    Awful quality. Consistent breakdowns

    published

    Do not buy.

    - In the year i've had this, its broken three times. First it was a hole in the bladder when it was 4 months old. I was told I would have to pay $60 for a new one including bucket thing as you cannot buy the bladders separately and the warranty doesn't cover these. Secondly, 3 months later, the belt broke on the pump, so I was without until the sent me a new belt for the pump ( I had to pay). Thirdly, roughly three months later again I've had the plastic nozzle SNAP and of course....not under warranty.

and to top it all off..it doesn't suck up all the water and to get it all of the carpets you have to go on your hands and knees and use the hand 10 cm hand tool, OVER THE ENTIRE HOUSE.

Carpet cleaning is therell, but it is still hard work

    published

It cleans well, dirty and messy carpets are revived and freshened and so much dirt can be cleaned away. With regular use you can make sure your family is living in a clean house with a clean carpet. My only concern with this power-washer is cleaning the tank after it has sucked up all that dirty water. That was an issue for me. It was hard and messy to collect all the pet hair from the bristles and clean the container. But all in all saves time and effort from manual carpet cleaning methods, or hefty and pricey carpet leaning service.,

    LOVE LOVE LOVE IT

    published

I purchased my Bissell around 8 or 9 years ago. I have used it in the house approximately 4-6 times per year, I clean the cars 1 to 2 times per year and annually clean lounges and beds. My machine has never skipped a beat. I am impressed with the finished clean each and every time. After all this time and use I am only just ordering my first replacement little belt. I really didn't expect to still have this machine after all this time and if it every decided to retire itself, there is no way I would purchase anything other than another Bissell.

    Broke after 2 months use

    published

I don't know if the newer model is any better but mine stopped working after 2 months light use. When I returned it to Bissel I was told that as a result of it being "dirty" they wouldn't cover it under warranty. I did clean it to the best of my ability after each use but it appears that you ha to almost dismantle it to adequately clean it between uses. It's a carpet cleaner it's meant to be used for picking up dirt!! They wanted to charge me $186 for the service 1/4 of the cost of the machine!! Buy a cleaner that's more resistant to dirt, I don't have to dismantle my Dyson after using it!! I guess that Bissel is cheap but now I know why.

After spraying the detergent on the carpet, the machine doesn't seem to extract the moisture efficiently. Any suggestions?

Hi Lynn. I don't work for Bissell so I am not sure. But maybe check if you have any blockages in your tubes or front suction panel. The clear section that pulls of the front. I also do the return movements very slowly to suck up excess water.

I agree with Spot73, you need to go slowly, and also check that the removable cover at the front is hooked back into place correctly.
Also, clean out all the gunk around the brushes as well as the cover itself . Mine always seems to get full of dog fur I thought the vacuum had picked up !
Go over the wet area a few times, but always slowly !!

Can you use this machine on tiles. If so does it do a good job?

It says you can use it on tiles, I tried it as did others and it was terrible on tiles. Left huge puddles of water everywhere, so so ended up just mopping the floors. Going to buy a separate steam mop for my tiled floors.

Sorry but I haven't set out to use t to do tiles. When I'm near the edge of them I had a very small puddle appear here and there but that was all sucked up without issue. And the tiles were pretty clean already so Im not in a position to judge that sorry.
