyone know a fix for this or should I just return?

The idea of these machines is for making lattes or cappuccino which is why it only dispenses a small amount of coffee, I suggest pressing the low button first, then put your pod in and press the button once again.
Absolute rubbish... My origanal machine filled an espresso cup... This thing is pure rubbish

does anyone know if you can buy the Expressi machine in nz?

Machine turns on and cleans but when you press either the 1/2 cup or full cup button the lights just blink and no coffee. ie no sound, no motor just sounds of silence. Any ideas anyone?

It's probably just pushing the water into the waste pod container.
I've found no solution for this, other than to return the machine for a replacement. I've done this twice now and the new machine has been good for a month or two.
Not promising.
Thanks Ian. No water comes out at all but was told by Aldi service that the thermostat has gone..ie the machine flashes because the water is not hot enough.
Off to the shops to buy a new one. Yes, they only seem to last 2 years at the most these machines.

Why does it drip very little and very slow on long coffee button and wont pour on small coffee button... When no coffee capsules in it pours a ok??? Please explain
2 answers
No idea, you would have to ask Aldi.
Mine does this, I think its just filling up the capsule 1st and it has a smaller hole to squeeze through and heating the water at the same time so it's slower. It takes a bit longer but as long as there is enough water in the reservoir then it will pump out the right amount of coffee. If you're really worried about it call their warranty number they will be able to help you better than I can.

I have noticed that the latest batch of pods that I have bought are much stiffer (plastic slightly thicker). This is causing problems with the pods not getting pierced properly and the water leaking out of the base of the machine. Have tried pods from the previous batch I bought and they work fine. Are Aldi aware of this manufacturing defect?
1 answer
I'm having the same problem, I've found a partial solution via partially opening the machine with the lever (after putting the pod in) and then closing (repeating as necessary but usual only twice).
Tends to work. Hope it helps

The lever that pushes the pod into place is stuck in the upright position, and won't be move. Can I free it?

I have just purchased an Aldi expressi. Do you recommend buying a frother if you drink lattes?
6 answers
Hi Tricia,
I'm not a barista, but I think a latte is a combination of espresso and steamed milk (not frothed milk).
I haven't bought a milk frother, because I don't usually drink cappuccinos.
For a latte, I usually prepare a short black (Torino), add milk and throw it in the microwave for 20 seconds.
Alternative, you could heat the milk first and add to the short black. To me, it tastes great either way.
Cheers,
Ant.
Thanks Ant. Appreciate your answer.
The Milk Frother is a must. To make a latte, take off the spring and fill the frother with enough milk. I use the fill line as a guide foe a large latte. The milk is heated with a slight froth so when it is ready you pour it on your Torino with the slight froth adding a nice top to the latte For a cappuccino you add the spring. It's so good when friends around as you can switch between making lattes' to cappuccinos' so quickly.

My machine heats up, sounds and runs like normal for a second or so, then starts making a popping noise and hot water pours out into the part where the empty pods go.
I love my coffee, not sure what to do, just can't make one.

We like to make coffee for our clients at work (4-6 per day) but our current machine is very noisy (it has internal grinder) as the kitchen is near the bosses office this just isn't practical. It is also very time consuming and requires a cleaning program to be run which is time consuming so staff just don't do it. I would love to hear if people think the aldi machine is noisy or time consuming? cleaning process? Can you use other pods?? Can you do a latte??
Is the separate milk frother noisy or timely?? Any advice would be great. thanks so much

We have had all three models and the current one whilst it has a few differences (you can read my earlier reviews) its super quiet and as long as you do the rinse cycle on start up and finish I have found you do not need to do the more involved cleaning that often i.e. 6 to 12 months. Its a great little machine for the price. I have never use other capsules overall happy with the Aldi offering. We found at the time the Phillips Frother to be superior to the Aldi unit after friends went through the experience of comparing them. Not sure if they have improved this or not.
Hi, thanks so much for taking the time to answer my questions. Sounds like the aldi is the way to go.
thanks again, I really appreciate it.

The Aldi machines are great for domestic use.
For an office environment, you need a commercial quality machine.

We changed to the new machine recently as the old unit used to leak water from somewhere!. This morning after successfully making the first round of coffee's the unit won't move past the heat cycle to allow for coffee selection.
Using "IT" logic, I rebooted (switched off and back on, reflushed - twice, but still no small or large cup coffee lights. Just the heat, flush light staying on. Anyone else had this or have we got the Leyland P76 of coffee machines here ?

I prefer drinks made with milk. I've tried the hot chocolate pod but found it watery. Can you put milk in the water container? Not sure why there is a milk button?
3 answers
I thought this myself the other day!
The milk button on this machine is actually the cleaning button. You need to buy a milk frother if you are wanting milk in your coffee/ hot chocolate. Do not put milk in the water container :)
Half fill the cup with milk, put in microwave and heat to your desired heat, now use coffee machine as normal. Frother OK but takes too long to clean afterwards.

Looking for thoughts / advice to make the best tasting coffee with the expressi machine 2015... I usually drink cappuccino coffee's - and I have the milk frother - but want to experiment with different ratio's / pods to get great coffee for not only me, but those who visit. So interested to know your favourite way to have your coffee from this machine and why!?
1 answer
Hi Brendan,
Only one bit of advice that will help across everything you try, and fun to experiment with - short pour your coffee.
The coffee flavours that get extracted in the first 15-30 ml are the best. Past that you start getting bitter elements. That is why dripalotor/filter coffee is so bitter; everything is extracted. Some of the Lungo blends can be a bit more forgiving, but I find past 45ml the taste changes a lot.

I've just purchased the new model.
When I make a drink I'm getting about 2 tablespoons of coffee in the pod bin.
It seems to be a lot of wasted drink. And very messy. Is this normal? Or is mine not sealing?
Thanks!

Hmm, I am getting some water in there but I assumed it is just from the pod when it drops down as it would hold about that much.
I just rinse it out after a few coffees have been made... I also wash the milk frother after every coffee because some gets stuck to the bottom and don't want it to build up

What number coffee pod is the closest to a standard coffee? We just got a machine but I don't know what pods to choose?
1 answer
It really is a case of trial and error with the pods to find one that you like.
My husband for example likes the Valetta flavor which is a number 6 but my sin like the Tauro which is a number 7.
I also add a drop of vanilla to the drink.
Good luck.

Why is the rinse button also called the milk button?

You can get milk pods! I found these the other day at Aldi and got very excited. No more heating the milk another way first!

I bought the new model Expressi today and it shows a water filter which you buy separately. Where can I buy one?

Phoned the 1800 number at back of manual. They said Aldi will shortly have filters for sale but ok to use machine without filters till then. ☺
Filters will be at Aldi shortly but till then ok to use without filter. There's a 1800 number to call inside back page of manual ☺
I'm wondering why you would need a filter at all? You should rinse the machine from time to time with Expressi Cleaner, and also use an Expressi Descaler. Both products come in 5-dose packs. If your tap water has enough impurities to require filtering you should probably be doing this separately before filling the coffee machine reservoir. I suspect that a filter might be quite unnecessary, especially since the machine won't last many years.
