What oils can I use on my new Baccarat ID3 cookware I got for Christmas? Some of these reviews are really worrying me that my kids shouldn’t have brought your product !
1 answer
According to the people in house you can’t use any spray oils or any oil on a high heat. Change the product if possible sorry to say

I have a 25cm pan. After cooking, the black coating on the rear of the pan has a powdery surface that wipes off when washing or drying and leaves horrible black "stuff" on the washcloth/tea towel. Is this normal???
Not using acidic oils or high heat.
1 answer
Definitely not normal. Sounds to me as though the coating is coming off. I purchased a set of these pans about 18 months ago and use them on an induction cook top. The product is rubbish and certainly not fit for purpose.
most of my saucepans/frying pans are losing their non stick surface, one has distorted.
Other reviews I have read suggests that there are many other customers who have experience the same thing and it was even suggested to some of them that they should not be using Olive oil! How ridiculous is that and typical of the responses you will get from the manufacturer/retailers of this product.
I am gradually replacing mine with Raco or Waddell and Davies products, they are dearer but cook in half the time on an induction cooker at least and no issues with the non stick surfaces.
the other alternative is to buy something real cheap from Big or Safeway, they will last at least as long or longer than the Baccarat ID3. Probably not what you want to hear but this is my experience

Can i use my id3 glass lid pan in the oven..??
1 answer
You could put it in the oven up to 180 degrees, though I wouldn't recommend going beyond that.

Do the ID3 products contain horrible nasties such as the PTFE or PFOA's??
1 answer
Don’t know but they lose their coating very quickly and are useless to use on an induction cooktop because higher settings have to be used to get a reasonable cooking time. Have literally thrown my set which was 15 months old into the rubbish bin.

Why did the coating lift off my baccarat baking dish?

Three possibilities: the scourer you are using is too intense and not designed for your pot. Your are using metal utensils when stirring or mixing. You have a lemon
This is a very vague question. You have not explained if it is in one patch or the whole surface area. Take it back to the store where you bought it, with your receipt as it comes with a ten year warranty. Despite what I have read here I have found the QLD rep to be great

Can I use my non stick pans in the oven also can they be placed in the dishwasher?

Hi, not sure if they can be put in an oven. They can put put in a dishwasher though.
tHEY CAN BE PUT IN THE OVEN. We did. They say they are dishwasher safe.. however playcorp are extremely difficult to deal with and never take the blame or manufactures fault. so beware.

I've just purchased a Baccarat iconix s/steel frypan for $65.00 @ 50% off. No instructions on what utensils to use or what oils to cook with or if it needs to be seasoned? After reading everyone's comments I'm a bit paranoid, is that only for non-stick pans?
1 answer
Utensils should not matter on a stainless steel pan and you do not need to season the pan. As for oils use one with a high smoke point as it will not burn to pan and become impossible to get off. Rice bran oil, avocado oil and peanut oil are oils with a high smoke point.

What's the warranty as the bottoms are falling off the pans and they are 12 months old?
2 answers
I am pretty sure it's a lifetime warranty (but you may need proof of purchase).
It is a lifetime guarantee. My initial replacement was a full replacement, and I did need proof of purchase. The store (House) told me that they would not replace any more if I continued to wash it in the dishwasher. I was ill one evening and decided to take the risk, so put the new pan in the dishwasher, only to discover the bottom was coming off again - after only one wash. This pan was only about six weeks old. My next move was to email Baccarat. They requested photos and after a fairly long delay I did receive another pan - the Granite griddle pan - in the mail from Baccarat. This pan has a different bottom to the other but I'm not game to put it in the dishwasher. Fortunately it is easy to clean. So it seems their lifetime guarantee holds but I still maintain that the iD3 griddle pan is definitely not dishwasher safe.

We have an induction cook top..Kleenmaid..and cannot get the water to boil using this Baccart ID3 cookware .... Help please ?!

After many emails and threatening baccarat, which I didn't want to do, they agreed to check the set. They found out three of the pieces had bowed and therefore weren't having contact with the cooktop properly. They sent me a nonstick set as a replacement as I didn't want the same set again (and they weren't keen on offering it again) All the pieces are smaller and I don't like having non stick, however they wouldn't refund me the money, saying they were only doing it out of 'goodwill' . I told them guarantee is not goodwil! All the best, dodgy company, however my two other pieces bought earlier are ok. will never buy their products again. Have had great service with Analon and Circulon (not induction, but great product and service) Hope this helps
I had exactly the same problems as nellycb but as I had moved house I had lost the proof of purchase and without that the retailer would not do anything. Absolutely useless for induction cookers, I have already got rid of most of mine to the tip.

Any comments on the Baccarat iD3 34cm x 24cm roaster and grill combo
3 answers
No sorry. Haven't used any other Baccarat products.
I have not tried the iD3 roaster/grill combo. My only problem with the iD3 saucepan was its unsuitability for induction cooktops, even though it said it was OK for all all cooking surfaces. The iD3 range is anodised aluminium alloy, which needs iron in the base to make the induction work. There was clearly not nearly enough iron in my saucepan. If you are only using the iD3 combo in an oven or on non-induction cooktops I expect it would be fine. If you do want Induction capability I would be checking out the Baccarat combo SKU: 1006831 in stainless steel with non-stick "beehive" coating (whatever that is).
Correction: The website says that in the Entree range only the stockpots are suitable for induction, so the combo SKU: 1006831 that I mentioned above is presumably NOT suitable for induction.
