Terrible
Audi is a great manufacturer and even after an issue with our A4s CVT gearbox, we went straight back to Audi for our next car (an A3) but this time for a manual. The CVT is rubbish and I read on the web that the newer DSG is just as bad. The issue is they break mechanically and/or te computer. Ours started playing up due to a computer issue where the computer could not work out what geat the lever was in so assumed we were in neutral. Thankfully this was never an issue while driving, only when reversing but the dealer said other customer had ha...Read more
d issues when driving (the car suddenlt deciding it needed to be in neutral). Its apparently a common issue so strongly recommend you avoid the CVT/DSG and get a manual or buy a BMW if you want an auto. The cost we were quoted by te dealer for a new computer, $3500 and apparently a mechanical issue is even more. We did some research and foumnd lots of comments online to the same effect and apparently there has been some recalls in the US Dont get me wrong, love the audi with the exception of the auto boxes, the manual is a delifght to drive and could not find one negative comment online about it. Rating 1/5 for the CVT and 5/5 for price, quality, etc. Overall 1/5 just because of the CVT Ride, build quality, instrumentation, fuel economy, breaks and steering CVT gearbox is rubish from standing start and breaks + very expensive to fixSimilar opinion? Good car, but not class leader....yet
I went to the Gold Coast for holidays and was offered an Audi A4 B8 MY2011 by the rental company. Having driven a B6 model about 8 years ago and currently drive a C class, I jumped at this opportunity to test the car for 2 weeks.
First impressions of the car was very good. I love the aggressive stance when you see this coming straight at you in your rear view mirror. The grille and the angry slanty headlights complete the picture. The car had the right proportions on the wheel arches and it feels larger than its 3 series/C class competit...Read more
or. The interior did not disappoint. Good build quality, solid and refined. Chunky yet classy. My only complaint was that I couldn't understand that for a front wheel drive, why did they have to make a transmission tunnel between the front and rear seats? The fuex tunnel meant that the 5th passenger had to be either a 3 year old or an adult without legs. The car could do with a bit more boot space as the shape of the rear end limited the vertical depth of the boot. The driver's seating position makes you feel like it is a fighter jet, very ergonomic, and switches were well laid out. When I returned the car, I had covered almost 3,000km, and I can tell you that I was smiling like a little kid for every mile I drove.

Wonderful! Sold on the brand.
This is a lovely car.
Exterior. This is such a personal thing but while not being a head turner it has classic, well thought out lines and the body fit is exceptional. The sort of car you look at and think,"That's a damn fine looking car", ...and then realise it's yours. Colours are fairly conservative other than red but the grey (forgotten the name) changes with the weather, like the sea.
The inside is beautifully designed and like an Apple product everything (well, almost) is understated and just works. perhaps like other new cars you t...Read more
end to set things and then forget...which is how it should be. Auto headlights? Why would you wants anything else. Electric seat adjustment. Set once, then forget. As a new car buyer the Audi folk treat me like a special customer and support and service is exceptional. I suspect they treat everyone the same. My only tiny gripe is that when using the SD card option for music one has to be careful of the format (MP3 only, so far) otherwise it doesn't want to play, literally! My next car will be... ...an Audi. Very fuel efficient, nice pick up for a 1.8 and seems to get you to legal speed quicker than you think. Occasional lurch on takeoff.Similar opinion? Excellent
Sensational car to drive. I test drove a lot of brands and this was the best in all areas. Fuel economy is great...better than I expected. It's a pleasure to get into every day which is a lot more than I can say for many other cars I have had in the past. I will buying another Audi when time comes for an upgrade.
2 litre Turbo. Great pick up with limited turbo lag. Gearbox in both Auto and Manual mode very smooth and quick through changes. Overall ride is great.
Rolls downhill when trying to drive forward or reverse up on a slight hill making it hard to reverse park on a hill when there is little room.

We had a new Fairlane before this which we loved but with no kids at home we sold it within three years for this Audi. Bought it as second owner. Good for three years then engine seized. Cost was going to be prohibitive but as it had ONLY EVER been serviced by an Audi service centre, Audi sent a new engine from Germany, free, and our local dealer installed it for cost. Can't ask for better than that!
Compact luxury, lots of legroom in front, big boot, best front seats ever, love it
expensive repairs. The paint finish on the dash is too easily mark by fingernails.

Good
I have the 3.2 coupled to the Multitronic Transmission. It hesitates and has a major flat spot on take off. After many complaints and attempts to do something Audi finally claimed this was normal! Very frustrating and disgusting for a vehicle costing over $120,000.
Superb looks and finish
CVT transmission terrible on take off. Front Tyres had to be replaced at 17000Ks

With the price of petrol rising and the amount of speed cameras the Audi A4 2.0T Quattro is an excellent option for those wanting a quick punchy, awesome handling and great looking machine to drive. If you can afford it I recommend you at least test drive it. I have mostly owned V6's & V8's locally built cars but todays with what is available this would be in my opinion the new beasty road machine on the road that uses by far less fuel than a V8 and less than a V6 yet still accelerates with heaps of power. If price is out of your reach then che...Read more
ck out the VW Golf GTI has the same 2.0T engine but no Quattro system. I picked my Audi A4 Quattro 2.0Turbo a few months ago and it is an awesome vehicle. Comfortable to sit in as the sports seats hug you. The power and acceleration of a sports car, great fuel economy, handles like a dream in both dry and wet conditions which will get you out of a sticky situation. The 6speed manual is very easy and fun to use. Excellent navigation system and everything lights up sp you can see what you are doing at night. Right now... nothing. Bit pricy but worth every cent.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
