Loyal customer now fed up with BOQ
I have been a loyal customer at BOQ having a savings account for 12 years. Dont get me wrong BOQ have made hundreds or even thousands of dollars over this time in exchange from my savings account. But recently receiving a Dish Fee of $15 due to financial problems and they didnt give me a grace period to pay it back, why??? Not even one day so i can pay it back, staight away my account is overdrawn now.

rs with excellent service even remembering my name, I asked if they can fix this so i can view my transactions but there seemed to be a sudden change of attitude now that i dont have money in my account. They printed me out a transaction update but this is NOT going to help i said, i need the account unblocked so i can view the transactions myself. Why was it it so hard for them to do this? They told me to check your balance on the ATM but once again the atm meessage said to contact the support or visit your local branch for assistance. I dont want to keep explaining the same thing over and over again like a headless chook. My account is not overdrawn now but still i cannot use the account. No help at all being a loyal customer, it feels like you have money in your account well happy days ill be nice to you, now you have no money here is a hypothetical middle finger. In mid January 2020 I contacted BOQ to enquire about my new Visa Debit card as my current card was due to expire 02/20. I was advised not to worry as the card won't expire until end of February and that a new card will automatically be issued by then. d. That was end January 2020. When after nearly two weeks no new card appeared I contacted BOQ yet again advising my concern at end of February looming and was advised no new card has been ordered reissued as yet and that it may take up to 2nd week of March for this to happen! I was horrified advising I was already experiencing problems using my card and that by then it would be useless. She reassured me that the card would remain useable until around mid March and if she issued me a new card now it would be different numbers to my old card so I would need to change direct debits etc. I chose to wait and wait. I contacted BOQ again on 28/2/20 in a state of panic as the end of February is tomorrow and still no new card! This time I was told that due to mail that was returned to BOQ previously from my address which I had no knowledge of at all and explained that I have lived at same address for 25 years and never been contacted by BOQ to query. My address was reconfirmed and my new card was issued with same numbers as my old card. On 2/3/20 I was stranded at a service station unable to pay for petrol due to an expired card surprise surprise! I contacted the bank again to a) confirm my new card was actually issued on 28/2 and on it's way to me and b) to let the bank know that the card does not remain active past expiry date (as they kept on insisting it would) and c) that I was embarrassed to be waiting at the servo for a friend to come and pay for my petrol! So while I am waiting by the mail box for my new card to arrive, i have to travel to BOQ branches to actually withdraw money the old fashioned way and to try to remember I have to use cash which I don't ever carry. I advised the bank I will close my accounts if my card isn't in my hands by 9/2 and lodged a complaint. I am still totally perplexed at how no assistance was provided to an obviously distressed customer who tried to avoid this gross inconvenience occurring and not one person apart from the lady I spoke to on 28/2 listened to me.Similar opinion? Poor service
I have been with the BOQ for 10 years. I put up with their slow - in fact manually done - online overseas transfers. Within Australia, the services were like any other bank, no better, no worse. Two years ago I requested an admininstrative change to my account, so far not done.
To have franchised branches looked like a good idea until my account was transferred 3 times because the account holding branch closed, was renovated, removing asbestos etc.. Termination of my account was the best thing I have done.

The app is hopeless for monitoring account balances
I've always loved BOQ until recently. It is so hard ro monitor my bank balance as debits don't appear quickly. I check knowing that I have direct debits about to go through, it looks like I have plenty to cover, then I check a few days later and the debits aren't showing up yet or the balance is lower than I expected.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I banked with BOQ for just over two years as a personal customer.
Transfers are slow, the internet banking facility belongs in the 90s, and staff are uninterested in providing decent customer service. Getting hold of someone in the contact centre means well over twenty minutes on the phone waiting.
Take your money elsewhere or you'll regret it.

Poor internet banking & services
I've been with this bank for 10+ years and their internet banking has not improved, app is terribly designed and very minimal in function, there is no plans to integrate phone wallets ie. Apple Pay, and when I just called up to change some account details they couldn't 'verify who I was' (I have multiple accounts and I was logged in on my own computer anyway at home). eStatements also have no address on them, and you have to go into a branch (not open on weekends) to get one with your address. While the people on the customer service calls are nice enough, the processes are extremely frustrating. Changing banks now.

Do not even bother with this bank
I rang their contact number to change some details about my visa debit account. I was met with rude customer service staff who didn’t explain anything to me and treated me as though I was a criminal. Don’t waste your time with this bank.

Online platform crap!
Got cracked twice... both times had to go to branch to clear things up.
Then tried to login again last 2 days, again rejected password.... called no answer for > 30 min. Bad!!

Online banking overseas do not work
If you're overseas don't expect the card to be working, for every transaction you need to call the custumer service center which is not a free number (off course), third world country service in the 21st century, would not recommend.

Stupid for going there!!
Went to this branch to pay my visa credit card all paper work filled out, gave my debit card to [name removed] who only took out 114$ instead of 1114$ too busy talking to other person during my transition and further did not check her paperwork, dealing with money and so sloppy seems normal for this branch. Have been stuffed around there before, i go home and notice mistake and ring, she says you have to come back!! Loan application refused
Have been with BOQ since 2009. Have had one completed motor vehicle personal loan with them. This loan was paid back in full without any missed payments, defaults or delayed payments. I applied for another motor vehicle loan and got messed around because they wanted a stat dec from a person that I had been regularly buying vintage motorcycle parts from to say that I wasnt paying anything off. They were only able to make such a demand because they were my personal bank of choice and obviously they can see all of my transactions. They would not have this luxury if I was banking with another bank.
Eventually I told them I was going elsewhere.

Do not return calls when promise and cut off then accuse me of hanging up
I do not find this bank reliable. Got behind in payment of credit card due to ongoing personal financial issues with partner and accepted their offer to speak to team handling financial hardship to go on a plan. Promised me someone from the team would call back at a set time. Unfortunately, they never did so I waited before calling back. Appears no notes taken about all of the last conversation. on to the next. Often got cut off and they never bothered to call back. Asked them to call me and leave msg with return contact details, as it was no use calling me and not leaving msg. Eventually, listed account as a default and I was told that was also because I hung up. Put in a complaint to the bank and low and behold got the answer I thought I would get, no resolution and account still listed as default. Do not even think off banking with BOQ. online app
only bank in the world not to have a credit card balance amount and due date on the app. actually they don't even have a app it's only the desktop version on a mobile phone. apart from that they more expensive than the big 4 banks on a long term.
avoid at any cost even if it is the last bank in the whole world.

Poor service from BOQ and now locked out of my account
I've consistently received extremely poor service levels, bad advice and now BOQ for no reason have been shut out of my online banking, waiting 30 mins at a time to speak to their call service to get the issue resolved. Been with this bank for 4 years and it has been bad news pretty much all of the way. Wouldn't recommend BOQ to anyone

Very poor app and website, product performance no longer competitive
Was initially attracted by their competitive interest rate on the high interest savings account. But within months the rates have fallen and are now middle of the pack.
The website and mobile app are very bad. The app is basically a mobile website, it lacks all the functionality most other banking apps offer. The website itself does not provide anywhere near enough information about account status, interest rates, etc. There is no way to control your cards either such as pin resets.
They recently changed their conditions on their savings account, requiring multiple withdrawals from your savings account to meet bonus interest criteria. This is the last straw for me, I will be leaving this bank soon.

Worst mobile banking app award
Its 2022 and my mobile banking app is 13 characters long. No quick login, no shorter pins available, the mobile app is still website. User experience is non existent. Made the switch to cba and realised how ridiculous this bank is

A bank that does not believe their customers
My BOQ online banking was compromised via my phone being hacked. It was nearly $4000 transaction from my credit card account.
When I informed BOQ after finally getting through to their call centre they said they would look into it
It took them a week to get back to me and when BOQ did their fraud department told me I needed to Get a police report and a letter from my mobile provider In regards to my phone being hacked. I was Also requested to deliver said documents in person to a BOQ branch.
Another week after doing all that I called them up

So in summary BOQ dont believe their customers who have been robbed, BOQ make their customers get evidence and then BOQ are willing to make you wait up till 2 months to get your stolen money back NOT A PEOPLE BANK!!!Similar opinion? Nightmare
The only reason I am with them is because this was the bank my parents opened out an account for me with back when I was a child.
Their app is the worst app I have ever used. Constantly not working.
They charge mad amounts for international transfers and account fees.
They have constant issues with direct debits, and will block transfers into my account regularly for no reason. I am switching as a result.

Backwards Bank..
BOQ are soooooooo slow processing anything- it takes forever for payments to go through..
So unless you like living in the dark ages don't use BOQ
Online is useless, you end up needing to physically go in to the bank for everything..

Very outdated & terrible customer service
I initially joined BOQ as they had a good interest rate. It wasn't long after I realised the slightly higher interest rate was not worth the trouble. Here is why:
1. Recently made purchases do not appear on the app, to view you have to actually call BOQ and speak to someone to hear your recent transactions (from the past 24 hours or so).

My other half is with BOQ and it takes over a week for transfers to another bank to go through. Is this normal for this bank? Surely not? Had anyone else experienced this? It happens every time!

Not normal at all.
All my inter-bank transfers went through on the same business day.
My problem with BOQ is other area.......and I stop using BOQ already.
The very last transfer went out to the other bank smoothly......
Sometimes transfers take longer. Their banking app is absolutely useless. My issue was that they wouldn't "allow" a payment to go to an Aussie institution because they didn't recognize it. This is a banking institution and should surely have the means to know if another financial institution (registered with ASIC by the way) is legitimate or not.

Assuming you are talking about a savings account (mortgages are much much more difficult to change). You will need to open new CBA accounts. Should be same day for a savings account (if you meet a Manager). Then you need to transfer money from BoQ to CBA ... can do this immediately if you have internet access. Then you are right to close down the B o Q account. :) So, if you have internet access and you can meet a CBA manager, and you are moving a savings account ... all the same day !
