Too be sure I would take her to the vet Especially if she may have ingested some of the product, this is not an expected reaction. Hope she's ok

Hi, no this is not normal, I suspect your kitten has had an allergic reaction to this product. Cats without ingesting flee products can have this or similar reactions when you apply them and this is a sign they are allergic to the product you give them. The reason I suspect this is because mine did the same thing on another product. I watched him during this to make sure he was ok and never gave to him again. It’s about trying different products and getting the vets to manage it as they safely know what to do if your cat has an allergic reaction. Mine was ok but I got the vet to flee him the next few times for free until I was satisfied he was ok. Try another product as Bravecto does not sound right for him. He should be fine after a few hours but DONT give it to him again and safely through vets get the right formula. My boy is sensitive to foods and pretty much a lot of things and maybe yours is the same as mine. With Sensitive cats its About trial and error. Good luck

Bravecto for Cats

How do you know is safe on cats? If that was your question then the answer is “You don’t know”, the only way to know is to try the product. Fortunately this product is safe of my highly allergic cat but other flee products are not as Ashton got very sick with a lot of them. Bravecto seems to be a good product for all my cats and have had this treatment for a while and so the only way for you to know if it’s safe is to try it or if you are worried then get your vet like I did to safely dose them the first time, as if there is a bad reaction then at least your cat is at the vets to be safely looked after.

Yeah, suggest trying it, and when it all goes wrong and you're left with a disabled cat you’ll find out... jeez, are you that stupid?

I love my babies and would hate to see them suffer as I have seen before with others. unfortunately flees can be a major problem with cats like mine who are highly sensitive to flee infestation. My friends cat was the same and she never fleed her cat due to ignorance until it was to late and her cat nearly died. There was evidence of scabs over 80percent of her body and 1 dose of flee treatment and after a few weeks the scabs were gone. I suggested that trying different flee products was only because of sensitivity issues with some cats and unfortunately if you do not flee cats it can be deadly and uncomfortable for cats. Cats should be fleed every month or 3 especially if they roam outdoors, if not possible flee infestation in the house and uncomfortably for the cat. I’m not stupid but simply love my sensitive cat, not fleeing and trialing products for my cat is stupid. You may of misread what I was trying to say or you have had a really bad experience with a cat and I’m sorry if you have. I have never heard of a cat being disabled with a flee product but anything is possible and death could be as well which is unfortunate for the owner and the cat so sorry if this has been your experience, but flee infestation is dangerous as well and I would rather flee my cat then not. Maybe researching this would be wise.

I put Bravecto Spot on, on my 2, 5 month old cats yesterday evening and they have been scratching like crazy ever since.
Is this normal reaxtion?

Hey Jules, I put this on my 8 month cat with no adverse reaction (2 weeks now) however i knew he didn't have fleas and applied it for tick protection not flea killing. It is possible that if your cats did indeed have fleas that they 'went to town' on your cats as they were dying and hence cause the scratching, I have previously had this reaction when de-fleaing cats in the past. However it is also possible that they are having some kind of allergic reaction etc as others have suggested this product has had mixed results. If they don't stop scratching I'd take them to a vet, best of luck and hope your kitties are happy soon :)

Hi there, If your kittens weren’t fleed from their mother in the beginning then it’s possible that they had flees and so hence this is a normal reaction to the constant scratching after you fleed them as the ticks/flees go stir crazy from the flee treatment they had been given by you. Another possibility is that they have had an allergic reaction to the treatment but because they are both scratching I think more likely they have got flees. After a a wee while they should settle down after the flees die and stop the scratching. Vets are always a back up if you have concerns. Kittens obviously require the right dose as well and can get sick if overdosed. I get the vets to do my cats as I get a 3 month dose and do not want to waste treatment by doing wrong as it’s an expensive treatment this way. Vets normally do not charge for treatment of flees and worming just the meds they charge. Good luck.

Best to ask a vet! ... I'm not sure on individual reactions each animal may react differently .. I was only gauging by my own personal experience .. hope your cats are settling now ... I personally will still use the bravecto spot on for cats on my cats even though they had a reaction.. as the paralysis tick can be fatal to animals... all the best with your fur babies

Bravecto for Cats

Can bravecto for cats affect humans if they are in contact with cats (patting) after cat was treated one day ago? Mild itching.

Sorry to hear that, yes apparently there can be skin issues with humans after patting their cat that has just been treated with this product. If you can not treat yourself and is getting worse then go to the doctor. Me personally I would try another product for my cat if I was allergic to a flee treatment and keep trying until I found the right one. Otherwise keep a distance from your pets for at least 24 hours. My son has skin problems but fortunately he has no side effects to any flee product. Good luck

NO, absolutely not. Bravecto does not relate in any way to that issue. A UTI following Bravecto application is coincidental.

I’m pretty fuming my cat clearly has a skin allergy extremely sensitive no fleas or ticks yet they administered this. He left the vets wet his box was drooling panting and ever since hasn’t stopped biting licking and scratching which he was doing before hand and I feel they couldn’t be bothered to go into the real reason. He’s got possible renal failure and I’ve spent a fortune on prescription food supplements and frustrated that this awful chemical was suggested. My homes clean he doesn’t go out and I feel he’s reacting to this more so than the First itching. It’s not helped. Do I report this to the Pdsa who gave this. I’m absolutely fuming. Tried to wash the remaining greasy petrol like oil on his back and dried it. but it means further visits which stress him out.

Hi,
This sounds exactly like my situation! I would report this. My vets bill to get her back to life could have been avoided. I lost a cat a week previous (not due to this) so I was more concerned about getting her better than the money but im still paying it off still! They didn't even tell me about any side effects to this, just said it was the best stuff and placed it on her.
Your cat getting better or worse? My cat was awful, lifeless, heartbeat slowing down and I thought it was going to kill her as she's old.

My 15 year old cat has hyperesthesia which is a neurological condition and she also had fleas. The product says let your vet know if your cat has any neurological problems, and I did, but they still prescribed it. She was lethargic for 2-3 weeks before she got better. She seems ok now. I just waited it out to see If she got better and she did. I will not put it on her again.

Thank
You. I won’t have any topical solutions again. I got told the best stuff also. Horrified. But I’m going to put colloidal silver in his water as it’s ingested and not harmful. He’s still biting and licking and scratching. I feel so bad for him. The new diets stressful for renal problems and he’s so miserable.

Bravecto is pesticide - death is a side effect and the skin is the biggest organ of the body - anything placed right on the skin enters the bloodstream. Keep all pesticides away from your pets.
