Good low volume printer for the money.
Given what I paid for this printer, I am very happy with it.
The app is easy to install on iOS and Android. Printing from mobile and desktop works well.
Scanning works quite well also, you can save direct to google drive but cannot select the location which is a bit frustrating.
The main negative I have is the paper tray is not big enough to catch the paper which is printed and this falls all over the floor.
We don't use it more than a couple of times a month so it's good for our needs.

Fine by me
Have only installed recently, had no problem doing that simple, quick & easy.
The print quality is O/K. If you want better then i would suggest buying a more expensive printer you only get what you pay for.
Refills are rather expensive .But i haven't come across a printer that doesn't have the same problem price wise.
The times i have used it i have had no problems printing black & white or colour.
I am quite happy with what i payed for (SO FAR)

Jam jam jam
So this printer actually does an ok job when it works. However, every time I want to use it I have to babysit it and watch what it's doing because so help it God it will either:
A) Not recognise there is paper in the tray and make you wiggle it back and forward so it can find it, or
B) Actually take a sheet of paper and then immediately jam the paper in its innards, forcing you to have to lift the printer and open up the back to rip the mangled remains out and try again.
It's astounding when it manages to print a page by itself (after abou...Read more
t two minutes in which it sits there and makes noises). I find it interesting that they've made the back of the printer so accessible -- the whole back lifts open. Almost as if they knew people would have to constantly open up the thing to recover the wreckage of their botched print jobs. I liked my previous Canon printer, but this one is cheap useless junk. Avoid.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Does the job, but very annoying in several ways
Printer does the job...But, getting it installed wirelessly is an absolute pain in the butt. Also, if you change your WIFI password, you have to go through a million steps just to change it on the printer. So, set up is a big 0. Print quality is decent. Haven't needed to get ink refills yet. It's incredibly noisy. If you simply print one sheet of paper, it still sits there making a whole bunch of noise for a few mins after.

Noisy and awkward paper tray.
Had a Canon Pixma which has been great but error code came up and that was that, old one seemed nice and solid and a better design than this one. I Purchased a printer that looked similar in the hope that the set up had not changed too much. The tray and paper set up are awkward compared to the previous Pixma I had. Only a cheap printer - I was hoping the 5 unused ink cartridges I had would fit the new one but no such luck.
Cartridges more expensive than the printer.
Prints well but rattles and makes a lot of noise.

Absolute rubbish!!!
This printer will not connect to a computer for any more than one print job. I have to ring the cannon help desk for it to be reset every time I want to print a bloody page, unistall & reinstall sometimes works, but not all the time. I cannot express my disgust with this product anymore without being offensive! Taking it back to officeworks tomorrow for a refund & buying anything other than a cannon!

It's really a good printer, but sometimes it gets a bit cantankerous.....
This is/was a good printer, Great wifi, and would turn on automatically from the "print" button on the computer, and worked well either single sheet or duplex printing. It worked well for a couple of months then it decided to act up by not feeding the paper. I could induce it, but that's a real pain having to sit in front of the printer feeding each and every sheet of paper.
My previous Canon was an MG5600 which did exactly the same thing!

............................................................................................... Having deciding to look further into the "why it wont work", I found a clip on Youtube which showed the paper pickup roller underneath the printer can get clogged with paper dust (yes there is such a thing, lol). Lay it back on it's back side (where the plugs go), pull the paper carrier up and you'll see the paper pickup roller toward the bottom - it's one roller but with a clip or holder in between. Wipe it over with an isopropyl alcohol swab OR get some rubbing alcohol at your local supermarket and wipe over the roller, let dry and all is good again. Now it will work as it should making us all happy chappies.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Absolute pile of junk. Lasted 11 months
And that's the replacement unit. First one was DOA. Basically the design of this printer means the paper feed never works reliably. I wouldn't touch anything in this range. Good print quality when it worked Very slow but that's ok. Good wifi. Really it was the paper feed that made me bin it when it was up for more very expensive ink

Printer is good, ink replacements often defective, and company fobbed me off to the retailer....
The printer is satisfactory, though too expensive to use because of ink prices.
HOWEVER, I have received several defective "genuine Canon" ink replacement cartridges from a retailer. Immediately after installation, they showed 10-20% below full. This does not happen every time, only with some canisters some of the time - so the problem is with the canisters, not with the printer. When I approached Canon about it, first they said maybe I was given :starter" canisters. When I said not so, they said I had to go to retailer, and would not acknowledge that some of their replacement ink canisters were defective. They do appear to have a quality control problem and do not want to acknowledge it.

Great little printer
Very easy to install and simple to use. Quite quick to print B&W but a tad slow on colour. Very cheap to buy but ink may be a killer down the track as is with most printers. Otherwise I'm very happy with the purchase.
