Couldn’t withdraw money that I urgently needed online as the app wasn’t functioning. Tried to call the online number… was told that no one was available to take my call. Was then told At the branch that to receive my funds they had to charge me for withdrawing in branch before sending me off with the wrong authentication code.
Then spent one hour on the phone attempting to rectify… couldnt fix the branch mistake… specialist then had to call back an hour later to try to fix the problem again.

All BOQ employees are rude and make out like your money is there’s, unfriendly rude, incompetent simpletons that charge fees that no other bank does. They are the worst out of any company on the planet. The way the old dog-ladies at MtGravatt and stones cnr and especially Gasworks is appalling. I’ve been with this mob for 10 years and I can’t believe how terrible the online banking is, I’ve had my card locked 3 times in as many weeks trying to shop online. When I have to call to unlock it, I’ll be on hold for a MINIMUM 35 mins. Terrible service, terrible banking. Consider my business lost.

I paid a trailer rego of $67 to dept of transport. Ref no. And I'd was correct and it went through correctly, but there was an issue with were the transfer was not correct so the money was sitting in credit against my name at dpt of transport against the said rego. Qld transport corrected the problem easily . I paid the fee again and they were crediting the old 67 back to me. $67 WAS CREDITED BACK, but what I don't understand is why bank of qld charged me $30 for a bpay refund. If I had this I would have had transport leave there as payment in advance. $30 fee for a correct bay payment and a supplyer refunding due to supplier

I find mobile banking very frustrating, it's keeps saying it's not working, when we install and uninstall, you have to write all your details. Other mobile banking sites update you when banking needs to be service. This has been multiple times now.
I do not find mobile banking helpful if I can't see how much I got in there.
Phone waiting time is unacceptable to reset your password. Having looked through previous reviews it appears they don’t value customers feedback as they have done nothing improve customers concerns. Very disappointed!!!!!

We have had the displeasure of dealing with Bank of Queensland over the last two years. During the time we had our mortgage with them, we experienced incorrect fees, mistaken charges and poor customer service.
Many of the issues we experienced over two years could have been avoided with effective customer service, but there is a systemic attitude of indifference and laziness rife throughout the organisation. Slightly lower rates for much lower service and un-useable app with a side of lies
We joined this bank after refinancing our home loans as BOQ had competitive rates. Shortly after, we downloaded the app and were very disappointed. The app is incredibly bad and makes day to day banking a nightmare. This is reflected in the low rating on the app store and I wish we had checked that beforehand and admit we wouldn't have joined BOQ if we had known this - that's how bad the app is. Skip to September 2021 and no new app. We had been told it was just around the corner many time since we first asked over 2 years ago and after reading reviews this was the same lie they were telling other customers. This coupled with long hold times whenever calling, unusual amount of accidental hang-ups after long hold times, outdated annoying identity security process, and an equally bad online banking site make this bank not worth the 0.09% better rate. I called twice today 4/10/2021 to enquire about BOQ Secure as I have changed mobile phone. First time waited for over 45 mins and the call was either hung up or dropped off. Currently trying for the second time and was answered after 43mins. Appalling !!

Can only withdraw $5000 at a time (even though it is your money). You HAVE to go into the branch to request a security token & then phone a number. I have been on the phone for 63 minutes - nobody has even picked up yet! Do not bank with these cowboys!

I have been using BOQ before it was BOQ in Western Australia. The last 2 visits into the Mandurah branch have been friendly, professional and welcoming. The lovely lady that served us made my wife and I feel comfortable about using this bank again. For so many years it has felt that banks want you in and out as quick as possible and aren't worried about what your needs are. Rachael from Mandurah made sure all our banking needs were meet before we left.

Tried to change the daily transfer limit, it is very complex compared to CBA
Tried to get to talk to someone over the phone more than hour waiting.

This provider should be ashamed. Their online interface is completely insufficient and outdated and their phone staff are rude and frankly couldn't care less. I have just sat on hold for over an hour, only to be told that if I wanted faster service I should consider attending a branch. Disgusting. I cannot wait to be rid of this bank. I will never be a customer again.

I reluctantly came back to BOQ after my extremely bad experience when I left a few years ago when I refinanced with Westpac. My very first homeloans were with BOQ and when I decided to leave because they wouldn't match Westpac's lower interest rates, I was appaled at the treatment I received from the Byron Bay Branch customer service team (they were rude, unhelpful, wouldn't send me any of the docs I needed to exit my loan) - the saving grace were the lovely people at the Toowong branch who were absolutely wonderful and super helpful and helped...

I decided to refinance through a broker (Refinancer), and after looking at various banks, I decided to go back to BOQ because I thought everyone deserves a second chance. The brokers were wonderful, I signed everything with plenty of time and my refinance date was booked for the 2nd of August. To get a call from my broker advising that BOQ had told them that my interest rate was going up on the 29th of July - TWO business days before my settlement, was disgraceful, and caused me a LOT of stress. I was told I could pay a $1000 lock in fee to lock in the ORIGINAL interest rate (on a fixed interest rate for 2 years) was absolutely unprofessional. I was ready to go cancel everything and stay with Westpac, but if it wasn't for my broker who talked to BOQ and then BOQ decided to honour the original interest rate, I would have definitly stayed with Westpac even copping the extra fees of cancelling a loan contract. Completely unfair and unprofessional from a bank such as BOQ to try and do this, increase my interest rate TWO business days before my settlement. The next issue - I was told that I wouldn't be charged the home loan fees of $300 per loan - and guess what, THEY WERE CHARGED! I had to again contact my broker, who ended up talking to BOQ, and they refunded me the fees. You would think this would be enough yes, well no. I received a letter from BOQ stating that my interest rate (on a FIXED LOAN) had gone up from 1.89% to 2.09%, two days after settlement (on the 4th of August). Really? My broker again had to contact BOQ, who, after a week, still had no idea what had happened. I decided to contact BOQ myself, and after an hour of waiting on the phone, they told me that it was a mistake and that my original interest rate of 1.89% is what I was on. So, after hours of phone calls, contacting the bank myself, and STRESS, I would NOT recommend BOQ to my friends and family. I can't wait for this 2 year period to end so I can refinance with another bank.- 2 reviews

Have always been to slack to change.
They are always 2 years behind every other bank in Australia (apple lay, osko payments)
I’ve just had the worst experience with them yet. Going to buy a new car (cash) rang ahead (52 minutes on hold) and set up bank for the large transfer (they still couldn’t set it up as one payment and told me i’d have to do multiple payments (annoying but whatever). I'm trying to reconcile apparent discrepancies in my account but cannot get through to their telephone help. I have tried ringing several times each day for the last three days, held in a queue for an hour each time, periodically told I was progressing in the queue, but never actually connecting to an operator as I had to hang up every time. Is there actually someone there to answer calls?
This is shockingly poor customer service with regards to telephone assistance.

credit card bonus points taking more than 3 months to be credited, and staff tried to trick me into spending criteria not met, escalated to complaint department and no solution provided other than sorry wrong information given and please keep on waiting ……

I am getting older now. Who knows what's around the corner. I don't want to spend my last good days holding on the line waiting for phone support. Would it be possible to improve phone support? Sure. Slow phone support is a financial decision made by BOQ.
Phone UBANK this morning and response times were much better.
Try UBANK would be my advice.

Why would I bother going with them when they don't bother answering calls in a reasonable time? I genuinely wondering why are people staying with this bank?
Terrible banking assistance both in the bank and telephone banking. It is not unusual to wait about an hour for telephone assistance and in the usual huge queue lines in the bank. The staff never get back to you as promised. They do not advise where you are in the telephone queue or how long you have to wait just advise we are working hard to answer your call &... Your are progressing in the queue we will be with you shortly... even after an hours wait. Their customer care and satisfaction is arrogantly non existent.
“Forced” to open staff account with boq when I was their staff, last mobile update was 3 years ago can you imagine ? This bank is bunch of craps, end up finding a new job at difference company finally get rid of them forever do not work or bank for them!

Continuous issues logging into my online account

Which would be ok if they had enough branches but they don't. It's so hard finding a branch near by
