47 questions from our users
I have to turn the unit the power off and on every time I need hot water, what's wrong?
sounds like you may have a real problem - maybe contact the manufacturer :)
We had a similar problem which we had fixed last week. A gas fitter found a faulty part and replaced it. Been working perfectly ever since. $205 incl labour. He said the faulty part was causing system to short out requiring me to reset it.
Having the same trouble with a new Optiflow 16 professional. Do you know what the failty part was? My gas fitter has tested all parts that he able to and cannot find the fault.
Hi! I have a Bosch high flow 17e in the house, I have just moved into it was working fine until I changed the gas bottle, now there is not even water flow from the hot tap, cold is fine...Please help.
Hello Pleasehelp,
Many thanks for taking the time to submit your review for your Bosch Highflow 17e.
As outlined in the manual, the unit will have to be reset upon switching the gas supply. In order to do so, you must switch off both the gas & water supply to the unit whilst having your tap inside running then switch both the power and water supply back on.
However, you may have to do this more than once in some circumstances.
The only other alternative we recommend in order to avoid doing this every time you run out of gas is to look into the options of installing Bosch Temperature controllers.
This will allow you to reset the unit directly from the controller, additionally our controllers also display error codes to assist with diagnostics when experiencing difficulties with the hot water unit.
If you have any additional questions regarding our Hot Water Units or Controllers we encourage you to contact our Customer Service Centre on 1300 30 70 73 or alternative via email at [email protected].
Kind Regards,
The Bosch Hot Water & Heating Team
Have you tried turning it off then on at the power point
We have a Hi Flow 17 E and it is leaking water. Can we remove electronic board from it and place in a 22E which has faulty electronics but remainder of unit is ok?

Just moved into a house that has a bosch professional highflow gas hot water system and we found the gas bottles were empty. We have now hooked up a full bottle and the system atill wont work it has gas and power now does it need to be reset and if so how do i reset it?
Thanks in advance
Hey there Evan, unfortunately that sounds like a question for a plumber or Bosch support. Hope you get it resolved :)
Thanks
hi evan, I unplugged machine then turned back on it worked, still don't think its set hot enough good luck david
When you run out of gas the unit will still try to light, then fail and go into a lock out after a few times. If you have a control pad an error code will flash. If you dont have the control pad the unit will go into a lockout that can only be reset by turning the power off.
We have a bosch 17e hot water system installed with our new house of 3 months. We now dont have any hot water so I changed the gas cylinder and switched over but still no hot water, what is the problem?

Had the same problem with a brand new Bosch . As strange as it sounds, I removed the cover and the tapped the gas heating unit with the plastic back of a screwdriver . Maybe a stuck valve as it worked thereafter . Tap the parts which have wires connected to them as this is where the control valves are .
We have a Bosch E17 installed. from reading other comments, it appears that if there is a power cut, the system will not supply hot water. is this correct? we have elected at this stage not to have internal temperature control, but the brochure supplied with the unit does not clearly say how to manually adjust the water temperature. Many thanks
You need power, that is why it is plugged in outside. if you go to page 11 on this User manual you can change temputure using the jump leads (taped on inside of cover panel. ) http://www.bosch-climate.com.au/files/201208020158440.201207160720590.70R_UserManual1023V2_AU.pdf
Good Morning Pam,
Thank you for taking the time to submit your question.
That is correct, our Electronic Highflow range will not operate in a blackout so thankfully they do not occur regularly!
As mentioned by On The Ball in the above comment you can find how to change the temperature in the installation manual on our website, however if you experience any issues or need further assistance we welcome you to contact our customer service centre on 1300 30 70 37 or alternatively via email [email protected].
They will be more than happy to assist you with any further queries or concerns if required.

We have just purchased a home and it has a Bosch 17e hot water why does it go cold after 2 minutes in the shower and then we spend the next 15 minutes tryiny to have a shower it does not matter what we try it keeps going cold?????????
I am so sorry that you purchased this brand of hot water system, I cannot help at all as we have exactly the same problem we either have boiling hot water which is great in winter but now that the summer months are here we would like a colder shower and yet when we reduce to allow cold in the systme shuts down and we only get all cold. I am over this system as tech services will not help, it is so frustrating not to be able to get the temperature that you desire. Have only ever had electric hot water systmes and never had this problem. Our system is also only new, if you get to the bottom of it without spending a fortune on plumbers can you please let me know. Cheers
It will be because you have a water efficient shower rose. All instantaneous hot water services work off a drop in pressure to tell it to switch on or off. The flow filter in the shower rose is throttling the pressure which confuses the unit. All units have this problem regardless of brand (Rinnai, Bosch, Dux, etc) or water flow (17, 21, 26 etc). Pull out the filter - it's in there somewhere! - and you'll be fine. Don't need a plumber, just a spanner and possibly a roll of teflon tape.
Saint Just is so right. It really does fix the problem.
