Avoid at all cost!
We recently moved from Melbourne to Queensland with Allied Pickfords. The packing was atrocious! We had kitchen utensils thrown in boxes with outdoor footwear, delicate items with no protective wrapping and many items lost in transport including the essentials box with all the bolts and screws to reassemble items. We used their storage facilities as the property we rented whilst building was significantly smaller than the property we left so therefore around 2/3 of our belongings had to be stored. ings were returned to us broken, many of these were sentimental presents bought by parents no longer with us so totally irreplaceable. We took out insurance but our items were in storage for 12 months and they said it exceeded the timeframe for reimbursement of the $16,500 damages/loss they had caused. We sought legal advice but the costs were escalating just to get AP to respond with basically tough there’s nothing we will do to put right our mistakes. We attached pictures of all the damage and evidence of the extremely poor packing but they just didn’t care. My advice is, if you value your belongings then never ever trust them with Allied Pickfords, they certainly show no evidence of’the careful movers’

Unprofessional and Appalling Service
After Allied Pickford's rep visited our 3 bedroom property and assured us that they are professionals and will take care of our goods, we hired them to transport basic furniture and appliances to our new property 12 minutes away.
The movers arrived on time.
We were promised that all our mattresses will be wrapped in cover to ensure they stayed clean and hygienic during the move. THEY WERE NOT. Happy from beginning to end
From our first conversation with Tyler we were more than happy with the service we received. On the day of our move Tyler, Jesse, Paul and Nic did everything they could to make the move as smooth as possible. Even down to helping with suggestions as to where to place larger items of furniture to maximise light etc. Guys you were amazing and we cannot thank you enough.

Amazing service, more from movers than I’ve ever experienced.
I moved from interstate, into a two story townhouse. Very polite, and friendly people on the phone, and to deal with. Actual delivery date occurred two weeks earlier than estimated date. Not only that but the movers were early on the day too, and were extremely friendly, efficient and helpful. More was done for me, than has ever previously been done, in my experiences with other moving companies. They went above and beyond, and it was much appreciated. They really know how to manage the obstacles presented with stairs. Thank you :)

Nothing was too much trouble!
We moved our family home of 15 years. It was a big job and we had many boxes of books, plant pots, as well as the general household goods and collections of family treasures. Adam quoted the job and completely allayed
all my fears and worries about the move. He was calm, honest and genuine in all the dealings we had with him. On the day of the move, the removalists were just a wonderful team. They were punctual, careful and considerate of all our needs and did an amazing job. Thank you!

Our move was from Perth to Port Hedland.
3x2 house to a 2x1.
The move happened on time. I did feel once I signed the contract that the 'ask any questions' communication, friendliness stopped.
One of our draws had a leg snap off and it was just placed in the room, obviously they knew it broke because I found the leg in the draw, it would of been nice to be told about it. Other than that nothing else was broken.

One of the worst experiences of our lives.
Never have I been so stressed with moving. Crew were late apparently after an added job and they rushed with absolutely no regards to our valued possessions. Crew at other end commented it was packed very ordinary. Artwork, bikes etc was promised to be boxed but were covered with wet coverings left on driveway during the rain. ff spending more for a company that cares. Their motto is an absolute joke. They seriously need to look at their staff who obviously don’t respect the company mantra. No follow up from feedback. Took over 3 months from Sydney to NZ, zero communication when I repeatedly contacted them.
Worst decision using this shipping company. Took over 3 months to get my cartons delivered. They picked up early December from Sydney and then it sat in Sydney for months. I didn't get delivery in NZ until mid March. Should have built my own raft and floated it across myself.
They advertise on their website, 8-10 weeks for AUS to NZ, that's complete lies. In fact, on the phone the sales person told me its more like 4-6 weeks for delivery.
I started university here end of Feb and ended up having to buy a new computer, clothes, study gear etc.....Read more
. because my entire life was sitting in their depot. It didn't leave Sydney until mid February. I had 12 cartons from Sydney to NZ. The only communication I had with this company was when they wanted payment. As Soon as they were paid, communication stopped. I had to chase everything from the pick up date to paperwork and customs forms. The 'move coordinator' never got in touch, never responded to emails, it was not until I rang the NZ branch and had a whinge did they put me through to Aus to speak directly with him. He had no answers and didn't care. Told me 'it should be delivered in the next two weeks'. There are other movers who are better and give realistic time frames, I've used other companies before.1 comment

Best team ever
Great service from the Townsville team. Pick up was at 2 different locations, one being a storage facility and the other was a 3 bedroom house. Our house flooded in Feb 2022 and Allied Pickfords Townsville saved my sanity by coming in and packing what we had managed to save and took it all to the storage. We had to rent for 12 months while our house was fixed and when time came to move back I asked the Townsville team to help us move back in. They were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Will recommend to everyone who asks

Great worry free move.
The move started and finished on time.? The load was half a house full going to WA from Townsville. We had most of our gear packed and the movers did the rest for us.

Such an efficient service from start to finish
Very efficient on there response with a quote, very flexible, everything was done to a high standard with clear communication and customer service from start to finish was exceptional!
3 bedroom house from Perth to Kununurra, the move started on a Friday and was delivered more than 3,000K by the following week on Thursday. We also added the packing service which was great! Thank you to the amazing crew

Dreadful service, no care and no responsibility
Move from Perth to Hobart in Jan 2020
Worse move experience we have ever had
- Perth packers dropped a TV, pretended it didn’t happen.
- Hobart unpacker didn't assemble furniture as per contract, screws, and bolts missing from beds and furniture, didn't assemble furniture as per contract.
- TV that was dropped didn’t work, three months still no resolution or offer of compensation no replies to emails.
- Truck Driver tried to back-up our steep driveway after warnings not to, tore up and destroyed the drive, no compensation or even an apology, currently taking them to the small claims court in an attempt to recover repair costs....Read more
Tas Manager and Hobart Subcontractor are some of the rudest people I have ever dealt with, complete disregard for customers. Allied Pickford just ignores all communication at all levels and hopes the customer will just give up seeking compensation. Arrogant inflexible and not interested in working with our move
I am not able to comment on Allied Pickfords actual moving services as I didn’t get past the quote stage. We have a 4 bedroom house with a lot of antiques and heavy furniture. It is never going to be an easy move but the man who quoted the job just didn’t want to listen to me or consider what I thought the inherent difficulties of this move would be ie the need for smaller trucks(steep driveway) and to mobilise enough men to move all the furniture and boxes in one 12 hour day not the 4 days he insisted on etc. When I explained that Allied Pi...Read more
ckford quote wasn’t feasible as we had moved all the same existing furniture 4 years I was told that maybe I needed to find a different mover although he declared that they would would not do as good a job! Easy to use service with all care taken to deliver goods in excellent condition
We relocated our four bedroom home eight hours out of Sydney to country NSW. From the moment we met the consultant who quoted on the job to the last box being delivered the service and attitude of the Allied staff was great. Cannot say enough about the lead removalist who picked up and dropped off our goods, he was superb!

Terrible experience
This is the first time I've left a review for a service which is an indication of how bad I found this experience. I chose Allied Pickfords because I thought they were a reputable company but I was mistaken. Interaction with office staff from the Darwin end was confusing and unfriendly. Upon arrival of my goods in Sydney I discovered that some large items had simply been thrown into the truck with absolutely no packaging resulting in them being damaged or completely destroyed. troducing themselves, just shoving a checklist in my hand. After unloading a few boxes one of them refused to do any work because it was too hot meaning it took twice as long. They were careless when dumping the boxes in my room resulting in further damage of crockery. I completed the feedback survey with all this information and heard nothing back. The insurance application process is made extremely difficult and requires extensive written evidence that irreparable items cannot be repaired (who will do this for a lamp, for example?!) so I don't have much hope of any compensation. I did this exact move in reverse from Sydney to Darwin with a different company with absolutely no issues or damages so I know that this is not normal. Awful experience when moving is already so stressful and I don't want others to go through the same thing.2 comments

Best service and price out of several quotes received

Very disappointed
We engaged Allied Pickfords to move our household contents interstate. We chose the company believing a internationally known company would provide excellent service. We were let down. It started with the administrative staff. The items themselves were small but created a bad impression. Then packing day came. No show.
The two day pack was crammed into one day. Five workers over a 10 hour period the job was done.
Sucess? It would have been if various items showing a poor and rushed job hadn't happened.
Broken items due to bad wrapping, placement of items such as food with non food items and rubbish are examples I can present.

Some issues but happily resolved
I used Allied Pickfords for a move from Queensland to Adelaide. The estimate for delivery was 3-4 weeks and they managed to get it to Adelaide within 10 days.
While my move wasnt hiccup free, I got good resolution to my problem.
Kudos to the Emerald team though - they were incredibly helpful at every step.

Do not use! No accountability, customer service or care (particularly the Sydney office).
Used Allied Pickfords to move from Sydney to country Victoria. Cost $8000+ and was to take 3 days to arrive at our new home. It ended up taking 8 days with an extra $1000+ out of pocket. You think you have the protection and care of a multinational company that puts customers first, the reality is you get a small office that is all about the profit before customer.
1. Our container arrived 5 days late due to a train derailment (unfortunately but understandable)

Just to confirm, this derailment was not the tragic event resulting in 2 deaths, it was the freight derailment at Chiltern where fortunately no-one was injured

I believe she has to wait for the container to be filled before it is shipped.
With your experience on average how long will she have to wait for her container to be shipped to Tasmania I realise that you can not give me a definite time period I'm after an average.

I was asked to pay in full otherwise they would not come pick up so I did. when my goods arrived, 2 days before delivery they said they needed to add extra charges for difficult access (this was not previously discussed and to this day I still don’t know the basis of calculation). Again I had to settle the extra fees in full before delivery could take place. They said it’s their “company policy”.
