Great product, very happy with my purchase.
I purchased the Blackvue DR650GW-2CH on the recommendation of a friend. I could not be more happier.
I drive over 3000kms per month in my car and I wanted that piece of mind, that if something was to happen, it would be captured and could be used as evidence if it ever needed to be.
The camera itself is non invasive and almost looks like its meant to be there. The feature list is extensive. WIFI to mobile device, GPS speed and location. Auto on/off. Voice commands, voice warnings etc, it does what it says. The picture is superb. Although...Read more
I would prefer the rear camera to be 1080p as well, however 720p still provides an excellent picture. I installed the camera myself as it's a very simple and straightforward procedure. With my purchase, was included for FREE the Power Magic Pro (which I have yet to install, but will). I highly recommend this camera for anyone wanting a great dash cam.Similar opinion? These should come standard with every car! It's a must have!
This unit has paid itself off, I have been involved in quite a few accidents and had my own insurance company try to force me to pay the excess when clearly I was not at fault. I also installed the power magic pro which was actually easier than I thought it would be in my 2015 Grand Cherokee, Works a charm for when the car is left in a public car park and someone reverses in to you and your not there to witness it, the settings on the camera to record when motion is detected or any bumps are detected are awesome. I have just recently bought another unit for my father in-laws truck which has the front and rear camera.
Seriously, this is a must have.

Excellent Quality - Simple to Use
We've had 5 cars with 3 different Blackvue Cameras over the past 5 years. All have worked without any kind of trouble or fault.
The camera on my wife's car paid for itself in the first two weeks. We were able to identify for the insurance company the vehicle that put it's towbar through the front grill - thus avoiding our $1500 excess.
I bought the DR65GW-2CH when I got my new BMW. It installs in about an hour and when used in conjunction with the backup battery, gives me peace of mind that my car is monitored non-stop, even when parked a...Read more
t the airport for 2-3 days. Based on previous experience, I can keep my insurance excess higher, thus giving me a lower premium as I am likely to be able to identify whoever caused carpark damage. The picture quality is excellent - I purchased the optional polarised filter. These should be standard. The only real negative is the desktop software is a bit flakey. I bought mine from [link removed] who provided excellent service and fast delivery. Highly recommended.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good vision but the rest needs to be thought over carefully
Looking at the reviews world wide including here in Australia, The price tag for the 650gw 2 channel definitely does not represent value, Rear camera stopped working after only a few hours, and that was so common in all of the complaints, the sound doesn't work on night vision, the connecting cables could be much sturdier(they fall out of the front camera with ridiculous ease. Vision quality is excellent but the whole lot should not need a replacement or part replacement after just a few hours(rear camera). The company however did have a good after sales service and couldn't do enough for a few other teething problems there were. I wonder if I send the rear camera back to blackvue and either repair or replace .

Links with smart phone to view recorded files or live view. Easy installation and setup. Good field of view and quality images if you need to forward onto police or insurance companies as evidence.

Value for money purchase
I've recently purchase my second Blackvue device and am impressed with the video quality for the size of the device. I've compared the video quality with some other units that my friends have and when you factor in price, size, quality you can't go wrong purchasing the Blackvue.
One of my friends has a device with the video screen on it and raved about how good it was to be able to view the video and you can see what it's recording whilst driving. Why do you need to see what it's recording?? The Blackvue is very easy to connect wirelessly and can keep the recordings on your phone and in any case you can log on wirelessly and view the video live when adjusting positioning etc. for initial setup.
Forget the rest, buy a Blackvue.

Great Product
We own a fleet of vehicles and when one was in an accident (not our drivers Fault) we had an issue with the claim, we searched for a product and came across BlackVue and was just what we were after, easy installation and great picture and easy to review. I would recommend anyone getting this product, all our vehicles now have them in them.

Review of BlackVue DR650GW-2CH
I have been looking for a dash cam for a while and came across BlackVue while searching the internet, I looked around on the internet at reviews of the products and didn't seem to a find a bad one, so ended up buying the 2 channel BlackVue.
The product turned up to my house in a timely manor and was easy to install in the car by myself, I downloaded the application for my phone, since I have installed it I have used it every trip in my car.
It provides a high quality image and can have instant playback with the app.
Couldn't be more happier with my purchase and have recommended the product to my colleagues at work who are also in the market for a dash cam.
Thanks for supplying a great product!!

Good Price For What You Pay For
I was on the hunt for a new car cam as my last one had a battery that would no longer hold a charge. After having a look around o see what else was out there I found this, this has a FULL HD (1080) front camera and a HD (720) back camera, with really well made PC software to watch your drive with GPS and accelerometer readout. As it has no lcd screen on it, it can hide away behind the car revision mirror. It has WIFI built in to be able to get the camera set and to get a live feed from it or watch back an event, the WIFI needs the button to be pressed in order for it to work, so you don't need to worry about other people getting into it and wiping it clean.

My husband installed a BlackVue cam in my car after giving it to me as a christmas present last year.
It gives great front and rear ongoing live recording, amazing! He also installed a 32GB card which is big enough for our purposes, (dont forget to format the card, he found that that makes a lot of difference !!!!!!!! )
Any way, long story short, he has had 1 near miss and another rear end slow speed crash since in his own car since christmas and said he wished he had a cam the same as mine in his car as well at the time of the incidents beca...Read more

Great Images
Firstly the online purchase was simple and delivered to the Northern Territory in about a week. Installation was a breeze and the Wifi connection made it easy to align and set up. A couple of close calls recorded are now being used for safety presentations as the picture has great clarity and fluid movement. Very impressed and the after sales call was a pleasant surprise. Would highly recommend.

Great product that offers peace of mind
Let's face it, there are a lot of bad drivers on the road these days, and after recently buying a new car, I decided it was a good time to get a dash cam. I had done quite a bit of research before settling on the DR650GW-2CH and this was really the only camera that could meet my criteria. I wanted something that could record full HD so that you can clearly identify number plates in the footage. The recording quality on the BlackVue is excellent and it records both video and audio. I've already had a very close near miss since installing it so it offers great peace of mind. The installation was pretty straightforward and I followed a few videos on YouTube to get some tips on hiding the wiring. Overall, I'd highly recommend this dash cam!

5 Stars for "Black Vue"
I was recently harassed from behind for est 4 klms for doing speed limit. When I was in making right hand in roundabout form right my hand lane, the other car came on my left and attempted to cross into my lane to go straight ahead.By doing so, slammed into my left side steel bull bar causing a lot of damage to the other car. The other driver tried to blame me but it was very obvious who was at fault. Police at scene took no action as no one was injured. I also took footage to local police where it was viewed by three officers who informed me the other driver would be pursed and the relative driving offence charges would be investigated using the dash cam as evidence. Very, very happy
After much research and consideration of the reasons I wanted to fit a dashcam to my vehicle I decided on the Blackvue DR650GW-2CH, which is the front and rear set up. It is HD quality video, it has a built in GPS standard, so it records location, time, date, direction and speed. It is small and discreet, it looks neat and tidy, the video and set up and features etc. can all be set and or adjuste d via Blu-tooth from an App you install (for free) on your smartphone (Apple or Android), the camera takes continuous video in one minute adjoining bl...Read more
ocks and will automatically record over previous videos itself with no input from you. So if you want to keep an "event" you must remove the SD card and use the application on your computer (Mac and PC accepted) which is again simple to install and use, very simple in fact. I purchased the dashcam online from Dashcams Australia, who whilst not the cheapest advertised did state they price matched, which they did and in fact bettered. It arrived via express post the next day together with the Power Magic Hard Wiring Kit, as I didn't want any leads visible. There are not many instructions with the dashcam kit, because it is simple to install. In fact, if you wished to stick the cameras up and just lay the cables openly I would say you could be up and running in ten minutes. It took me around four hours. Not because it was hard but because I am fussy, very fussy. Let me say you do not need to pay someone to do this. I set up the cameras in my preferred locations then slowly, methodically and gently installed the cables between the roof, door and A & B pillar trims, occasionally it was a very tight squeeze, but all good, no damage or even a mark on the leather or materials. For this I used a plastic spatula, the type you licked clean after your mum made a cake, mmmm. I then connected the Power Magic, following the once again, very simple instructions. I used two "add a fuse" connectors which in the case of my vehicle were mini fuse type (you will need to check fuse type/size relevant to your vehicle). I used a Voltmeter to identify a permanent power fuse point and an accessory/ignition on only fuse point. And drilled a hole for the earth lead. If you are not confident with this part do all the other install and go to your favourite auto electrician for the actual connection, it will save you paying for a lot of time on the cable install which you can do easily. The initialising of the camera is as simple as holding a button for ten seconds, it talks to you and tells you what is happening. I downloaded the app onto my phone and again followed the very simple instructions to establish a set up with my dashcam. I have since tested the video quality in full light, direct sun and night time and it is brilliant. Very happy indeed. But wait, there is always a but. The camera comes with a 16GB micro card but will take up to 64GB so I purchased one and put it in, followed instructions and formatted it and all good ....... on my phone anyway. After an "event" I removed the SD card installed in on my reader on my MAC and it failed to read the card. Long story short not all cards are able to be formatted by the computer?? Apparently. It was a cheapy. The 16GB card supplied with the Blackvue works fine. Moral - don't sacrifice quality for price. Which is why I bought the Blackvue in the first instance.1 comment

Very clear pictures that exceeded expectations!
I must admit I am a happy reoccurring BlackVue customer that recently sold my DR500 to upgrade to the front & rear DR650GW system.
After having no problems with my DR500 I was already aware of the quality and did not really look elsewhere for a decent dash camera, and after a few incidents with tail-gating I wanted a front & rear system which didn't look bulky in the car and was discrete.
First impressions - The picture in the day is clearer than my DR500GW! which was also very clear. The difference I can see is in the sharp focusing and ...Read more
its ability to read number plates when the car is moving. After asking my retailer why I was told it is due to the new SONY sensor which is 2.4MP so that would be where the difference has come from. Not every single plate is clear as it depends on how far the car is away so it is sensible to be reasonable and not expected the unreasonable. But out of all the dash cam footage I have seen I have not come across better day recording yet. I have always been happy to buy from a local seller and I love the fact the BlackVue is available locally. I am yet to have issue but a friend needed some help with his other model and the service was awesome.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Easy self install, great quality video, easy to use.
Installed this last week and though it took a couple of hours, it wasn't painful at all. You just need to plan ahead and maybe watch a few YouTube videos first to make sure it's right for you and if you are comfortable installing it yourself or by a professional.

oo. I purchased the 64GB camera with the T-Power Plus Station from autoblackbox.com.au (based in Perth, WA). The plus side is that I didn't need to fiddle around with the fuse box. However the battery didn't come fully charged and I certainly wasn't going to leave my car running to charge it! Luckily for me I had a spare 12V power adapter handy - others won't be so lucky. I found an old Netgear ADSL modem router with a 12V 1Amp AC-DC power adapter and takes about 1~2 hours to fully charge - works for me but obviously do so at your own risk and always seek professional advice before attempting this yourself. The hardest part was figuring out how to run the cable from the front to the back camera and before I purchased I made sure to check if my car (2014 model Subaru Forester) was able to hide the cable. I was lucky enough to be able to push the panels to insert the cables without having to pry anything apart. I started from the back to front and any excess cable I was able to feed into the A-pillars very easily. The cabling is completely hidden! The camera and T-Power come with long enough cables to suit any standard small to large vehicles. I had approximately 50-60cm excess The picture quality is clear even at night (surprisingly), much better than my GoPro HD Hero 2 and 3 that I was using as a dashcam beforehand. The G sensor sensitivity requires major adjusting especially in parking mode as I find it records the whole night and drains out the battery. I'm still trying to get this right. It comes with propriety software in the included SD card or downloadable via autoblackbox.com.au's website (they also have firmware for English models available). You can easily browse through and view your footage using the software and you can export videos worth keeping. The camera overwrites old videos if you run out of space so be sure to export important videos!! You can also adjust the settings of the camera via the software or the downloadable app on your IOS or Android smartphones. You can connect to the camera's WIFI and view the live stream on your smartphone which is especially handy when mounting the camera for the first time.Similar opinion? Peace of Mind Investment & Superior Quality
Recently installed BlackVue DR650GW-2CH (Front and rear HD dashcams) in a new Honda Accord Euro. (Installed by Tonkins Audio in SA). The two cameras give great peace of mind knowing that everything front and rear is being recorded in HD quality and even while your car is parked the cameras keep an eye on things. When parked for long periods, they either switch off after a while and come on if the car is bumped or moved or an accessory allows them to run for 12 hours before going into the same standby mode.
Best to get the largest Micro...Read more
SD card at 64GB as the high quality video chews up the storage. Records in 1 minute blocks and an App allows videos to be reviewed on smartphones and events downloaded over wifi. Alternatively there is a PC App that allows you to remove the card and view the footage with speed and other data displayed, including GPS map. If you go with these, learn how to disable the sound recording if you are like me and constantly comment on the apparent failings of fellow road users!Similar opinion? Great Investment !!!
After spending countless hours researching dash cams, I decided to settle on the BlackVue DR650GW-2CH. I'm so glad I did!
It's an unbelievable dash cam, with heaps of great features (too many to mention). The best feature has to be the quality of the front camera, recording in Full HD 1080p. The back camera is only HD 720p, but the quality is still good.
I purchased it through autoblackbox.com.au and the team there are great to deal with, extremely quick shipping too.
I'm so happy with the unit, that I will be buying another one for my wife.
A great investment in the event of having a car accident and proving you are not at fault.
Quality, boot time, talks out aloud, iPhone & Android app

Have you tried slightly point it down while you're on view with your phone and see if there is still rainbow. It could be the sun reflecting on your window, if you still see rainbow could be your lense. If it is in warranty get in contact who you got it from and send it back.

Hi Tan,
Thanks for your question.
As others have previously stated, you can try re orientating the camera to reduce the direct sun exposure, however if this doesn't have the required effect you are welcome to contact the BlackVue support team. We may be able to offer a repair option even if the camera is out of warranty.

Can I have it powered up all the time .

BlackVue Australia T.BlackVue
Hi Mark,
Thanks for your question.
In short the camera can run continuously, however this is dependent on a suitable power supply.
BlackVue offers 3 power supply options:
1. Power Magic Pro (PMP) This allows the camera to run of the car battery with a voltage cut off, ensuring the car will start upon return. Typical run time approx 4 hours.
2. B-112 Auxiliary battery will allow 6 hours of run time.
3. B-124 Bluetooth auxiliary battery will allow 17 hours of run time.
The above run time are based on a fully charged battery, the battery need approx 40 mins to fully charge.
