Bad design – the rinse result is not acceptable.
We bought Bosch WAY32540AU about 2 years ago and initially we felt the washed clothes were not soft compare to our previous front load washing machine ;eventually we realized it didn’t rinse properly and the detergent left inside of clothes. We reduced to the usage of detergent and add 3 extra rinses to improve a bit but still were not satisfied by the rinse result.
By the further investigation, we had found previous washing machine gave a spin between each rinse but Bosch WAY32540AU just drained the rinsed water without spin and the foam ...Read more
of detergent sill left inside of the machine – we found it by the last rinse water from drainage pipe. It’s definitely a bad design and you had to be really careful of detergent usage and adding more rinse time, generally speaking, it wastes water, energy and time whatever the machine claims I am not sure how to fix this design problem, upgrade the firmware of the machine? who knows! Even the result is not acceptable but the machine runs smoothly and quietly, so 2 stars.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Disappointed.
This is a very quiet machine which is possibly the only good thing about it.
Unfortunately I noticed straight away that many items came out of the wash ripped with 1200rpm. The washing quality is okay and I like the extra rinse option (up to times 3) that you can set. However I can't really use any spin speed higher than 800rpm (which is okay I guess and maybe 1000rpm for thicker items such as towels) if I don't want to end up ripping everything. And it makes me fearful of washing anything in this machine.
This NEVER happened in my old mach...Read more

Control Panel died after intermittant performance from 9mths old
This machine was our first venture into Top Loaders, at over $2000 with the Bosch name,
we thought surely this would save us electricity help the environment and give us clean clothes.
What a mistake .. the "Home Commercial" made in Germany is the worlds biggest disappointment!
It started out after 9mths intermittently stopping part way through a wash, no error symbol no reason at all.
We even called the Bosch service agent twice to organize repairs and after each time we called it would work perfectly for a week or two and when the time ca...Read more
me for the repairman to fix it .. No Fault could be found! Appointments got cancelled and we started to use an old Midea 5Kg Top loader whenever this rubbish couldn't finish a load .. now 2 and half years later, the second hand Midea is still doing the job for the household of 6 and this over weight overpriced example of German Engineering sits in the laundry while we figure out what to do with the ornament!

Rubber seal issue after only a few years of purchase
I expected a good quality washing machine from Bosch - unfortunately this has been a disappointing experience as only after a few years a small piece of the rubber seal chipped off which resulted in leakage. I now had the seal replaced (costing me over $300) but would not look for another Bosch appliance or recommend it after this experience even though we have a number of Bosch appliances at home. The technician suggested that the reason would be clothes caught up in the seal - this is not the case as I never had that happen. I see other reviews with the same issue which would indicate some quality issue with the seal. Sadly disappointed with Bosch.
Do not recall the month of purchase but it was some time in 2014.

Poor design
The design is not fit for the purpose as it allows continual blocking using. Liquid detergent & its difficult to continually clean. The passage are too restrictive for clear flow. The positioning of the electronics makes this operation of cleaning very sensitive it has obviously been designed off the. Computor without practical experience input by a practical engineer

Great for dirty work clothes and delicates
We've had this machine for nearly two years and it hasn't skipped a beat washing everything from mud laden farm clothes to baby onesies. We particularly like the Speed Perfect function which reduces a normal cottons wash to one hour and the eco mode when we're not in a hurry. Also very happy with the woollens cycle and water efficiency, particularly because we use our own tank water. The delayed start is a good option for night time and means your clothes aren't left sitting in the machine for hours on end when you're not home.
We couldn't justify a Miele but very happy with this machine.

Issues
There seemed to be an few recurring issues with this model when you read the reviews and talk to owners.
1. The clothes would come out harder than they should, in some instances towels could almost stand on their own. This appeared to me to be caused by not enough water being used in the cycles.
2. Clothes would experience wear that was beyond any normal, expected and acceptable level. I had towels that you could see through in areas as the fibers had been stressed too much and there were catches in the clothing everywhere. This appeared ...Read more
to be the result of the drum design in conjunction with the low water levels. The drum has a raised dimple with the water escape holes drilled into it. The clothes drop onto the dimples to clean the clothes but since they are wet and not floating in water, they smash onto the dimple causing damage from what I could determine. I spent 6 months of dealing with Bosch Customer service who are professional and the Technicians who are the same but few and far between, I got a replacement WAY32790 since this model was discontinued. (read review of that for a better experience). Bosch need to have more qualified people on the ground and have far better Q&A on their designs or the brand will suffer.1 comment

Do not buy a Bosch front loader
Our washing machine is not even a year old. So far, the front door seal has ripped ($360 with service call) and now the washer won't drain due to a 'blockage'. To make a long story short, I now have a bleeding hand, a broken drain pump screw and a flooded laundry. It appears, from the many dozens of websites and forums that I wish I had read before I bought this very ordinary washer, that it is impossible to remove the drainage screw if anything larger than a piece of fluff is stuck in the drain. That means, if you accidentally wash any clothin...Read more
g that has coins in the pocket or bras with underwire that might come loose and make their way into the washing, your machine will seize up and be useless. Despite the tutorials online that make the process look simple, the one glaring oversight is that if anything large or solid makes its way into the pump, you're stuffed! No doubt this will cost me many hundreds of dollars to remove the coin (or whatever it is) and repair the extremely flimsy screw cover to the drainage pump. So infuriated. And this is not the only review I've written about my pigeon pair Bosch washer and dryer. They're sub-standard. Go for something else.4 comments

Customers be aware
I purchased this late January 2015 with extra 3 year warranty,, I had to call for a service as it was leaking, the rubber rim had a tear in. According to Bosch and I was told this applies to all front loaders, this part is not covered by the warranty why? Because when taking the clothes out of the machine you drag the clothes out and this is what causes the tear. We were never told of this when looking at front loader washing machines.
Furthermore they are aware of this, should they not put a better quality seal in their machine to prevent this.
Has anyone out there had a similar issue with their front loader? I would appreciate your response

Control panel stopped working. Very average customer service
The machine worked perfectly for a year and the features are great. However at about 18 months old the control stopped working when it's a humid day or it's raining, which in north Queensland is almost every day. Apparently this is not unusual for washing machines. I find this disappointing because it's not a cheap model. The worst part is the customer service. I had the machine looked at over a month ago and it still has not been fixed. They are still waiting on parts. So that is 1 month without a working washing machine. I have also had to ca...Read more
ll several times to chase up phone calls that they didn't return. Very bad service and I will not recommend Bosch again. Edit - after 8 months of phone calls and complaints Bosch have agreed to replace the machine. Disappointed Bosch customer for the 2nd time! When will I learn?
I'm on my second Bosch washing machine in 5 years. I finally made the switch from top loader to front loader 5 years ago after friends told me I didn't know what I was missing. I loved it! Quiet, water and energy wise and our clothes are lasting 3 times as long. Amazing machine, that was until the motor blew up for no reason after 3 years. Unfortunately to replace the motor you may as well buy a new machine so by the time I had paid 2 technicians to come out I decided to donate the machine to my parents to fix & keep. As I loved my Bosch I deci...Read more

Patting myself on the back for choosing another Bosch (when all my friends have & highly recommend Miele machines) I thought I'd made the right decision. So last week the rubber seal around the opening split on my 1-year-old machine. Needless to say I am really frustrated and disappointed. I am yet to find time to have it fixed and am packing towels around the front of my machine as the water runs straight out every time I use it. In a nutshell, great machine but I've had too many costly problems with the Bosch & will be buying a Miele next time.1 comment

Cleans well but getting holes in clothes on the not-so delicate delicate cycle
I bought this to replace an Asko front loader that was starting to play up after 13 years of service. When the door wouldn't shut one Sunday night, I took advantage of an on-line retailer's sale and bought this Bosch model with about 20 minutes' research, as the sale was ending in 30 minutes. Perhaps if I'd had longer to research the machine, or if the retailer had offered Miele machines, I would have bought something else. This machine is quieter than my old Asko, and cleans well. It seems to require less detergent than the Asko, and is energy...Read more
and water efficient. The machine weighs each load of laundry, although it is sometimes a little finicky when weighing, and needs the machine to be turned off then turned on again to get the scales working. My big disappointment with the Bosch is the holes that have started appearing in my clothes. I've now found holes in 3 items, all of which were washed on the delicate cycle, in 3 separate loads. One shirt was even washed in a garment bag, and was new - I thought it must have arrived damaged. It happened with another new dress, and once again I thought I must not have checked the item well enough when I bought it. But now a t-shirt which I KNOW did not have a hole in it when I loaded it in the machine has acquired one. It was washed with a pair of trousers which had a zip, as was the dress. Zip or not, holes sustained while washing on a delicate cycle is disappointing from such an expensive machine.1 comment

Blown up and expensive repairs!
We have both a Bosch front loader and dryer and had the machines a few years and it has been good....until now! The front loader's drum bearings are worn, and is going to cost us in excess of $650 to repair it, on top of the $99 dollars it has cost us today to have someone come out to have a look at it. Seriously, what is the point... We bought a Bosch as we thought it would last the distance rather than going with a cheaper machine that we thought would blow up - the cost to repair the Bosch is more than a new machine at $750 total...
Very disappointed.

I think I died and went to heaven
It's only day one but after having twin tubs and wringers for the last 38 years I am ecstatic about my Bosch front loader. I've always had cheap washers that last about five years and decided to go for quality. We have tank water so water consumption is very important. I can do small or large loads which is an added bonus as I have only ever been able to do small ones. I love the different cycles to choose from, it weighs my loads, measures my water, heats my water and is sooo quiet I had to check if was actually going! I have done a load of e...Read more

One of the best machine I have ever own
This machine is a beast when it comes to washing clothes. It's not a quit machine though but the clothes comes out clean and it doesn't wear-out your clothes. I used to own a samsung front loader before and yeah it was pretty ordinary, it was one of those machine you have to check the washing after using it just in case you might find some dirt clothes, no wonder this samsung machines are exploding these days. What kind of a company is that from making a washing machine to making phones.

Disappointing Performance
Had this machine for 2 1/2 years and up to this point very happy with the machine, but on the weekend a major failure happened while washing a load of bathroom towels (well within the load rating)! The machine has completely smashed itself to bits internally, one of the springs which suspend the drum and trough at the top has come completely off (was lying in the bottom of the machine) and no sensors or anything stopped the machine, so as a result the cabinet is completely dented on both sides and bottom, soap dispenser is damaged and the Drive Belt is shredded, as well as a variety of other bits and pieces which are damaged internally. Not really good enough for a machine costing this amount of money!!!

Good Machine over several years. Minor chganges needed in design
We have had a Bosch Front Loader For quite a few years now. FD 8901 200093 E-Nr WAS 32741 AV20. I think an 8.0 kg machine. Only problem to date was the Water outlet into the pump was blocked with a piece of plastic left in a pocket. A little slow to find out where clips were to pull apart and more thought could have been put into that part of design to access the waste water outlet. hi. just like to know why our newly bought and installed waw28460au connected only to the cold tap please?
2 answers
Bosch moved to cold water inlet only in their models Aquascure water inlets years ago. The manual confirms this. They use the heating element in the washing machine to precisely heat the water to the required temperature, as the hot water inlets are variable in temperature and often take a while to heat up.
Thank you heaps!
