For the cost of it I would give it a go, just be aware that it will void the warranty.

Although it does not cut the bread in half like the others, it seems the middle is a point and would squash anything large if put in the middle?
Is this a deep dish or makes 1/4 pockets with the middle almost touching?
I want to put a big piece of steak in the middle, crack an egg, add the cheese and shut. Will the middle pointy spikes squash steak and rip the bread?
Thanks

I'd call it a deep dish, but there is a limit to how much filling you can put in, for example a minute steak with an egg and cheese would be fine just not a nice thick one like you would have as a main meal (maybe slicing it up as thin slices and arranging would work?). In my experience the middle has never touched creating sections.

The Good Guys, Harvey Norman or Myer stores nationally
Almost anywhere I would think. Just Google the make and model number and presto! Lots of places to choose from, either buy online or personal shopping, where you may be able to wrangle a discount.

If smaller slices of bread (e.g. square bakery loaves or cheaper supermarket generic loaves) are used in this product, will they seal around the edge, or can this only be used for larger slices (e.g. Helga's loaves, or bakery cobs, etc.)? Thanks.

Hello Sarah, Unfortunately the Breville The Big One is only suitable for the large slices of bread. The deep cooking pockets on this machine make it impossible to seal around the edges of the smaller slices of bread.
I decided to buy a Breville The Original BTS 200 to use for smaller slices of bread and a Breville The Big One for large slices of bread. So now I have two separate machines for each size of bread. Over time the extra expense of purchasing two machines will be outweighed by the savings of being able to purchase any size of bread that is on sale at my local supermarket.
