Hi I have a Bosch WAE24460AU front loading washing machine it keeps running very hot and even when we turn temp down the water still runs hot. Is there something broken in the temp señor or can I disconnect the heater that seems the water as we prefer cold water anyway and it's only plugged into comd?

How do i cancel delay start ?

Bosch Home Appliances
Bosch Home Appliances ·

Hi Jen,

Thanks for your question regarding your Bosch WAY32540AU Washing Machine.

To remove delay start press the 'start/reload' button and then press the 'finish in' button until the time required is displayed, then re-select the 'start/reload' button to save the setting. The finish in time is selectable between 1hr - 24hrs, each button click will increase the delay time by 1hr. To get back to zero you have to go to 24 and then press the finish in button once more to clear.

If you have any further queries, please feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744 to discuss further.

what is the best laundry detergent to use my towels come out very harsh I do use a softener but no good I use radiant for frontloader

Bosch Home Appliances
Bosch Home Appliances ·

Hi Choochoo,

Thanks for your question regarding your Bosch WAY32540AU.

It has been found with front load washing machines across the market that towels can be found to be flat and hard to the touch. The wash quality in a front loader is of a very high standard and the high spin speed can cause the problem.

To solve this problem we would suggest a few things:

1.Reduce the amount of detergent in the wash, so for a full load of towels, only use a quarter of a scoop or cap. Overdosing detergent will also cause hard stiff clothes, not just towels.

2.Reduce the spin speed on the cycle to about 700 - 800 as a higher spin will squash the pile on the towel as they hit the drum.

3.When the towels are taken out of the machine, give them a good shake to fluff up the pile again before you put them on the line.

4.Try not to leave the towels in direct sunlight on the line as this can scorch the fibre and make the towels even harder.

5.If you have a Dryer at home, you can try putting them on a low temperature for a few minutes and that should bring them back to life.

If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact our After Sales Support team on 1300 369 744 to discuss further.

I purchased a BOSCH WAY32540AU 8kg in March 2016. I just hooked it up yesterday (about 7 months later) all looks good but the pump seems to be spinning but not draining the water out. This is a brand new machine, never used, but i checked all hoses to check for blockages, Nothing at all, as you would expect from a new machine. I see the pump is spinning but no water flowing out, until i opened the drain plug whileit was pumping to check the pump was spinning and it seemed to start working? Almost seems that it needed to be purged to get it running? This was short lived as i then tried another cycle (just water) and back to same issue. Any ideas?
Thank you

The Darley Llama ·

Hi Bruce,
This was not exactly like my problem but it doesn't sound dissimilar either. My machine had a warning message something alone the lines of "blockage - cannot drain". I tried, in vain, to remove the drain plug (which was when all the trouble began!). The only way to resolve this was to have the Bosch technician remove the front and back of the machine and attend to whatever is blocking the drainage pipes.
Hopefully if your machine is only 7 months old it is still under warranty.
I have become very bolshy with Bosch and now refuse to pay for any call outs as the machine has been such a lemon.
In fact, I had the Bosch man out again this week because the rubber seal around the door was leaking and melting!!! He replaced it and told me that the one I had (which was a replacement anyway) was one of their sub-standard ill-fitting ones. Great!!!
When this one eventually dies, I'm going back to Miele (more expensive but ultimately worth it).
Hope this helped,
Cheers,
Clare.

Hi, I have a WAY32540AU which has been working perfectly for a couple of years however, it is now not progressing through the cycle correctly, it seems to 'sit' and do nothing for long periods, a hour cycle is taking closer to 2 hours. I am not overloading it and have tried turning it off and back on again at the powerpoint but these aren't working. I have also tried draining the inlet hose at the bottom right.

Hi Lisa & Lauren, Can I ask what the outcome of your Bosch washing machine was? I am now experiencing the same issue. Was in love with my machine for the past 2 1/2 years and just yesterday these problems occurred. We also went thru all the steps you mentioned and as detailed in the manual with no change. It just sits, the time also doesn't change. I would be greatful for any advice and to know your outcome. I expected more longevity from a product in this price bracket. We choose our model as it was made in Germany and they are know for their workmanship. Thanks Amy

Hi I have the same issue with my Bosch.
It is about the same age 2.5 years. Was told to replace the main control board by an electrician but the $450 was a bit high and there was no garentee. I have many Bosch applieces in my house and they are great thats why I bought this machine.

Amy B
Amy B ·

Don I called the Sales Support team as directed in Bosch reply and was told that I would have to pay for one of their service agents to look at the machine. I believe it was something like $80 call out and $9.90 for every 6 mins after that, plus whatever parts may be required. When I mentioned it was just out of warranty and that I was directed to contact the service team by Bosch Official on Product Review.com.au, and why should I have to foot the bill on a very expense machine German machine. Her response was oh well that's just what happens! Needless to say I didn't bother!

The appliance has a cold water connection only, the water is heated internally inside the appliance depending on the cycle you select.

We have a Siemens dishwasher (same company as Bosch and the products are very similar with Siemens brand being more upscale) that has been very good. Our Asko washer died and we are considering a Bosch or Siemens front loader but there seems to be a thread about less than impressive customer service, in various flavours. Many issues had Bosch responses to contact them. If any reviewers had a positive (or negative) outcome from their direct Bosch contact, would you please share them?

We just brought our 1st front loader and have the Boch WAY3254Au. I was going to buy a Milie but was recommended Boch instead. I really do hope it works as well as what we have been told as I've read quite a few reviews that people are not happy with it. Anyway my question is... and yes its a silly one.... but there is only 1 water hose. Does that go into the cold water tap? our other 2 washing machines have always had 2 hoses, 1 for hot water & one for cold. I couldn't see anywhere in the manual stating which tap to connect it to.
So I'm assuming that we use the cold tap & the Machine heats the water up to the correct temperature? as I prefer washing in hot water. Can anyone please help me??? Thanks

Yes it goes in the cold water, the washing machine heats the water to the required temp from cold to a max of 90c

Hi Judith,

Thanks for your question regarding your recently purchased Bosch WAY32540AU washing machine.

This model washing machine only has a cold water tap connection as the machine heats up the water to the selected temperature during a wash cycle.

What is the recommended laundry detergent for this washing machine?

Jesse
Jesse ·

Hi Catherine,

Omo had been recommended for my first German Bosch front loader and that is what I have been using with the WAY32549AU. I have found the Omo liquid to be best.

June L
June L ·

Hi Catherine
I follow Shannon Lush's recommendation and use a couple of tablespoons of bicarbonate soda mixed with about an eighth of the amount recommended by the detergent maker. I use either Omo Ultimate liquid or Bosisto's Ultra Concentrate Laundry Powder. An eighth of either of these mixed with the bicarb works well, I find.

Hello, I may be stupid but I don't find the user manual easy to understand. Is there a Bosch user group or Facebook group for this machine model where ppl can chat/explain tips or even some youtube videos? I'm particularly interested in knowing what cycles are quickest that Mums use for various types of laundry. Thanks for any help.

I agree that manual is not particularly easy to follow. Don't know of any groups like you suggest. I find I mostly set cold water, spin 1400, speed perfect option and machine does up to 5 kg of items in an hour. Am happy with the result.

Hi, I am looking at purchasing a Bosch front loader, the HomeProfessional WAY32540AU
Front Load Washing Machine. It is an 8kg but I read that not all cycles will take 8kg. Is this correct? I wash often and have large loads, do you recommend the 8kg or do you have a bigger one, 10kg?

June L
June L ·

I have an 8 kg. The cycle you choose determines the appropriate weight of clothes. I mostly use Speed Perfect cycle which takes up to 5 kg and is complete in an hour. That means 10 kg can be done in 2 hours which I think is better than 8 kg in 2 hours 31 mins as my machine indicates.

Hi Sepynadalin,

Thanks for your question regarding the weight capacity for the Bosch WAY32540AU washing machine.

This machine offers the largest washing capacity available for all Bosch washing machines. The wash capacity for this machine is 8kg, however the capacity of the cycle depends on the wash cycle you select.

Please see page 23 of the user manual on the maximum wash capacity for each wash cycle here: http://www.bosch-home.com.au/appliances/laundry/washing-machines/WAY32540AU.html under the Additional Documents Tab.

Bosch Home Appliances

Hi Meg,

Thanks for your question regarding how to use the time delay setting on your Bosch WAY32540AU Washing Machine.

The time delay function works by recording the time you want the cycle to be 'Finished in'. The complete description of how to set the 'Finished in' function is on page 27 of the user manual, which you can download here: http://manuals.appliancesonline.com.au/way32540au/way32540au.pdf

Hi Siner
Yes, I am happy with the job it does and have chosen to just ignore the weight "restrictions" for each program. Have found the "mixed" load option to be the most useful and I just fill the bowl to a sensible level. No complaints at all re thoroughness of cleaning etc.

for bedsheets and Towels which cycle is better ?

Kathleen
Kathleen ·

I use the normal cycles for sheets, but wool wash for towels. The towels will feel quite damp as they are only spun at 800 rpm - the higher spin speed seems to be why they end up dry and scratchy.

Zaklina
Zaklina ·

I use the mixed fabrics / clothes cycle for the sheets, as they can be made of polyester or some other synthetic material and cotton. Sheets can handle the higher spin cycle, but probably dont need to go over 1000-1200.

The towels do much better on a lower spin cycle speed - my towels felt normal this wash.I also washed the towels on the mixed fabrics / clothes cycle this time, spin cycle was 1000, extra rinse and they were great.

Bosch Home Appliances

Hi Kish,
The recommended wash cycle for bedsheets and towels is the 'Cottons' program on WAY32540AU.

I use vinegar instead of softener ... Do I have to use softener or can I still use vinegar? Softener is supposed to leave a film on towels to repel water and not soak up when I drying yourself ..

For towels - I use half cup of bi carb with a bit of detergent in the detergent part of the drawer, half a cup vinegar in the fabric softener part of the drawer, and wash on wool wash.

I have a problem with lint depositing on a load of black clothing from the first day I used this machine. The lint appears to be clothing from an earlier wash cycle. Lint appears on a range of cycles: delicates, 15 min quick wash, dark clothing, and cottons. I have used Omo powder, Omo liquid, Comfort and Fluffy Fabric Softeners, and adjusted the amounts of detergent used. I have also run a 90 degree cycle to clean out the machine and frequently emptied the drainage hose and the pump outlet (at the bottom of the machine) which have always been clean, all to no avail. A 15 minute service call from a Bosch technician was also of no help. He could not detect any error code or find a problem. It was frustrating to then be told there was no problem because the problem could not be identified. I would appreciate it if anyone else has experienced this problem, whether they could let me know how they overcome it.

Freya
Freya ·

I have just bought a Bosch washing machine and have the same problem. Lint is apparent on clothes after the simplest wash. I had an Asko washing machine previously and no matter what cycle was used lint was never left on clothes and that even included pet blankets. I bought the Bosch this time around as Asko is a bit more expensive and I thought that a reputable brand like Bosch would also be of a very high standard. I wish I hadn't,the Asko resulted in a better wash and was very simple to operate.

Jesse
Jesse ·

Hi Freya,

Thanks for your response. It is very disappointing that a washing machine of this quality leaves lint on the clothes. I had an earlier model Bosch which didn't deposit lint, and a relative has a Bosch machine that is quite old and they don't have any problem with lint. I also have friends with other brands of front loaders and like you with the Asko machine, they don't have any problems with lint.

I would be very interested in hearing from you how the Bosch service centre addresses your problem. Any suggestions on how to overcome the lint problem would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Susan
Susan ·

I would like to help but have the same problem also and googled it to see if I could find a solution. I have always had asea/Asko washing machines which have been fantastic and only went for a Bosch because it was on special! I think this may have been a big mistake as this lint problem is driving me crazy. It’s good to know though that I am not the only one!

We are looking to replace our 8.5 kg Front Loading machine with a reputable brand as the machine we have is starting to rust, the rubber sealing ring gets incredibly difficult to clean, and some cycles get 'stuck'! Does the Bosch have a large capacity and is easy to keep mould free? Is it up off the floor level too so that you don't have to stoop low to stack the machine? Thanks.

Shane51
Shane51 ·

Hi John,

It is an 8kg machine. We have had no problem with mould and we wash nappies and other very dirtied toddler and baby clothes. The seal is easy to wipe and clean. It sits on the floor so you do have to bend down to load it.

We love the machine. It is so easy to use, it's quality and quietness is seond to none. We definately think we made the right choice.

I hope this helps.

G07
G07 ·

Hi John,

Even though low down, we find that the large opening is very easy to load; it is on the floor like most front loaders. We also do a lot of nappies and find any mould that appears is easy to clean, as a means of combating this we leave the door open to allow drying and we don't get mould anymore. We've had it running 2-3 washes a day for about 7 months now and it still runs like new.
