Once food is frozen can you put in a pot of boiling water to heat up content?

Around_Here

The bags will hold in boiling water, but placing frozen food in a bag in boiling water would generally be a no - especially if it is fresh meat. Depending what you are making it will most likely cook the outside of the food before it cooks the inside.

You could do a sous vide with food inside the bag if you kept the temp of the water down somewhat and the food defrosted.

Why won't our machine work with other brand vacuum bags. It vacuums ok but then doesn't keep the seal.

Not sure why but the dotted or textured bags are the only ones that work correctly. We even returned the first sealer thinking it was faulty but it turns out we were using the wrong bags.

I don't know for sure but I very much doubt it seeing it's an Aldi dedicated appliance and part of why they offer them at such a cheap price I would assume. So can't really help you Dave, sorry.

My Ambiano Vacuum food sealer is not very good. It doesn't always vacuum or it will vacuum and when I seal the air is back in the bag. I'm very disappointed with it and would not recommend this product to anyone. I'm probably going to give it away soon because I needed it last night, and all my food didn't get sealed.

I had the same problem, but fortunately managed to remedy it effectively by carefully removing the foam gaskets, rinsing under warm water, applying a *tiny* bit of liquid hand soap (in case grease was involved), rinsing, drip drying, then reinstalling. After this, the unit would hold vacuum firmly and proceed on to sealing.

Recently bought one, used it once went to use it again and it wont seal the bag and also wont suck all of the air out,but it will seal the bag with nothing in it,please help?

If you are closing the lid correctly Pat and it's still not sealing all the time or sucking out the air then it's either faulty or the bag's not sitting at the correct spot on the rubber seal. Try moving the bag so that the end of the bags falls just short of the top seal (when looking at it from the front of the machine). If everything is in the right position and the lid is closed properly then the suctioning should be strong and should take all the air out. If not I would think it's faulty and return it.

Charmaine

I agree with Louise. It could be that the end you want to seal is not positioned correctly. The instruction manual gives guidelines re how the plastic must be placed.
Also make sure the machine is closed properly. You should hear a click when you press down each corner to close the lid.
If all of that fails your machine is faulty and you can return it for a refund.

When I use the sealer....melted plastic sticks to the silver ribbon and wont seal properly until it is removed. How can I stop this?

I don’t think the sealer should be silver. Mine is covered by a brown woven material which actually protects the strip and stops the plastic from burning. Enquire at the ALDI store and if you have the receipt try another. Mine is fantastic think you just got one that wasn’t properly checked.

Beep

I double checked and yes the strip is silver. I don't think color matters as my brother in law also bought one and said I was trying to remove thesealed bag to quickl, so I tried again and it has been working just fine ever since. I hope this answer also helps some one else who may have the same situation. I love my sealer now.....thank you all.
Sincerely....very happy customer

Mine has done this on and off and usually find it is because there is food or liquid in the top part of the bag which stops the air getting in/out. Also clean the seal area including the little hole that is the vacuum.

Barbara H
Barbara H

Thank you Nicole for your suggestion I'll make sure it is clean then try again, It's been that long since I used it lol

Chrissi
Chrissi

Although the Ambiano is just about fool proof I would agree with Nicole’s suggestions. If you still have your receipt ALDI are fabulous with returning products. I always make sure if wanting to vacuum something that is liquid that I freeze first. I also wrap in a cheap freezer bag before vacuuming in the vacuum bag and take it out of the more expensive bag whilst still frozen so I can use the bag again, just a little shorter. This is very economical on the bags.

Trying to vacuum seal marinated meat for the freezer. Using the moist function and either the normal/gentle pressure, the marinade fills the drip tray, Does anyone have ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

2 answers
Laura R

I would recommend freezing the bag the night before (like, use a chip clip and freeze upright), then seal the next day. That's the best solution I've found.

Chrissi
Chrissi

I freeze the marinated meat first in a cheap freezer bag then vacuum pack. I even freeze sauces like Sate sauce and Pepper sauce for steak. I freeze first in plastic container then pop out, put in cheap freezer bag then vacuum pack to take when we go away. If freezing prawns you may sometimes need to wrap in something strong first so shells don’t pierce vacuum bags.

With meat I usually freeze then vacuum pack. Or dab meat dry first with paper towel and use gentle setting.
