I really hope this is a marketing ploy
When Coke changed the formula and there was an uptick in sales of Classic Coke and this is the only sane reason that I can think of for Cadbury's insane decision to fix something that wasn't broken.
Took me until now to finish a box I was given at Xmas, whereas in the past I could polish off a box in one sitting.
Will never buy Cadbury's again.
I am in my 50's and still have not forgiven Cadbury's for changing the "Snack" chocolate bar back in the 70's. The original Snack had texturally different fillings, but now it's the same textured filling...Read more

Another taste icon disappears
Cadbury roses chocolates used to be a favourite. I loved the strawberry cream the best. Now I don’t like the taste of any of them. The chocolate has an awful taste and instead of being creamy they are gritty. Even the wrappers are not as good. Such a disappointment. I won’t be buying them anymore. Why change something that was good?

Not like they used to be.
First time trying the new boxed Roses. New wrappings. The overall flavours are sweeter and less chocolatey. I really don’t like. Will switch to Lindt I think! These were a Christmas gift.

Disappointing
As others have said, they now taste cheap and aren’t enjoyable. The flavours have changed and I won’t be buying them again.

Not impressed
These are nothing like the quality Roses chocolates from the past. The texture & flavors of these new chocolates are nothing like the original and it’s disappointing Cadbury call these Roses when they aren’t comparable. Everything has been cheapened... the product & packaging. Interestingly, like with most Cadbury products, the reference to ‘a glass & a half of full cream milk’ has disappeared. I choose not to buy any Cadbury products anymore since their switch to palm oil. As for Roses specifically, they seem cheap compared to the famous Roses...Read more
of the past. Its such a shame Cadbury have ruined their once high quality product. I would have happily paid more if they’d stuck to their original recipes. Also, why did they stop making their classic Continental selection? This was an outstanding Cadbury product and if they made them again, exactly like they use to, I’d pay a premium. Hopefully they’ll come to their senses one day and start manufacturing their quality chocolates from the past again.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

So disappointing Cadbury.
I expected the usual flavours like orange, strawberry and peppermint cream, but the only familiar flavour was Turkish delight. I hate the crunchy bits and the same boring regular shape they all come in. If you want to change these iconic chocolates after all these years add dark chocolate to your variety. I was very happy at first to get a large tin of these chocolates for Christmas, but I've still got them and I can't get rid of them. Even my husband doesn't enjoy eating them anymore.

disgusting
I received a box of roses for Christmas. I don't like them because Cadbury destroyed the original. Nevertheless, I put them on the table for guests in case other people liked them. No one did. Now I have a full box of disgusting cheap tasting chocolates nobody likes. What a miserable comedown for an iconic Australian brand. I tried the hazelnut chip and it just left an awful aftertaste. In fact lots of Cadbury's chocolate tastes pretty cheap now. Sad

Bye Bye Roses....
I have been buying these as Gifts and treats for years. However I won’t buy these again. So disappointing all flavours have been changed for the worse! No soft strawberry or peppermint which were the stand out flavours we all fought for as kids. And Cadbury doesn’t seem to be listening to the customer. I hoped they would do market testing and return to the old version. So bye bye Roses..... time to find a new “go to” chocolate treat

What a disappointment!
I (used to) get a box of Roses every year for Christmas. It was a real treat to look forward to. This year I threw them out on Boxing Day.

What a loss!!
Cadbury your chocolates used to be a familiar indulgent treat. The replacement is barely edible let alone enjoyable! How tragic that this loyal customer has bought her last box of Roses. I'm devastated!
UNLESS the light dawns for you and the Roses bloom in their glory once more. PLEASE??

It's on par with Reject Shop chocolates now
The coating of the milk chocolate has thinned significantly. The mould of the chocolates are no longer their pretty unique shapes that resembled roses. The filling is no longer liquid or vibrantly coloured OR flavoured for their theme.
What happened? I can get the same quality chocolates from an unbranded box from the Reject Shop
The tin is nice though.

Not nice at all!
Used to be my chocolates of choice. Not any more. They no longer have soft centres and the hard bits in them make them totally unsuitable for the elderly. Won’t be buying them anymore.

Awful!
Been buying Roses for years and years but the last 12 months they have been awful. I was hoping that they would right the error of their ways and change back to original recipes. Have tried the new ones and just throw them out. I’m not wasting anymore money on them.

Roses have been around 10 years longer than I have. They're not really around any more though.
I can eat the Turkish delight although it's unremarkable, but the rest are still in the box apart from the ones I tried and spat out. Have to agree with others here - just dreadful. I have a feeling they altered the "Milk Tray" ones too ? WHY ????? And why are they not reacting to the complaints ? Very odd

Why are the new Roses that are so unpopular still being made? Your sales would go through the roof if you changed back to the delicious originals!

I used to love Roses chocolates but won’t ever buy them again. I used to love the creamy centre but hate the ones they have now Booooo to Cadbury

Surely changing roses is a mistake. The decreased sales must reflect this. Why do you persist in marketing this woeful product? Nobody likes them.

Its a corporate tax write off. That way they can funnel the funds offshore without attracting ATO suspicion.

Im going to say this and I don’t care what I get back. I’m a kiwi. The Cadbury factory in Dunedin NZ used to make the chocolates. Now they’ve closed down. Since Aussie now makes Cadbury, they taste like crap. Sorry. But I don’t care they taste like crap. You’ve ruined a classic box that didn’t need to be changed. The one flavour I loved is now gone. I’ve tried every single flavour of the new box. No way will I ever buy these again. Whittaker’s chocolate, Lindt, quality chocolates, Farrero, and even kinder chocolate have by far surpassed you big time. They make the better product. All of them. So Cadbury, what are you gonna do about that? Because, in my opinion and by looks, most others too, they have all beaten you immensely in this competition

Cadbury to chocolate, is like Holden is to cars. They started out great, but both are dead and buried.
