Dual Camera DR650S-2CH

I installed 650S 2 CH in 2013 Town & Country running on battery pack. LED white light blinked along with blue wifi. Now both are on all the time for two days straight. What is the interpetation? Thanks.

Hi Suzanne, This is in line with the camera crashing. I recommend trying to restart the camera with out the SD card installed. If this doesn't work the camera will need to be returned for repair assessment. Please follow the link for the returns procedure.

Dual Camera DR650S-2CH

For about a month my Blackvue 650s has been consistently been saying check SD card. I would reformat it and it would be fine for a day or so. Last week it just decided to stop turning on. At first I thought it was a faulty wiring to the battery but once I plugged it straight into a socket it still failed to turn on. I purchased it October 14th of 2016. Tried emailing but it responded with a full mailbox. How should I go about getting it fixed?

This is most likely a SD card issue. The easiest way to test this is to power the camera on with out the SD card installed. The voice prompt should sound "Please insert the SD card" The BlackVue SD cards have a 12 month warranty, please follow the link below for the warranty and returns procedure

Yes the rear camera is an interference fit with the bracket. Once the cable has been removed it should be possible to the camera by pulling the camera in line with the cylinder.

Hi my dr650s stopped recording the other day an my saved videos will not play anymore also not updating the video last video is from a week ago am says cannot play video it looks like its working an can still watch it live via the phone app but cant watch playback. ANy ideas?

This sounds like the files on the SD card have been corrupted. Generally this can be resolved by formatting the SD card. Please be aware you will loose all data when formatting the SD card. This can also happen if you are using 3rd party SD cards.

Hi, I have DR650s-2ch and I can't seem to get the voice command to work any more. The WiFi stays on all the time and interferes with my mobile signal. There is no voice commands from the unit. It works ok, but I can't seem to adjust things through the mobile app. Any thoughts !

Thanks for getting in touch,
To adjust the WiFi settings on the camera you will have to use the PC player, as you can't change the WiFi settings through the WiFi connection. You can also turn the WiFi off by pressing the WiFi/Format button on the side of the camera. Your mobile phone will not be able to connect to the internet whilst connected to the camera - this will result in reduced notifications and internet messages. Once your phone is not connected to the camera it will automatically re-connect to the internet and normal services will resume.
As for the voice commands - Can you confirm they are enabled in the camera settings?

My dash cam disconnects in parking mode Every day at around 2am and does not reconnect. It has a battery back up box. I have to power up the car to connect. The car is a brand new car so wouldn't think it be the battery. I am using latest firmware on phone and formatted the sd card etc on the weekend to see if that would fix it but it didn't. Wifi and cloud work ok until it disconnects. Please help

Sounds like it's only connected to the accessory power. You may need to see an auto electrician.

Hi Janette, When you say 'it disconnects', what do you mean? The camera is disconnecting from the 3/4G enabled hotspot? Regardless of the age of the car, if the voltage falls below the preset voltage (12-12.5v) the Power Magic Pro will turn the camera off to stop your battery from being drained. Once the Power Magic Pro cuts power to the camera, it will not turn back ON until the engine has been started. Let me know if this has or hasn't answered your question.

I'm having the same issue. Last night the camera disconnected at 4am and didn't start back up until I got in the car at 11am. I had the camera installed by a professional installer who installs all the dashcams for the vehicles at my work place. However, he told me that he had never installed a camera using the Power Magic Pro. He said if it kept disconnecting to change some settings on the PMP. But I can't even find the PMP, I think it's behind my glove box but I have no idea how to remove the glove box! I know it's not the car battery as it's new replaced only last week. This is driving me nuts, any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

Just make sure you have not enabled the mirror playback function (flip horizontally) in the BlackVue player.

Hi could anyone help? I have bought and had my DR650s-2ch installed but the rear camera is recording a mirror image I.e when your driving I check my phone and it's showing that I'm driving on the opposite of the road. All the buildings and street signs that are on my left shows on the camera to be on the right. Is there a setting that could change this. Any help would be greatly appreciated?

You are able to mirror the image in the BlackVue player, but this will also mirror the writing, which will then be backwards.

I get a text message Motion Detection Detected on my phone every minute when this feature is enabled, I have reduced the Motion Detection Sensitivity down to 5. I'm still getting multiple texts every minute, which is now becoming a nuisance that I've now disable this feature.

Hi Alan, If you have push notifications enabled for motion detection, you will receive a notification every time the camera detects motion. You can try lower the sensitivity to a more suitable setting via the app. Motion detection will be triggered by all motion that the camera detects, such as people walking past, trees blowing in the wind and so on.

I’m having the same problem while my car is parked in my garage. It will be fine for most of the night and then suddenly it will start the notifications, exactly 55 seconds apart, and won’t stop. There is no movement causing this!

My dash cam disconnects in parking mode after 10 mins or so and does not reconnect. It has a battery back up box. I have to power up the car to connect. I am using latest firmware. Wifi and cloud work ok until it disconnects. Any suggestions on suitable mifi router for hotspot #2.

Hi Dave,
I have set my battery back up PMP to disconnect when the battery voltage drops to 11.8v. It may be the same with yours. If that's the case and your battery is not very strong it may get down to the drop out voltage rather quickly. Having said that, I have never timed mine to see when it does drop out, but every time I get back to the car it has dropped out after quite some time away.
I guess I can lower the voltage on the PMP but haven't bothered.

Hello, I've recently gotten my Blackvue 650S channel professionally installed. Worked great first few weeks. Updated firmware to v1.006 recently. Noticed the Parking Mode not working properly. Stays on for long periods of time even after moving/driving a few kms, sometimes goes on at a stoplight and stays on, etc. The sensitivity settings are set to 70%, motion detection 30%. Problem with Parking Mode always being on is i lose the GPS coordinates (since its off in Parking Mode) when driving so if anything happens, my location will not be recorded. Is there a way to correct this or is this a hardware problem?

I would first try putting the sensitivity settings back to default, if this does not rectify the issue, it is highly likely you have a faulty G sensor.

Downgrade to version v.1.004. I was having same problem with the v.1.006. All fixed now with the v.1004. Hope this helps.

I have a DR650S-2CH and the orange light comes on and blinks intermittently - the voice sometimes comes on and sometimes not at all.

How do I know whither it is working at all?

Hi Daniel,
I would suggest removing the SD card and checking to see if it has recorded any footage. If it has, then I would say it is working. If it hasn't, I would say that it is not working and would need to be looked at to further determine the cause of the issue. You can also check out the manual to determine what the different colour LED lights mean for each recording mode.

Hi. I plan to install blackvue 2ch on my subaru forrester 2014. I hv checked the fuse box, mini fuse (i think). My question is does it matter if I connect the yellow wire of PMP to fuse tht marked as 20A, 15A or 10A as long as it has a constant power ?. Wht does the ampere meant here ?. Hi Hendy,
Just check what other systems run off the fuse you connect the PMP to, as you don't want to overload the circuit. Some circuits draw a lot of current and you don't want to overload it. The higher the ampere the more load you can put on it.

Hello....I purchased the Blackvue DR 650s-2CH and I keep getting a "restarting normal recording" everyb5-10min. I've upgradeded to iOS ver 1006 and have formatted the SD cards using the Blackvue Viewer on my laptop. Is the camera defective and should it be returned?

Sorry to hear you're having issues with your BlackVue.
It sounds like a faulty SD card, are you using the Genuine BlackVue SD card? If so, then we need to replace the card, if not, I'd suggest using the genuine SD card as 3rd party cards can cause quite a few issues, such as this one. Most 3rd party SD cards are not suitable for FULL HD loop recording as the heat can drastically reduce the write speed, causing the SD card to be unresponsive and the camera restarting.

Hello i have installed Blackvue DR650S – 2CH with BLACKVUE Power Magic Pro in my Nissan GTR 2017 BLACK EDITION.

I installed everything good but it records always,

when i leave my car in my workshop then overnight it records,,,, over whole night

What should i do can someone help me cuz i tried watch youtube and cant find anything?

Hi Jake,
When you say it records all night, are you saying it is continually recording non-stop? It may be a sensitivity issue if that is the case.
You can adjust these settings via the app or in the BlackVue player.

I have installed my camera with the power magic pro (PMP), however with the (PMP) will remain on even when I switch it off both with the ignition off and on. how am I able to turn it off when the ignition is off?

Thanks for your question.
You can hut down power to the camera by placing the boot switch on the PMP in to the off position. The green LED on the PMP will no longer be illuminated. If this does not work, there is a chance PMP has been installed incorrectly.

Good morning, I recently bought a DR650S-2CH. Everything works very well, if it was not for parking mode. When parking mode is activated, videos are continuously recorded every minute. it's normal?
I would like the video in parking mode to be recorded only in case of events. Can this be achieved in parking mode?

Have you adjusted the sensitivity settings for parking mode? The default settings are not perfect for everyone, so we encourage you to adjust the motion detection and G sensor sensitivity that will best suit your situation.

With the motion detection enabled (senitivity to 1) I have a lot of parking recordings, recorded at 1 to 5 seconds from each other....
The problem is that i am used to park the car to the side of the road, and the motion sensor constantly detects cars moving on the road.
Even with the motion sensor sensitivity to 1, the camcorder records almost continuously.

Is there any way to select the frame area within which to detect motion?
It would be enough to subtract the two side bands from the image detection area. Maybe in a next firmware update?

Hi Fabio,
At this stage you can't select the area for motion detection, but I believe the manufacturer is considering this in one the next updates. It would be a great feature to have, particularly in cases such as yours. You disable motion detection, and solely rely upon G sensor detection, but this could be risky.

HI, I am currently researching this product and will be purchasing the Kenwood DDX9017DABS and am trying to work out whether the Blackvue can connect with this head unit for an active reversing camera shown on the display and even a front camera view as the heading has a front and rear camera input. Can you clarify if this is possible?

The only product we have that can split the video feed to an external display is the BlackVue R-100.
We can not be sure if this will work with parts from another manufacturer, such as your Kenwood unit.
You could contact one of our authorised installers and they may be able to tell you, otherwise, I would suggest using the BlackVue R-100 rearview kit.
