Good fun .well organised cruise.
Great family cruise .great activities on board. great food on board. ..some issues with dated room .but all in all quite good.
The island s visited were fantastic. And make sure you take your own snorkeling gear as it was $80 per set on board. Make sure you swim on the pristine beaches and get out of the boat early. As the crowd makes it slow going if you leave in prime time. .. take sea sick tablets if it gets rough ..expensive grog at $7.50 per beer but the service was great all over the boat...shows are great and very professionally produced. ..serenity area is great for adult get away on board.

Amazing Cruise Holiday For Entire Family
We went on Carnival Spirit from Sydney to Moreton Island in early May. The Cruise is simply amazing, Best value for Money. Its a perfect leisure trip for the entire family. The ship has got everything that you can think of. Food, events, shows, sports, party, cinema, pool, casino, bingo, shopping, disco, drinks - name the thing and you will find it in the list.
Shows were awesome, very entertaining. The Cruise Director Lee Mason is a very entertaining guy and quite hilarious. We ensured not to miss any of his shows. Kid loved the 24 hour Pi...Read more

Cheap holiday for a family of four. Heaps to do on & off the ship. Don't book on the ship for island tours they rip you off. Download the hub app before you get on board.

Great for families.
Great for families with kids, there seemed to be lots of activities for the kids, but limited for adults.
Last September we bought tickets on a 24 hour sale for an 8 night cruise to the South Pacific Islands. We departed on 7 Feb returning 15 Feb.
We had cruised on the Spirit about 2 years before (our first cruise) which unfortunately left us with a sour taste, but we decided to give it another go On our first cruise on the Spirit the food was quite good, There was a wide variety and always fresh and hot.

good and of a high standard. The show room had a live orchestra (and a very good orchestra at that). The show cast were really professional and I think most people were well entertained. The shows always seemed fresh and were enjoyable to see.The comedy club was great with well known comedians you see on TV shows etc (we even bought CD's and T shirts after the shows) As I said, there is sour bit to our story (cruise 1). On the so called formal night, whilst we were being shown to our usual dining room table, the person in charge approached and asked us to leave the restaurant because I was not wearing long pants. We were embarrassed as this happened in front of many other passengers that we see at dinner every night, and angry as we were unaware that long pants was a requirement, after all this was a cruise to the South Pacific Islands, She escorted us to the door.Similar opinion? I think some people just like to Complain regardless of how good it is. Some just can't be satisfied.
If people are sick onboard on day1-2, Chances are you brought the sickness onboard, and a bit of overreacting took place.
We have done 3 Carnival Spirit trips to the Sth Pacific. Never once had any issues.
The 1st time we booked a Inside cabin as it was cheaper, but when we checked in we got as Oceanview.. BONUS... Being our first time then we never knew what to expect and loved every moment of it from the Food to the entertainment.

ertainment- Yes throughout the Day they have Trivia of all kinds, Mini Golf, Basketball, Ping pong, chess comps going on. The Kids Clubs like Circle C, Camp O2 etc have their own things happening, so if your kids want to do the Camp Carnival then they are taken care of for most of the day and evening if they like. The Night time Cabaret is awesome, 1st time was a New Orleans themed stage show and it was awesome. The 2nd time we went they had a Back to Rock show which we liked as it was songs from the 70/80's. The last time it was a rocky horror show and was cool. Most cruises usually have 2 different shows on during the voyage so you can't say the entertainment wasn't there.Similar opinion? HORRIFIC!!! Avoid like the plague. Poor hygiene and health standards. No security.
Horrific experience. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Carnival spirit is shameful!
No offer to rectify things, compensation or even apologies from guest services! Gross public health hazards and poor customer service.
While onboard we were referred to onshore guest services to address issues?! Onshore then referred us back to onboard! Yes yes we were given the run around, multiple times by carnival staff, with no resolve. I haven't listed all the issues with our carnival cruise to hell, but here is a few...

Best family holiday!
We just got back from our 10 day pacific island cruise and I can honestly say that this was the most entertaining holiday by far. From the moment we arrived we knew it was going to be a blast. The hospitality of the staff was adorable - thank you Made and Prapa for looking after us in the cabin rooms. A special thank you to Wayan, Kerri-Marie and Swatree at the Empire restaurant you guys are the best! Loved the shows the 88 keys dance group are so professional and entertaining. great fun they entertained 5year olds right up to 60 year olds. Trivia segments were also great fun. The cruise director Eli was also very energetic and extremely hospitable and fun!!!! Our family had the best time.... movie night at the dive in was a nice way to finish off the evening with my 2 boys aged 5 and 7. The staff all around the ship are so kind, polite and helpful. Holiday from hell
This trip was the holiday from hell. The second day we are on board both my husband and i get food poisoning. this rendered us in our cabin for a day and a half. During times when we went and ate at the buffet there were people taking food with their hands instead of using utensils. When we brought this to the staff's attention some of them couldn't even understand english. To disinfect your hands, half the time the hand sanitisers were empty. Then my husband gets an infection on board (mind you we have have not eaten or drunk anything other th...Read more
an on the ship). I have to rush my husband down to the medical centre for blood and urine tests and antibiotics. we are the told by the doctor on board "do not drink the water at the drink station as it is not that safe to drink. Drink bottled water only as any one who works on the ship only drinks bottled water". Needless to say that was quite alarming. So my husband had been in the room for a total of 8 days on this cruise. What concerned me was that when you are quarantined they don't confirm that you are staying in your room. I saw a lot of people walking on the ship coughing and spluttering. Then we have lunch a few times in their sit down empire dining room. the staff were rude and the food aside from dinner on the trip with disgusting. Even some of their deli meats had funny smells. My 87 year old grand parents who came with us had their shower backing up and spilling over through out their bathroom. after 3 complaints it took them 9 days to finally fix it. then 3 days before i get sick with what seems to be a chest infection. Imagine my shock that i was hospitalised for almost 7 days with pneumonia and on top of that my grand father contracted pneumonia as well. I made a complaint on the ship to guest services who assured me that they would get a manager to come up and speak to me. I heard nothing at all. and on top of all this one of our ports was cancelled. The cruise directors bright idea of organising something special was 5 additional games of trivia. What a joke. As i had a shore excursion on that date they were going to refund me only 75% of what i paid. I had to fight with them to get the full refund as they had cancelled us stopping at the port. I can not tell you how happy i was to actually get off that ship and get home. I have also missed a full week of work due to getting sick on their ship due to their neglect. I wrote to not only my travel agent but also carnival spirit with no response. Avoid this ship at all cost. I can assure you I tell any body who asks about this ship to run. Don't waste your money.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Highly Recommended
Cruise to Moreton Island recently was terrific. Family of 6 all had a wonderful time. We were on the lowest deck with an Ocean View. Beds very comfortable.Lot of choice in the many dining areas, all very good. Plenty of things to do for everyone, kids had a great time. All crew were courteous and very helpful.Would like to take a longer cruise with this company. Cruise View in Sydney did our booking, extremely professional & helpful.

Good value, Good time
Booked directly with Carnival next time I think I will use a travel agent. Two adults and two children under 10. This ship is targeted at the family market.
Sailed July 2016 check in was relatively easy on line which saved time at terminal. Arrived just prior to allocated check in time. Once we were in the terminal it took approximately half an hour until we were on the ship. Weather was really good and the seas were calm with the exception of two nights.
The ship has a mish mosh of decor but you quickly get used to it and the ship i...Read more
s easy to navigate. We had two balcony staterooms which were ready when we arrived. They were cleaned well daily throughout our cruise. The bathroom was a good size and shower was hot. Water pressure could be better. Housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. Food in the Buffet on Deck 9 had some really good and some not so good meals. There is a good variety at each sitting. Some of the clearing staff are a little too conscientious and take plates and drinks before you have finished. The Maitre d, Vanburn is warm, professional and friendly. His happy disposition is infectious. Dining room food especially evening meals, were restaurant quality and there was a good selection. Wait staff service was excellent. There is a good variety of shows and a good standard of singers and musicians in the bars. Courtney sang and played acoustic guitar in a variety of venues and was very easy to listen to.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Lack of SPIRIT
I have sailed with CUNARD QM2 (NZ March 2013), SEA Princess (Sth Pacific November 2015) from Brisbane. Carnival SPIRIT (Sth Pacific June 2016) from Circular Quay, Sydney... Of the 3 cruise lines I make my comparison between Carnival & Princess. Please note Carnival Spirit & Legend main Departure Port are; Sydney and Melbourne. Be that we are from Brisbane, cruising out of Sydney means 2 extra days At Sea, 5 in total before reaching your first Port, 1-2 less Ports to visit.
Carnival Spirit was chosen to experience a different cruise line and...Read more
for its Green Thunder water slide – Yippy :) For us Queenslanders June was perhaps not the best time to travel as the weather was cold and wet throughout most of our journey. Yet the price of our Balcony Stateroom, no school holidays and different ports did influence our going. Booking online was excellent. Embarking; Sydney International Passenger Terminal was swift and smooth; boarding commenced at 12:00 p.m. Once aboard the vessel you were not permitted into your stateroom until 1:30 p.m. Meanwhile lunch was available and all other areas of the ship could be explored… smoking was not permitted until refueling had stopped 4:00 p.m. The compulsory Safety drill was the most thoroughly conducted drill I’ve ever experienced; Carnival stopped short of placing us into the Lifeboats. Stateroom; Deck 8 Balcony Upon entering our Stateroom the specified Queen Bed configuration was somehow 2 single beds. The mini fridge was not clean and didn’t stock any soft drinks and confectioneries as we found on other Cruise Lines. Pillows were smaller than conventional in our room. On the SEA Princess; Pillows were so luxurious we ended up buying them. TV channels/programs were extremely limited, plus you had to pay to watch some of the movies that later appeared on the big screen under the stars. Room Service and laundry machines if needed were at an extra cost. (Room service is free aboard SEA Princess) Come sleeping on Deck 8 level you felt the vibrations and heard the sounds of the Ship, plus the occasional (kitchen) trolleys being moved about on LIDO Deck 9.Similar opinion? Perfect cruising conditions make for a great experience.
This was our first ever cruise and we were really worried that we might hate it. Ours was a 7 day in late October 2015, the week after what sounded like a dreadful cruise where everything had gone wrong . We had completely perfect conditions every day, our cabin was terrific with the only issue being a broken light switch which was replaced within hours of reporting it. The standard of food in the Empire was great, waiters were so friendly and efficient. Every staff member was delightful, much nicer then any hotel you will ever find. We enjoye...Read more
d high tea in the dining room in the afternoon instead of lunch which was not needed after the excellent breakfast. There seemed to be some great pastry chefs on board as the cakes on offer at all times were superb. Lots of room on deck for walking around, easily able to avoid smokers and the kids on board. The adult spa area was disappointing, always full so don't count on that for an escape but you can always pick up some food or a coffee and take it back to your cabin particularly nice if you have a balcony. The entertainment was what you would expect on board, we found a great cover band in one of the pubs and spent time with them. Drinks are actually quite reasonably priced with a good selection. So, now we are converts to cruising and highly recommend Carnival, but we do know that if the weather had been poor it could have been a very different story so good luck. Please post any questions if you are a first time cruiser like I was and have any concerns.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Fantastic holiday on the carnival spirit 2016
Our 3rd cruise but our first on the carnival spirit Family of 5 holiday leaving on the 25/4/16 it was a quick walk from the station check in was very easy and quick. The staff are always happy to help you or serve you they always address you by name. Our room was on deck 7 an interior cabin at the front of the ship very comfortable we had a queen bed with a single above it our room was serviced daily as we told our cabin Stewart once a day was enough. hanging from the ceiling or a dog jellyfish or hippo, etc. on your bed. We can't fault the food plenty of places to eat we ate at the lido restaurant for breakfast and had lunch on the deck either guys hamburger joint jimmy's bbq or had Mexican at cantina we ate dinner at the empire restaurant at night. The cost of beer was $7.50 or $28.00 a bucket wine prices started at $33.00 a bottle cocktails started at $10.50 you could get a fishbowl at the redfrog rum bar for $26.95 good value or margarita jugs for $35.00 long island tea was $11.00. Entertainment was good lots of places to have a drink and listen to music there shows were very good . Casino is very large lots of gaming choices. We went to isle of pines great snorkling they take aussie dollars, mar'e there's markets that take aussie dollars but if you go to there local shop you need franc's and noumea there's local markets that take aussie dollars but if you want to walk around the city you will need franc's. There are lots of things for the kids to do kids club water park and slides putt putt golf swimming they have movies popcorn and blankets under the stars at night 24hour pizza and icecream free. You can have nice family pictures done for around $30.00 or fun pictures done on the islands for I think they start at $17.00. Anyway I hope if you have chosen carnival for your cruise I hope you enjoy it as much as we have.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

OK but not brilliant
This was our first cruise with Carnival after 5 with P&O. We'd always heard that once you leave P&O to try other companies - you won't go back to P&O. The Carnival Spirit cruise departing 23rd February 2016 was our first time with another company so our expectations were high - perhaps too high. Overall we enjoyed the cruise but we all felt that it fell short of expectations and certainly short of P&O who are supposed to be the economy grade cruises. The food overall was a let down. Dining room food was always lukewarm. Huge servings but lackin...Read more
g the finesse of what we had experienced in the past. After about 9:30pm - there is nothing to eat except half cooked "pizza" of very average quality that fell apart the moment you tried to pick it up. The bars were usually a ghost town and there were much less on board activities than our previous cruises. You would die of thirst waiting to be served a drink poolside - whereas on other cruises service staff are tripping over you to serve you. I found the service significantly better on P&O and the staff overall friendlier on P&O. Smoking area right near to the pool (which is a kids magnet) is a very poor design. For a ship known to cater for children - I found their kids clubs significantly inferior & they were shut far too much. The layout of the ship is a bit like a rabbit's warren and karaoke is banished to the back of the ship on level 2 and was almost always near empty - when on other cruises it is packed & full of atmosphere (I don't sing - I just like to watch people who sing worse than me - yet aren't embarrassed). We had Isle of Pines cancelled for bad seas but met an Isle of Pines local the next day at Noumea who said the seas were perfect on the day we were supposed to go to Isle of Pines. Communication was poor. Some people knew before the cruise left Sydney that Isle of Pines was cancelled but we never knew till the last minute. On previous cruises, when one island is cancelled so far in advance, they have always substituted another port. Not so here. Positive things are that as a family traveller - the rooms were really well laid of for a couple with 2 kids. Contrary to other reviews, I thought the nightly live shows were excellent and were the best we have experienced on any cruise before. To the eye, the ship is nicely decorated. The popcorn & blankets for the outdoor theatre were great and the disembarkation process was really smooth (for us). But unfortunately - it all ends there - and the negatives well outweighed the positives. We're back on P&O in August. I'm not saying I'd never do Carnival again but I would have to be limited in my options and hear that they have lifted their game before I would consider them. I'd give them a pass mark - but only JUST. Just my honest opinion.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Best holiday ever
I returned last week from 8 nights aboard the Carnival Spirit. It is the best holiday I have ever had. Embarkation was a very smooth, very organised process, debarkation the same. Everything in between was great too. We had an extended balcony cabin which was a great size, the facilities were good. Having a fridge and a hairdryer was great and I believe they are in all cabins. No need for an adaptor as a power point has been converted for the Australian market. All the crew seem very happy and I didn't encounter even one that didn't smile and s...Read more
ay hello. The entertainment was the best I have seen on any cruise ship, the food in the dining room was fantastic although not a lot of variety for a vegetarian. It was great to be able to access water, ice, cordial and tea and coffee at any time at the buffet free of charge. We ate breakfast and lunch most days at the buffet, the variety of food was beyond amazing. Sometimes the buffet food wasn't piping hot but not once did I see something had run out and not been refilled. The tables were cleared and cleaned exceptionally fast by the staff. Our cabin steward was very efficient, friendly and helpful. The facilities on board are great and there is no compulsory tipping and no surcharge added for drinks etc. The ship operates on Australian currency too. The Cruise Director and her staff are just amazing people and so talented. We were seated with people at our dining table that were similar ages and similar travelling companions. eg. singles and 2 people of the same sex travelling together, couples seemed to be seated with other couples. If you want a holiday where you can relax and have great fun this is the way to go. It doesn't matter where you go or what the destinations are, your holiday is on the ship. I don't think I'll ever bother with another land holiday. Where else can you find a formal dining room where all of a sudden the waiters start singing and dancing. Carnival Spirit is a very well oiled machine where things run like clockwork. 10,000 meals a day are prepared on board, all on time and very enjoyable. I'm already planning the next one for later this year. Carnival Australia you really have got it right.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Last time with Carnival
We cruised with family which made it an enjoyable time to be together especially at Christmas. We were very impressed that a lovely Christmas Day Church service was organised in the main entertainment room for a large group to enjoy the real meaning of Christmas.
Generally the staff were very friendly.
However it left a lot to be desired, this was my 8th Cruise and first on Carnival. I would have to be very hard up to ever cruise with them again.
The food in the Empire was always lukewarm.
After the evening show everything was closed and...Read more
