DC130-X review
The Fridge was easy to install in our Caravan. Work well in high heat conditions. Doesn’t use to much power. A 120 watt solar panel seems to be able to keep the Batteries charged.
Purchased in February 2021 for $1,299.00.

Does Exactly what it's suposed to do
Used as main caravan fridge and free camping. Keeps a very stable constant temp and the compressor cycles a lot but seems low stress and trues consumes a lot less power than our old competitor brand compressor fridge. Quality is exceptional and the valy=ue for money was unbelievable.

No drip tray under freezer compartment constantly has water at bottom of fridge. Quite noisy when running
Keeps items cold
Fridge used in remote cabin with solar system quite noisy when running
Power usage is ok
Annoying that water drips from freezer and creates puddle at bottom of fridge no drip tray under freezer compartment
Made Overseas not a Australian product which was the reason I purchased believing it was made in Australia

Perfect camping fridge to keep the beer cold!
Bought this for my 2014 Swan Outback to replace the crap 3 way fridge that couldn't cut it on warmer days, or which froze things overnight.
The Bushman came with everything required including the trim/frame kit to install. Installation was very easy. Have run the fridge on a few separate camping trips, all free camping, and it's been great. Have had it set on 4 to achieve an internal temp of approx. 2 to 3 degrees, I run an Ironman fridge thermometer to monitor temps. The included ice tray works great, and is easy to use in the bush. The door s...Read more

great fridge, good fit
easy to fit into same location as old fridge with minor cabinet work. works great in the heat with very little current draw, it also allows me to travel long distances and keep the fridge running on the move keeping things nice and cold.

great upgrade
replaced 3 way dometic with dc130-x minor cabinet adjustments to fit but well worth the effort. Low power draw and impressive performance even on a day with internal van temperature of 45 degrees on setting 3 sits pretty much on 3 - 4 degrees. Freezer is small but use a 40ltr Engel as a freezer so is no concern

Perfect
The van I purchased had 2x95ah batteries already fitted and I had solar panels so thought a 12v fridge would help use all that power. On investigation I came across Bushman and discovered the 130X would fit in the same space as the 3 way 90l Dometic. Lot more internal room and I could run it free-perfect!!!
I fitted it on 10/7/19 with minor mods. To the cupboard and have been using it 24/7 since then as a house bar fridge for free!
I run it on 2(out of 7) and the beer is cold.
It is the quietest fridge I have ever heard. Slight hum in the silen...Read more

Replacement for 12V/240V
So far this fridge has been outstanding. Power consumption is just over half of our previous caravan compressor fridge. Climate since purchase has been mild, so can’t comment on QLD summer temps yet, but so far so good.

perfect and reliable
bought for caravan. temp range on last holiday was 2c to 36c outside. it didn t waiver. set temp to 3.5 and food remained beautiful. even to say the bagged lettuce lasted for 5 days... it has heaps of room including freezer room. door space is useful. had 2 waeco/dometics and they are useless compared to this one.
cant fault it.. hope it lasts

Happy Camper - I Hope!
Purchased this fridge after putting up with another well known brand of fridge that just took almost forever to get to safe food storage temperature. My temperature data logger indicates that my new DC130X fridge reaches safe food storage temps (2 C to 3C) significantly quicker before cycling off which has resulted in less battery power being consumed which means I will be able to stay off grid for much longer. I would agree with others that 2 crispers would be better. I would like to leave the door open to allow air to circulate inside the fr...Read more
idge when its not in use and not have the internal light burning needlessly, however small things will soon be forgotten if this fridge performs as a fridge should. I'll be leaving for a 4 month trip to the northern parts of OZ soon so I'll have an opportunity to give it a good test and upon returning home I'll publish my findings here. Staff at Bushman were a pleasure to deal with.Purchased in February 2021.

Bushman DC130-X
Purchased as a replacement for another brand fridge in our camper that we were not happy with. Bushman power consumption is considerably less and it cycles less. Would prefer two crisper trays to make it easier to access them with a partially open door. A latch which allowed the door to be left partially ajar would also be useful for ventilation when stored. Otherwise great product.

Very quiet and efficient
This fridge is much quieter and more efficient than the fridge we previously had in our camper trailer.
The only issue I have with it is a design one - I would prefer two small crisper bins instead of the single large crisper bin this fridge has so that I don't have to open the fridge all the way to pull out a crisper bin. Our previous fridge had two small crisper bins which meant it was possible to pull out one (and slide the other over to pull it out if necessary) without having to fully open the door.
Apart from that (and the fact we can't store our magnetic pot mats or magnetic stubby holders on the fridge door anymore) my husband and I are very happy with this fridge and have had no hesitation in recommending it.

Great product and outstanding after sales support
Replaced absorption fridge in caravan with this unit and did a 2 week trip to south east Queensland in July. Despite only low 20’s temps through the day had to have thermostat set at 7 (out of 8) to maintain 5 dec C fridge temp. Fridge was also installed with additional insulation so thought it should have performed better. Operation in warmer months is going to be challenging.....
Now we are in the warmer months and there is obviously something wrong with my fridge. Tom from Bushman fridges did not hesitate in agreeing to send me a replace...Read more
ment. It's due this week and I am hopeful of posting a much better review in the coming days. Replacement fridge has now been run under extreme conditions and is performing very well. Today max temp in locked up van was 43.5degrees (41degree day in Canberra) and the fridge managed to keep the temp inside under 3.3degrees and it was only set on '4' (out of 7). Very happy with the product now and especially impressed with Tom from Bushman fridges.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Excellent Fridge
Great bunch of guys at Bushman, helped me on a one to one base. The fridge is working in the caravan, and doing a great job, very pleased with the performance in cooling and freezing. We use it for keeping our Milk, Butter, some soft drinks and a few Beers.I am very impress with the Fridge, a great 12v. system.

Yes there are 2 male spade connectors. You can use these or cut them off and solder, or use your preferred plug / socket combination.

I have a Dometic 150l 3 way fridge (RM2553) in my caravan.
Will this fridge fit in the same cut out as a direct replacement? If not is there something more suitable in your range?

Hi Berocca,
Based on the dimensions I can find online, it should definitely fit.
But the best thing to do before you buy a fridges, is to slide your current fridge out a few inches and measure the cavity dimensions so you can be 100% sure.
Thanks, Tom.
Agree with Tom.
In my case it fitted in the space of the 90l Dometic 3-way
