Hi why do Bosch now have plastic drums? My current Bosch has a stainless steel drum, and most premium machines have stainless steel drums. Most guides say stainless steel is better - even ieatwords’s washing machine guide. I am looking at replacing my current Bosch as over 9 yrs old and needs repair.

I am thinking of replacing current Bosch was28440au with waw28620au or another 9kg or 8kg unit. Using choice reviews but they only do limited number of reviews. I am reading reviews in uk. Is it possible to get model equivalent in uk for waw28620au, waw28420au, waw28790au, waw28460au, and wat24261au.

Hi, Bosch, I see the model has Aqua secure, but my laundry water tap is facing upwards. Since this is a rental place, I'm not allowed to modify anything. Can you tell me if the machine will work (without the water leak protection)? Also, what's the size of the aqua secure model on the inlet? I can see if it can fit in the apartment. Thanks!

Hi Monique,
Thanks for your question. The WAW28620AU has replaced the WAW28640AU.
The 20AU comes with the ‘Night Wash’ program, which is great for washing during the night as it’s extra silent. If you have any more questions, feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744.

The 640au also has the aqua stop water hose feature, whilst the 620 has the aqua secure. It also replaces the allergy plus with the night cycle. Personally I prefer the allergy plus as the machine is reasonably quiet as it is.

I selected the cotton wash cycle and as the wash progressed the “finish in” time moved from 1 hr to 2.40 Hrs. I’m an surprised by how long the cycle is. Am I doing something wrong?

Can you use powder instead of liquid in this model? Thanks
4 answers
Yes you can use powder - just turn the auto liquid dispenser off and put in the powder !
I have used powder. I am not sure if you can use liquid detergent.
I was stumped by this too then I noticed the powder and liquid symbol on the inside compartment draw opening. So I believe you can put either in there. Unfortunately Bosch instructions are no very informative.

how long is cord?

Best Guestimate would be 1.5 meters, to hard to get a tape behind it, definitely not 2 meters.
Hope that helps.

I know this machine has a “Finish In” function but does it have a delay start function? We have solar and would like to set the machine to just start when the sun comes out as opposed to doing maths and figuring out finish times and subtraction hours when using “Finish In” - any help appreciated, cheers!

I believe the machine only has a delayed start function not so much a timer that you can set to start and finish at a certain time
