Hubba! Hubba! Hubba!
Everything! Looks good, performs well, and has saved me a fortune on electricity. If I could sleep with it I would but my wife gets so jealous that I am afraid to take the chance. My best friend is renting and he has been trying to persuade his landlord to put one in but so far, he is behaving like so many other landlords do. It might have been a mistake to tell him about my wonderful heater as the relationship with his landlord is deteriorating fast, which is sad, because he fancies the landlords wife.

ormed! Well, my little Bosch 21e is still performing like the champion it is. I'm amazed at just how economical it is to run. I'm worried that I may not get a rebate from Human Services this year. I'm not using enough gas!!! Can you believe these guys? If I use a lot of gas they give me a rebate, but if I only shower once a day, I get Zip ! No justice in this world is there?Similar opinion? Hopeless in power blackouts
21e - hopeless having this unit if you rely on electricity as well - when you have a power blackout you don't get hot water - even though it is a gas unit. Bought this house 18 months ago, unit is not too old and the i am going to replace this with an instantaneous gas unit.
No hot water in power blackout.

All electronic heating products require a power supply in order to operate which is why unfortuantely your Bosch electronic Highflow will not be able to operate in a blackout, which should've been advised prior to installation. We hope that otherwise it is running efficiently when electricity is availaible. Bosch 21e
Hi, we are temporarily renting and there is a Bosch 21e unit installed, not sure how old. The problem we have is that when it rains we have no hot water. Not sure if it is the moisture in the air that causes this. We can hear the spark trying to ignite, there is smell of gas but no hot water. The only thing we're sure of is that when it rains we have cold showers.

As described the water heater works correctly when conditions are dry but fails when conditions are wet, therefore we suggest an inspection by a trained and qualified gas fitter to inspect the operation of the water heater with particular focus on the gas supply pressure and electrical supply. Please call our customer service centre on 1300 30 70 37 and they will be able to put you in contact with a Bosch service technician, who is trained specifically in servicing our products. Bosh hi flow 21e
Not happy far from it we brought a new g j gardner home two years ago and this system was already in place we are disappointed with this unit.
Every time we want hot water we have to run the tap flat out for approximately up to a minute before the warm to very mild hot water comes out which is not suitable for washing dishes so we have learnt to live with this and we boil the water when we want to wash the dishes.
I cannot believe we have not complained about this until now.

product??) Bosch gave me another number to ring who are a Service Contractor to Bosch and that they would deal with my problem from there, after contacting the Service Contractor and explained the situation they told me there would be a call out fee of $125 and $25 every 15min after that. Well as far as I am concerned I may be just dealing with a Bosch product that may of just needed an adjustment from the very beginning or, " it may be just an under performing product", but I am not willing to pay the outrageous fee's to find out that this may be the case.Thanks. Was looking at Bosch because I love my dishwasher but now I'll look at the other brands.

Bosch highflow 21E
We had this system installed 8 months ago, have used 4 cylinders of gas since (2 people live in the house) the water temperature is scalding, so you have to turn the tap down to colder, when you do all you get is cold water so you turn the hot on again only to be scalded.
Each time the gas goes off and we change to another cyclinder you cannot get the hot water to start again. Contacted the Rinnai tech support by mistake, they were so helpful, but then we found out it was not their system but if it had they would have helped us to fix the...Read more
problem and also told us what the problem was with the system not re-starting after the gas is gone. It was an easy fix, so we then phoned Bosch tech support, what a waste of time. basically get your plumber out to fix it, more ??? on top of our expensive gas bill and change over and get your cylinders to switch automatically. Then you have no idea when you need to get a cylinder replaced and are likely to always need gas when they are shut and cannot deliver or pay a premium to get gas delivered over a week-end or public holiday. Overall not impressed with this system at all. Have never had Rinnai system but based on the reponse and helpfulness of the tech support would definately recommend them. Scalding water, very bad customer service, expensive to run1 comment

Terrible
Bought a house with 21E version in and I cannot wait to get rid of the silly thing. Very hard to keep the shower warm, it is either 50C or freezing cold. Am unable to use the water to wash the dishes in as, it is just not hot enough. Hot water is limited to 50C. Would not reccomend to anyone.
System runs quiet
Water goes from hot to cold. No other taps in the house were touched and it still goes cold after a minute. Water only at 50C so useless for washing dishes in. No hot water if power goes out.

Excellent
What is wrong with the rest of you? This machine (21E) works great!!! We love it! Temp only fluctuates if another tap is turned on. We would not hesitate to buy another one! Make sure you have it installed properly by a professional, then you'll have no probs, like us!
Delivers constant hot water always. Great when you have people staying, & you never run out of hot water.
Takes a while for the hot water to hit our kitchen sink (furtherest point from the heater), so a lot of water is wasted. Fluctuates in temp only when another tap is turned on.

Bad
My 21e is an $800+ enviromental disaster It has to use too much water and therefore more gas. This is totally against the principles of an instantaneous hot water. I can't find any reference to this min. flow rate in instructions, only a false statement that if run below 2.5 L/min. the temp. could be unstable (on page 15) It will be unstable according to Bosch, when you ring them, below 9L/min. This is true.
At first it appeas to save on energy use, but all models must have a water flow rate of more than 9 lit/min. in the shower-much too high for drought areas.
Unless you shower is a fire hose the temperature control is a joke. This is a serious safety factor. It saves gas because the water is often dead cold.

We have had one of these systems for years. Just lately when you have a shower the hot water cuts in and out. The shower goes hot and then cold. When watching the unit the light actually goes off and then you can see the gas start. What should we do?
Diana B.asked
Hi,
My Bosch hws turns on, but the water stays cold. I’ve had this issue before and by turning hws off at power it usually works. I’ve checked and in fact changed to a full gas bottle, (gas stove working fine this whole time.) checked power point that there is power to it (hair dryer works fine).
You can hear the how the system goes on... and water run through, but I don’t and cannot hear the pilot light start up like other times. System is only about 5 years old and serviced regularly.
Can you help me please?
Diana
