Light Weight at the Expense of Durability

published

Model 91974 82cm spinner .The first trip with this bag the telescopic handle became jammed could not be used .There is a major design flaw with this handle, it is very weak and not strong enough to hold the handling these bags get . On the return trip there are now two tears on the fabric of the bag.
My wife's antler bag was on the same trip, is 4 years old and still looks like new
I would suggest to people not buy the American Tourister Applite 3.0S suitcase. I am very disappointed with my purchase. The company needs to make these handles a lot stronger so they don't bend and break so easily

Purchased in May 2021 at Bagworld for A$149.00.

Light as a feather

My old faithful large Antler two wheel case was damaged by an airline so I was issued with a replacement order. I have only used this 82cm Applite 3.0 case a few times so far, but I’m very happy with its performance. It can be unstable if the weight isn’t packed evenly over the bottom (wheel end) of the case, but the instability is far outweighed by the convenience of rolling the case on all four sturdy wheels. Its easily recognizable but not overly attention grabbing on the carousel (the perfect balance for me!) with its subtle green piping and wheel bases, and if it performs as well as the mid size American Tourister spinner that I use fortnightly for the last 3 years I’ll be very happy with it.

Purchased in May 2021 at Sweeney luggage for A$199.00.

Excellent Ultralight Large Luggage

published

My latest purchase from the American Tourister range is from the AppLite 3.0 series. This bag is feather-light (2.9kg) and can expand a further 30% with one large front panel pocket plus side and top carry handles. The bright fabric piping helps in locating my bag on baggage carousels. The soft-side case made from polyester fabric with 8 dual spinner wheels offers easy mobility. It rolls upright so there is no weight on my arm or shoulder and has a built-in TSA combination lock. Comes up an extendable trolley handle plus 10-year global American Tourister warranty.

I bought an American Tourister Applite 2.0 less than 2 years ago and am VERY unhappy with this purchase. The suitcase goes anywhere, except where I want it to go. I am just wondering if it is just due to the wheels, because they have changed those in version 3.0 - Anybody else have the same problems?

Yes - I've had the same problem. In fact 2 of the wheels on my 2.0 just melted whilst pushing the bag through some european streets on a hot day! Looks like the 3.0 wheels have been changed.
