My bub is almost 6 month old and has no issues on aptamil profutura 1 ..... do I have to change to #2?

I don't know if it is essential, but I guess formula in different stages provide different nutrition, even different amount for the same nutrition. I always change to another stage. I hope it helps.

Nutricia Careline T.Aptamil

Hi Rebekka, thank you for your enquiry. Some people choose to leave their babies on the stage 1 until they are 12 months, some choose to just wait until their babies are established on solids over 6 months and some change to the next stage at the corrected age of the baby. All this is perfectly fine, the stage 1 is fine to use til the 12 months. If you would like more information please call us on 1800 060 057.

Hi! I used to use aptamil gold + and have recently started to try aptamil profutura and was wondering why the water amounts are different. At 4 months the gold + says to give 5 scoops for 250ml whereas the profutura says to give a 4 month old 3 scoops at 150ml. Why is the amount less? Is this enough for her after he has been drinking 250ml?

Hi Tyler, the Aptamil Profutura and the Aptamil Gold + formulas are very similar but the main difference is that only the Profutura range contains added probiotics. Hello. My baby is 7mo and i am using aptamil profutura. As i am out of Australia nowadays. And i brought maximum boxes with me. But i think they are going to be finish soon. And here aptamil pronutura is available only. What should i do ? Can i replace profutura with pronutura. Is there any difference between them?

Yes, you can. As you know there is a shortage of aptamil in australia i used to switch between these two. I used to buy whatever was available and had no issues. But now I am frustrated of searching aptamil on every shop i lnow as its very hard to find in Australia, Finally I started karicare which is available in all the shops and all the time on much reasonable price. Karicare is from the same company but different brand and my baby accepted karicare with no fuss.

Hi I am currently using aptamil Gold for my 10 week old baby and am moving to Ireland soon, however, they do not sell this there...what is the best to use there that is the most similar? They have aptamil and aptamil profutura?

As I could remember, they sell aptamil and profortura in Britain. I think the situation would be similar in Ireland.

Aptamil
Nutricia Careline T.Aptamil

Hi there, The Aptamil Gold+ in Australia is equivalent to the Aptamil range in Ireland. You can use the Aptamil First Milk. The Aptamil First Milk is made with locally sourced ingredients so may taste a little different from the the Australian Aptamil. You can mix the 2 together to transition from one to the other. Just make sure you use the correct water to scoop ratio for each one. You can find out more about the formulas in Ireland on the following website www.aptaclub.ie. My baby has been on Aptamil Good since birth and mix fed. We tried Profutura in week 2 as she was struggling when passing a bowel movement and it was a lot better. This is our third tin of Profutura And now she's pooing every feed (even during a feed) and it's mucusy and stretchy. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hey Sandy,
Being a new mum is hard! Trying to work out formulas is even harder! We started on S26 which we quickly changed to Aptimal Allerpro cause I was told by the chemist it was the best.. little did I know it was the best they had there! So I went to the Aptimal Profuture.. and it was great for awhile then I think I got a random batch and it was like I had a different baby.. so I have now gone to Karicare.. I think the Aptimal Profuture was just too rich for my baby! I know that sounds weird.. but I really did want to buy the best for her.. I just think it was too heavy on her tummy! There isn't much difference between the Aptimal ProFutura and the Gold 1.. except for $5 in price!
Hope this helps!

To be honest I was advice to not buy anything with gold in it as it has extra things that baby might not be able to digest properly. S26 has everything baby needs. All other formulas made my girl ill :(

Any info on why the new formulation of the gold +1 is so frothy? The bottle is full of foam on top of the milk, very hard to tell when bub has finished the milk and is sucking down foam and therefore lots of air causing painful wind. I was lucky to find 2 tins of the original formulation today but I dread when I have to use the new formulation again. It made my bub very windy and in pain. Is the company looking at the excess foam being a problem, and is it going to be fixed? We've finally found a formula he's happy on (the original formulation though, not the super foamy one), I don't want to have to change again.

Zachsmum, would be nice to see aptimil response as they keep sayon those notes to cal them. When I call them to confirm why they changes, they told me they did not change the formula only the sourse of the milk (which is apparently now sources in NZ). I would like to see an honest answer as the new formula is not as good as the old one, also poop smells very bad on new formula

Have you tried swirling the bottle's content around instead of shaking it? I used to do that with my first baby and did not end up well with lots of wind and sore tummy. I've never shaken the bottle with my second baby and we've never had issues.

Can someone tell me the actual difference between aptamil gold + 1 and aptamil profutura 1 please? My 11 week old has been on aptimal gold + 1 but I'm finding it difficult to find it anywhere. Our woolies always has stock of the profutura (so far anyway), so if I'm unable to get the gold +, would it be ok to use the profutura instead?

I would love to know that as well. The company charges $5 more for the aptimil profutura and when I looked at the nutritional values between the 2 gold plus and profutura everything was the same. So I am not sure how can justify charging people more just because they change the name on the box

I got a reply from the aptamil helpline. Apparantly the profutura has a probiotic in it and the gold + 1 doesn't. Thats about the only difference i was told.

I noticed as well that the Aptimil Profutura after therecent change in ingridients has become super foamy. with regards the throwing up we had a little to start with but it soon passed away.

Said that, I am not sure if you have compared thenutritional values of Aptimil Gold & Aptimil Profutura but I think they are the same. So I am unsure of what is actually the difference between the 2 type of formula.
