Very pleased!
I have purchased today a Braun TexStyle 7 Series iron TS765ATP to replace my old faithful Sunbeam Ultura5650 Platinum which was about 12 years old. My old Sunbeam had fallen off the ironing board twice over the years & was being held together by cord, but was becoming too dangerous electrically & not heating up properly. Though I loved my old iron, my new Braun is fantastic! It heats up quicker, glides effortlessly over the clothes & with the soleplate being 1.5cms wider than my old iron, has a greater coverage. It is also a very balanced iron to use. The only negative is that it's much noisier than my old one, but I can live with that.

Best Iron we've had
Our Phillips iron had cracked and was spitting water onto the clothes leaving marks on them so it was time for a replacement. After reading the reviews on this site I brought the TS765ATP from DJ Wellington (30% off) and we are so glad we did. It was still quite pricey with the discount but the iron is outstanding. It is a little heavier than our old one but the steam function is amazing. It chuffs along like a steam engine and gives excellent results on silk, linen, cotton, wool and delicates. The textile protector is great for my husbands uniform which can get shiny with constant ironing. It heats quickly and never drips. Would highly recommend.

Best iron ever!
We bought this iron 4 months ago as our old Phillips died. This is a bit larger and has a large reservoir which means less refills but huge amount of steam. Comes with at attachment for high quality fabric. Has auto shut down for both standing up and lying down. Best iron we have ever used!

Great iron
Heats up very quickly, large water chamber, sturdy design. Handy separate cover plate which is great to use on delicate fabrics. The iron has a safety switch off and flashes a red light if you've left the chord plugged into the electricity socket. I would buy this iron again and think it's great

Braun-rude and tricky/Good guys irresponsible
I got Braun Texstyle 7 series when it was having a 30$ cash back offer, they didn't write with the offer any cut-off date for the registering of the claim and very rudely (on the phone) told me that it was Good Guys responsibility and sorry we cannot help you.... Very angry that Good Guys didn't inform me if they were given this role to inform but very very angry with Braun who didn't make sure that their customer does benefit from the offer and spoke rudely with me.

So happy with this purchase.
Bought this iron on the back of the reviews I read on this site.
Best steam iron I've ever owned, it will definitely cut down my ironing time.
The fact that it holds so much water is a bonus as I won't be constantly having to fill it.
Very happy customer.
And my iron does not leak water. If it did I would take it back to place of purchase.

Excellent Iron
I purchased this iron to replace the Russell Hobbs Smooth IQ Pro that I had for less than a year, that was extremely unsatisfactory.
I wanted an iron that would deliver a steady high level of steam, with a sole plate that would not retain a residue from high temperature ironing of cotton business shirts. This iron delivers on these and all accounts.
I have used for the last month and have been nothing short of extremely happy with the performance of the iron.
Thoroughly recommend if you want a high quality iron, with a great sole plate for smooth efficient ironing.

A little weighty but ok. Steam is so great my glasses fog up!! Hence frequent refill would be required if you have a lot of ironing. I Found nothing negative as yet & almost look forward to this task. Many thanks & helpful to all 'reviews' & this web site.

Best iron I've owned to date
I have had this iron for nearly a year now. I have not had any water leakage issues mentioned in other reviews. The only time water has leaked through the sole plate is when the steam setting is on minimum, and only for a few seconds. It is quite noisy and steamy at the maximum steam setting, but I find I usually only use the middle setting 3/6. The fabric protector accessory that clips onto the sole plate is indispensable, I use it all the time. This allows you to use maximum heat and steam settings without damaging fabric, but more importantl...Read more
y it stops those nasty shiny marks on cotton pants when you iron over the pockets. It does feel a little grippy and less slippery than the irons own sole plate, but it is worth the extra effort for the improved appearance of your clothes.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good Iron. But.....
A good iron which does what it supposed to do. But it started to drip water while ironing and while standing on iron board from week one. Returned back and got a new one. Seems ok at the moment. I Like the clothes protector accessory and strong steam action. But little noisy while ironing with steam compared to my old phillips iron.

Maybe I got A DUD
At First, it was great, until when the water kept leaking out of while standing on the ironing board, still ironed OK, however, had to keep filling up with water, the ironing board was saturated where the iron sits, then today little heat, even on maximum setting, am returning item

Returned it after using it just once
I bought this iron based on the numerous glowing reviews on this website. Paid $140 at JB Hi Fi.
Pros:
1. It seems very well built, with no tacky plasticky bits like some of the other brands.
2. It comes with a clip on fabric protector for ironing delicate fabrics. This actually works well and is not a gimmick.
Cons:
It turns out that the previous negative reviewers were right - the iron does not get hot enough even on the max heat and max steam setting to iron cotton business shirts.
I though that perhaps they were being a little ...Read more
unfair and went ahead and bought it anyway. It really does not get hot enough. I think they key difference between this and say the Philips is that the Philips has a 'linen' setting which is actually hotter than 'cottin'- whereas the Braun stops at cotton.Similar opinion? It does what so many other irons fail to do ... it makes the job of ironing clothes a total breeze!
The 'Saphir' sole plate glides over clothes effortlessly. Combined with numerous stream holes and strong steam-pressure means this iron performs brilliantly. I am very particular with my work shirts and abandoned my range-topping Sunbeam after general disappointment with its poor performance and inability to remove creases. Cleaning the Sunbeam's innards made no difference. The Braun's performance is inspired and actually makes ironing quicker. It takes out creases so easily and, yes, the large capacity tank does require re-filling, but th...Read more
at simply means the iron has successfully converted the last tank of water into steam! This model comes with an extra click-on plate that allows you to iron more delicate fabrics at high-temp with steam without damaging them. Great idea! The iron heats up very quickly, is easy to fill with tap water and has a three-way auto-off safety feature. I owned a Braun years ago (it lasted more than 10-years). This model carries over some of the features, which means they are tried and tested and I'm sure mean the iron will last for years and years. Well done Braun! Myer has a deal running that mean the $169 was reduced by 15%, so this model was effectively the same price as the next model down (which I would have bought, but for this offer!) :)))Similar opinion? The iron of my dreams.
This iron performs perfectly. It has a wide range of heat and steam settings and a click-on extra plate to protect delicate fabrics from damage. The iron plate is slightly bigger than I have been used to in the past, but the main thing about it is the number of steam holes compared with other conventional steam irons. Steam is crucial to easy, quick, perfect results and Braun have solved this issue. There are options of how much steam you want to use from none to precision intense bursts. It also has a water spray function. The water reservoir ...Read more
is accordingly a little bigger than many other irons, but even so, be prepared to fill it up frequently if you are using the maximum steam setting. This is a a small price to pay for the excellent ironing results you get using plenty of steam. Other things I like are the automatic cut-off and the extra long chord. It is by far the best iron I have ever owned and it's worth every dollar.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Best iron I've ever used
Just finished ironing 2 large baskets of heavy ironing (jeans, business shirts etc you know, the stuff you put off doing) My new Braun TS765ATP breezed through it. I love the extra large water tank which meant fewer refills. The iron is heavier than my previous Sunbeam and produces a lot more steam even on medium setting. Ironing is never fun but this iron made it a lot easier.

Best Iron I've used (including against steam base model)
I'm quite particular about ironing and iron all my shirts for the week in one hit and try to do them well. So like most things I did a lot of research on irons when I started to realise my Tefal Express GV7150 (steam base iron)wasn't cutting the mustard anymore. As much as I wanted another steam base iron, given their cost I was looking at all options. After choosing the Braun Textyle 7 I have been nothing but impressed every time I use it.
The steam function is even, wrinkles are erased quite quickly and it heats up quite quickly. I would...Read more
say this is better than the tefal which was 3x more expensive. In terms of speed, I can iron 4 shirts within about 12mins vs about 15mins with the tefal (before it lost it's steam ability and dripped) The only downside to this iron vs a steam base iron is it is heavier given the water is in the iron, not the base.Similar opinion? Great Iron
This iron is definitely making ironing easier and reducing the time I spend doing so. It is very efficient and comfortable to use. I can't find fault with it. Plenty of steam, adjustable settings, heats quickly, smooth surface glides over clothes, good cord length and it is stable . I do not find it heavy and the handle has a well designed shape for a comfortable grip. I have not had the problems with water dripping as mentioned in earlier reviews and have tried ironing a variety of fabric types with uniformly good results.

Worst iron I've ever owned!
I purchased this iron 5 months ago and couldn't wait to use it. Well what a disappointment! Even on its highest setting and using the steam function (yes on its highest setting!) it struggles to get creases out even on the most easycare poly/cotton business shirts! With 100% cotton shirts it becomes an impossibility! This iron is weaker than a cheap $20 one from a supermarket! This braun iron certainly isn't worth the almost $150 I paid for! My Phillips Elance gave me many years of faithful service and it was half the price! The only plus factor is that it looks really good and is weighty thus giving the impression of being high quality.

Disappointing
Purchased a TexStyle 7 TS765ATP to replace my Braun Freestyle iron that has provided many years of faithful service and has only had to be replaced through being knocked off the ironing board 1 time too many...
Disappointed in the replacement. The new Saphir sole plate is nowhere as “slippery” as the Eloxal one on my old iron. This creates more drag when ironing and generally spoils the ironing experience. Serves me right for thinking the top model would be the best.
Give this model a miss and stick with one of the lesser models with the Eloxal sole plate and I'm sure you will not be disappointed.

Painfully frustrating!
We purchased this iron due to reviews and after researching Braun's website. We've tried every level of the steam function and the only time water doesn't drip out of the plate is on the lowest level (1). Anything higher and it watermarks our clothing, without the steam function, it lacks performance. The hotplate requires a cleaner, which we've never had to use before. We found this out when I ironed a t-shirt with a course fabric and it marked the plate. Obviously it didn't like the temperature, yet another t-shirt was no problem. It seems yo...Read more
u need to memorise what heat level certain clothing pieces require or you will mark the plate, which then requires a clean with the iron cleaner. All in all a painful experience with this iron. We will be returning it for another iron - cross fingers.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Questions & Answers
Miggs26asked
Hi, I have a Braun Texstyle 7 Series TS765ATP - it has the saphir plate. The plate was on originally and took it off as it's not needed for most of our ironing.
It's probably the best iron I've had (which isn't a steam station) - it is very good generally for steam and everything Though one major problem.
ISSUE: It seems to stick easily for some reason and once there is a tiny sticky spot, it spreads and then can damage item. This will happen with cotton as well. It drives me crazy not to mention clothes being damaged.
Why does this happen?
I try cleaning - I researched and researched before buying because I don't have money to waste - so any advise PLEASE HELP.
Maybe it's just ours?

Hi Maggs, My iron does not have the plate you mention and I have had no problems with sticking at all. I have had the iron for about 4 months and still think it's the best iron I have owned. Hope this helps.
Hi Miggs26. I have not experienced this problem at all. I do use the additional plate for garments i think might need extra care and take it off for heavier items such as demin. So far nothing has caused any sticky problem. I suggest contacting the manufacturer's customer service centre for advice.
My only thought is that it could be something in your clothes, given so many people talk about how good the sole plate is (we have never had a spot on the sole plate in two and a half years). Are you using a fabric conditioner? Or could it be something that is coming off the cover of your ironing board cover?

Clothes protecter useless. It tends to stick on to pants when hot. End up with using usual old hancky to protect my pants.
