Beautiful, sexy and sturdy little machine
I really love using my new Bernina B380 and still getting used to the new bobbin system after being a Janome user for many years. It really is a dream to use and the stitch quality is just perfect. Invisible zippers & button holes are outstanding. I suppose this will probably be my last machine I ever buy. The rolls Royce of sewing machines.

Bernina 330 sewing machine
I have had this machine for about a month now. When I first bought it, the tension was very bad so it had to go back to be fixed. It is far better than it was but still not perfect. The automatic threader is very hard to use. I bought this machine on the recommendation of a sales lady, but should have known better. I had previously owned a Swiss made Bernina which was excellent. The quality is not the same. I would say look around if you are going to buy a machine and also take some fabric of your own and see how it sews on that.
It looked great. I liked the fact it had a needle threader.
Tension was very bad when I first bought it. Also the needle threader is not easy to use. Doesn't show what the stitch length is.

Solid sewing machine
I've just purchased a Bernina 330. It works like a dream sewing Jeans material as well as very thin materials and produces perfect stitches. I also bought it for it's semi automatic needle threader and it's special foot which makes sewing buttonholes a lot easier. I can definitly recommend this sewing machin!
A solidly built sewing machine which does the job it's supposed to do perfectly!

The manual isn't the best, that is for sure. I am pleased to say I am now threading it without too much difficulty. I still stand by my comment that the quality of this machine is nowhere near as good as my old Swiss made Bernina.
The manual might be poor but you can also find directions on for example how to thread the needle with the needle threader via YouTube, and there are other demo's available via the Bernina site.

Which is the best 3 series model?

I cannot answer this as I have not tried any other model. You are better off going somewhere where they sell them and try for yourself.
According to the Bernina site the 380 is the most expensive of the three. I think you should decide what you think is important, i.e. which functions you think important on a sewing machine, and then have a look at what the machines individually are possible of doing. I would then make a selection, looking at the Bernina site, of which machines you would like to see/try in a shop. I've got the Bernina 350 PE and am very satisfied with it as it suites my individual needs. Good luck!

Hi Kath, I hope this will help you. My book says it has three quilting stitches, 20 decorative stitches, a honeycomb stitch, amd there are others such as lycra stitch, universal stitch, darning program, stretch overlock, gathering stitch and button sewing on program.

The manual is extremely poor, unfortunately.
