Hi,
I had a similar problem with mine and I had the magic pro installed with the camera . I found parking mode would work outside but wouldn't in my garage. The thing I found was when entering my garage the head lights would automatically turn on and stay on untill i got out of the car and locked the car. I disabled perimeter lighting on ny car and presto all was okay. I think the power magic pro was detecting the battery voltage drop and shutting down the camera. Hope this helps.

My wifi turns on with the camera as well, You can disable the parking mode led from the app.

I adjust mine by putting the micro sd into my computer and using the app to change the settings. You can turn wifi to manual and turn off camera light etc

Hi chucky I don't have the Power magic pro but check settings as I put mine on high instead of the highest and the brightness on 3 instead of the 5 that you may have it on as. I have clear recording on both my front and rear camera

Hi Tom, I did put all the settings back to Default and nothing has changed. The front camera is still showing pixelation. Happy to send over some sample files for you to look at if you like. Please let me know. Other than the pixelation issue, I reckon these are fantastic investment. Chucky.

You have my same problem as me. You spent loads of money and it doesn't work as you expected!

You car battery is probably around 12volts so the power magic pro is doing its job and cutting the drain on the battery however you are getting hardly any recording time. The only thing you can do is take off the voltage setting and set it purely on the time recording of say four hours.

However if you have two cameras then you drain power faster.

The only solution I can find is to buy the expensive portable battery pack from blackvue that is around £160. Even then you will only get about 6-10 hours recording.

So it seems that the expensive cameras we purchased won't make it during the night. So if someone keys your car when they are drunk at 2am you're probably not going to capture it.

Hi Brian,

You will get 3-4 hours of recording on a 16GB SD Card, perhaps this is the reason you are unable to see the previous day's recording.
As for the rear camera, check all the connections, make sure they are not damaged in any way and power cycle the camera.

The WiFi can be toggled by pressing the WiFi button, which is located next to the power input of the camera.

I get about 5 or 6 hours on a 32gb card so you can hopefully see why you won't get the previous days recordings.

Also take note of the way you delete files from the card, make sure they are actually gone and not hidden or you may only be able to record on the available section reducing your time even further.

I use a 64gb card now as I find the32 too small, I'd recommend a 128 though as even my 64 is not enough

REAR camera:

Check the settings loaded on to the card via either the computer app or the mobile app. You can choose to turn the rear came on or off or flip it upside down from there.

From the manual... "In parking mode the dashcam continuously buffers video. When motion is detected in the dashcam's field of view, it saves a parking recording beginning 5 seconds before the motion detection."

I initially downgraded my webcam to the older firmware (v1.xxx) when I had these issues but the latest version 2.xxx (with cloud functionality) seems to cure much of the connectivity problems. If you haven't already done so, upgrade the firmware to the latest version and try that, it should be better. Beyond that, your only option might be to use the v1.xxx firmware - check their downloads page (https://www.blackvue.com/downloads/). It may help to power cycle the device now and again - just pull the power supply out of the side of the camera.

In have the same problem. Updated already with the latest firmware. Every day a hard reset/format is the only solution :(

Sounds like a dodgy unit to me, I'd go back to the retailer/installer and get it replaced (DOA).

I assume you're had it hardwired with a permanently on connection. If so, you should have something like a Battery Magic installed, it sits between the device and car's power and cuts off the power to the unit if the power drops too low.

As Mike mentioned, you will need the Power Magic Pro to stop the battery from draining.

I have tried to recreate the issue you are having but I am unable to get the same result as yourself.

Can you confirm you have the following settings please,

1. Enable Cloud service: Off
2. WiFi auto turn on: On
3. WiFi auto turn off: Off

If you have "WiFi auto turn off" "On" then the WiFi will turn off after 5 minutes if you have not connected your phone to it. Then you will have to press the WiFi button to turn it back on.

Thanks for the prompt response. I have Wifi auto turn off as "on" as I did not want the blue wifi light on at night in parking mode as it draws attention to the blackvue. Does this mean that I cannot have combination of wifi turning on automatically when I start the car AND turning off automatically when I turn off the car ? The way I read the instructions was that both could be achieved.

Unfortunately this will not work this way, as the camera has no way of determining when the car ignition is "ON" or "OFF"

My advice would be to set it up as I suggested and when you turn the car "OFF" simply press the WiFi button to turn it "OFF"
