I have had this toaster for about a month now and it has been great. Toast evenly on both sides, fruit setting works well, lift and look is an advantage, and 'little bit more' very handy. Only query is that for lightly browned toast it is set on 2, can't imagine when you would use setting 5 unless you want charcoal!
You can tell from the weight of the toaster that it is made from quality materials.
Very happy so far.

I finally caved in and forked out the extra $$ for this toaster after being treated to one too many burnt slices of toast from our (new) Westinghouse (which turned one side of the bread to charcoal on even the lowest setting). So far, so good. Toasts evenly, smooth mechanism, nice weight to the machine itself which gives confidence! Great that Breville have bought out this long model that fits my home made bread. Other reviews seems to suggest that it only has a six month lifespan, but with a two year warranty I'm not that worried. Hopefully though, it's in for the long haul. Nice one Breville!

Best toaster I have ever had. So many options to select to get the perfect cook every time. Thoroughly recommend. Wonderful service from Breville in trying to decide which one to buy. Their customer service area were amazing.

After having to twice return a DeLonghi 4 slice toaster, I decided to buy this Breville, a brand I have previously owned. It has only been a short while but at this stage I am delighted. So far it works as it should, and looks good too. I am delighted and after the DeLonghi experienced relieved I have something that WORKS.
Sadly, after only two months, it's stopped toasting evenly. I'd given up and was going to put up with it but this morning the settings didn't work - so here we go again. Find the receipt etc etc Back to Harvey Norman.
Took the above mentioned Breville Toaster back to Harvey Norman and as always was helped - what great staff they have. Decided on an exchange for another Breville toaster but simpler features - think ...

The toaster when I turn it on will let me toast but when it finishes all the lights flash but will not turn off and go to stand by. If I turn it on it will have the Cancel light on for a very short time and if not used all the lights will start flashing. Once the lights start flashing you can not use it. I have cleaned the tray and turned it upside down.
Take it back as I did with two different ones as mine was about to go on fire on the crumpet setting at its lowest setting and I had to switch it of at the wall Breviille did not reply to my complaint. this is an expensive piece of junk
Funnily enough I bought mine just used it few days and same thing happened this morning.
Our new toaster BTA830BSS toats the bread very dark even on the lowest setting. Can the scale be adjusted? Any other suggestions? (I can't even imagine what you would use the number 5 for!!)
BTA830 is flashing red lights and goes through a cycle of lowering down, elements come on and then raising up again 2times beforrr flashing lights commences. Have tried shaking out to remove obstructions- no luck! Any ideas?
