They make the best laptops
On Friday 5th January 2018 I got this from Apple as a replacement for my MacBook Air 13" 2015 since I took it into the Apple Store in Doncaster on Tuesday morning 2nd January 2018 and the Wi-Fi wasn't working so they couldn't fix it.
Purchased in January 2021 at Apple Store Australia.

Mac is not too good
You might think that mac are good (which they are) but if you use them for more than a year they start being the crappy computer that makes people cry so if you want to get a good computer get Windows 10 on Dell™ or Acer™, HP etc :D

Best computer I've ever owned
I work as a software developer and network administrator, and I've got a lot of PCs laying around. I've got high and low end Windows machines, Apple laptops and desktops, tablets and more but nothing beats my Mid 2012 15" MacBook Pro (Non-Retina). This machine is a beast. The specs are great, performance is incredible, upgradability is no problem and usability is through the roof. The trackpad and keyboard are best I've ever used, and I've upgraded the stock 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD configuration to an i7 with 16GB RAM, a 240GB SSD and 1TB SSHD in th...Read more
e Optical Drive bay. This MacBook Pro is *FAST*, boots incredibly quick and I've had zero problems with it. Service is also key, and Apple's service is second to none. Once during Christmas I had spilled a beer on the keyboard of my MacBook Pro. The first thing I did is power it off and bring it to Apple. They tore the machine down and cleaned it out for free, the machine was covered under warranty but of course a beer spill isn't. Battery life is also golden and I haven't seen any real decline in longevity since I bought this Mac in 2013. All I can say is incredible, this was my first modern Mac and I can definitely say I won't be going back. Buying this Mac has inspired me to use Xserves and Mac Pros for my business and to buy an iMac at home for desktop use. I cannot describe how good these machines are.Similar opinion? Alright product.
This product is alright if you're not running too many programs. not worth paying the retail price for. it overheats alot but the features and functions are pretty cool! I like the layout and the operating software. very clean and neat. unable to play games at a fast pace and it has to be properly ventilated for it to not sound like its about to take flight!

Well worth it
Purchased my latest laptop & decided on a Mac (first time) as I have 2 other laptops 1 running windows 7, 1 running windows 8, I purchased the Mac pretty much based on the reviews I read & the fact I have iPhone & IPad retina model also, I have found over past five years with the iPhone the sales and service at Apple is better than anything else experienced.
If you can look past the cost of this Mac book Pro I7 15" $3500 which is a bit pricey compared to windows running machines it really is comparable to driving a Mercedes after driving a Hyundai.
Thoroughly recommend to any serious buyer.

The Lamborghini Of Laptops
I have been a computer tech for 20 years +. i know the insides as well as the outsides. I am not biased towards brands (I own over 10 computers) Before this purchase, i rated the Dell XPS m1730 as the best device i ever owned. the Dell cost me $3300 back in the day but that is all history, i have arrived in laptop heaven. the Apple Macbok Pro, the best computer I have ever owned. The i7 with 8gb of ram laughs at anything i throw at it, it purrs. The build quality is superb. The performance is superb. The Display... its superb.

Best Laptop I ever brought
Moving out of Windows to Mac, the best decision I ever make.
It is fast and easy to use and come with free Office (Numbers, Pages and Keynote).
Update and patches is seamless with lesser Security Issues to worry about.
It easily out run an much better configured W530 with 32GB RAM and SSD with higher resolution > FHD, lower RAM of 16GB, and nearly half the weight if you consider the huge charger that I need to carry around with the W530.
Fast, Good Performance and Light Weight compare to an equivalent Windows Laptop.
Compatibility as we're still living in Windows World.

Love my Mac, and I won't go back Mac
I have had my Mac book pro now for just under 2 years and totally love it. I was recommended to Mac by everyone I spoke to including Mac competitors. However I was reluctant because I had always been a PC person but now that I have it I totally understand why it's the way to go. I use mine for photos and nothing provides the clarity and ease of operation that these do.
Great for photo editing, display screen is awesome, no viruses, amazing computer.
Should have paid the extra for solid state hard drive

3 hard drives failures within 18 months
I switched from PC to Mac around 7 years ago and ever since have been one of those annoying Apple snobs that tell people that they are insane for persisting with PCs and the various annoyances of Windows. That was until I purchased this Macbook.
Since Apple have become so massive and no longer a niche brand that only creative people bought, their quality control and their care factor has gone down the toilet.
I purchase a $2400 Macbook pro 18 months ago and in that time the hard drive has died 3 times. I am now using hard drive number 4....Read more
And on each occasion, Apple tell me that I have just been 'unlucky' and that 'hard drives can die at any time'. This is rubbish - Apple just dont want to replace my Macbook - Clearly this computer is a Lemon but they would rather replace my hard drive every few months than concede that. Apple do make decent products and whether your are buying a car, a TV or any other product, there is always the chance that you are buying a Lemon - which is exactly what I have purchased.Similar opinion? The only computer you will ever need...
I am mac user for 6 years now. I use to build computers myself. I repair laptops. I know my staff. Macs are indeed amassing. Excellent quality, they are silent! Metal body, great screen. If you are Mac newbee it will take you some time to get use to the new system, but if you have iPhone it helps.
Silent and great quality

First time Mac user
The more and more I use my Mac the happier I become . It's a delight for many extreme uses, I make music using a few powerful programs like ableton live and it never has issues when constructing my sound studio and handles better in that regard than pc's worth much more .. Also the way it handles programs like photoshop cs5 and most games are good too . And once you get used to it, it's very user friendly . The reason I gave it 4 stars is the fact that it is not that easy to find any program your looking for on a Mac you sometimes have to jum...Read more

Cracked screen
The screen on my Macbook Pro cracked while I was cleaning it with a microfibre cloth. No excess pressure was used, and the laptop had always been taken very good care of. When I took it into the Chermside Apple Store, they refused to admit that the glass used was faulty, and accused me of "punching the screen" to make it crack. Shame on you Apple and shame on your customer service.
Great machine, have always used Apple products. However I feel this will be my last.
Weak glass used on screen. Bad customer Service.

Will you get the use out of it for the cost?
Such a great computer! It has the amazing ability to do so much more than you think. Like others have stated the cost is incredible so be sure you are going to get what you need out of it before you go spending lots of money. The graphics are amazing, the keyboard is smooth and the screen is so clear. It's quick and easily portable. Especially with a lot of people having Iphones these days, it's great to have this too.

Not something I would spend my money on.
Every teacher at my school has one.
It needs an adapter to connect to VGA or HDMi to a TV. The adapters always stuff up.
I am the IT person in my class who always helps people who have problems with their computers. The problems are they freeze when only doing small stuff which require very low processing. It doesn't always get the screen resolution right when connecting to a TV like my Other computer does which i love so then I don't have to do it myself. So i have to go into settings to get the resolution right.
It is a pain in the back.
It can movie edit
Everything freezes, slow, waste of money. ect

It's true! You'll never go back! Even if you're over 50!
My computer use is really limited to facebook, emails, banking and writing reviews so when my husband took me shopping for a replacement for my old, dead computer I was surprised to find him at the Apple stand.
Don't get me wrong. I've always loved them and anyone I know that's made the switch will say "Once you go Mac you never go back!" But how much better could it be? And would it justify the extra dollars?
I'm sure that owning my new MacBook is a bit like having a Ferrari and using it to drive to the shops! There's probably a whole lo...Read more
t of things this baby can do that I'll never even discover. I'm still very happy with the purchase. The first thing you'll notice is how quickly this machine starts up. My old PC was so slow I used to go and make a cup of tea while it warmed up! I was concerned that it would take me a while to make the switch from a desk top computer with an ergonomic keyboard to a laptop but I've had no problems. I still find typing a bit awkward because the keys are above the touchpad but my husband assures me that if I ever get around to writing the great Australian novel he can plug my old keyboard into my new laptop. I thought the touchpad would be a challenge so I bought a mouse. I shouldn't have bothered. It took me all of three days to get used to the touch pad and it's an excellent feature for those of us with ageing eyes; I can zoom in on anything with the touch of two fingers.Similar opinion? Excellent - except for one MAJOR issue!
Since buying this new about 1 year ago I've had problems with the wifi (Airport connection). It drops out randomly and is sometimes quite slow. A temporary fix is to either restart the machine, disconnect and reconnect, or delete the Airport keychain and re-enter your password. Sometimes one of these works, sometimes not. After fixing it will work fine until the next time you close the lid and resume using the machine.
I have several other machines connected to my home network without any problems, including much older Windows laptops, Andro...Read more
id phones and 3 iPhones. The problem occurs with some Macbook Pros and certain wireless routers, and is a known problem among Macbook owners using Snow Leopard and Lion. Unfortunately, Apple refuses to acknowledge the problem despite thousands of Macbook owners reporting it. It if weren't for this issue, the Macbook Pro would get 5 stars. The router I use is a D-link DIR-615. If you have one of these be prepared to replace it as neither D-link or Apple has a solution to this problem. Wifi issuesSimilar opinion? Macbook Pro is awesome.
I purchased a 13" Macbook Pro about 2 years ago. I was shopping for a windows laptop however I was talked around by a sales person. The Mac is awesome, I will never go back to a PC. It took a little getting use to but it certainly was't difficult, everything is so common sense. Since purchasing the Mac and discovering how easy it is to use I have purchased an ipod, Time Machine, an iphone and Office Mac. I thought the iphone was so much hype but when you discover the world of Apple you soon realise why the company is growing so rapidly. My only...Read more

Excellent
Apple's Macbook Pro is a great product. I would recommend it to anybody. Excellent graphics. A lot more reliable than windows. However, you can still install windows on it instead of snow leopard if you prefer.
Excellent product. Well design. Powerful Intel Core Duo. I never regret changing to Apple. Great warranty on the Apple care protection plan as well. I cannot live without my Apple MacBook Pro.
Take a bit of time to learn to get used to if you were a windows user. However, Apple's computers are in fact a lot more simple and easy to use. Once you get use to it you'll really enjoy using.
