Hi there what are some examples of meals on cohens? Thanks
You receive a recipe book that gives you ideas with your prescribed foods. You'll get creative once you know what you like. It's very easy (one fry pan)
In what year did Cohen's commence? It has been many many years since I commenced the diet but kept the diet plan. It worked for me and have been amused because my notes on the pages were: Yoghurt, hated it but have persevered to this day. I believe it was about 15 years ago however other benefits did occur from this diet in relation to my well being.
Beverley Newberry
I know it took Dr Cohens years of research to develop the diet. I don't know exactly how long its been around for.
I hated the yoghurt too. The high protein one from aldi I found the best with hermisita powder. I had it every day.
is it possible to have lunch or dinner option with eggs?
The meals are great. Yes you can have 1 meal per day with an egg option. you can choose either lunch or dinner.
In my plan I received 3 groups of meals with several choices in each. One choice in one group had egg. I had to have one meal from every group each day, but in any order, so yes you could have egg for lunch or dinner, but not both. I hope this helps.
Hi guys, I am at the end of week one and have lost 3 kg. I have 53kg to go and have been over weight for 11 years. I am wondering if thus is a diet with rapid weight loss that will create super loose skin. Do people dropping the large numbers typically get the scary loose skin on this diet?
Hope you've found it successful. It completely toned by skin and body and I know people who lost 40-50+ kgs didn't have loose skin. Noone looked gaunt or sickly after the drastic loss that I saw. I'd ...
Read moresuggest reading the success stories on the website. The pics will show it.What is the cost?
Hi Stewart, it would be best to contact your closest clinic directly or through the website, click on the "contact Us" and select the state you are in. You should receive an e-mail with further information and some clinic have the costs mentioned.
When I signed up I stated that I would have tofu as 1 of the options in Meal 3, what is the equivalent as I struggle with tofu please?
HI there, as you should have a few selections in meal 3 just do not choose Tofu. Yes it makes your selections limited but you can't have another protein equivalent.
What can I drink on this lifestyle plan?
6 cups black tea or black coffee max per day, 3 litres of water, no sugar diet drinks (coke zero, sprite zero etc) not a lot else especially no alcohol....
Great response Hayden ! No milk or milk products, no juices or any sugar. No booze either. I had Coke Zero and black coffee.. worked well for me. And lots of water >2 litres water a day. I didn’t miss the alcohol and you won’t once you get hydrated
Does anyone know if you can add unsweetened almond milk to coffee?
Do people put on weight afterwards?
I found it not a diet as such but a lifestyle change. It teaches about good healthy eating options. I haven't put weight on but I find I still pretty much eat what I was eating when on the programme.
Yes. If you stop eating the Cohen way.
Like anything if you stick with the lifestyle you’ll be ok but if you go back to your old habits it will go back on.
I am traveling to South Africa how many crackers and which brands can I have?
Hi, I live in Tasmania and as the closest clinic is in Melbourne, would I still ve able to do this programme? Also what does it cost? Thanks Karen
Yes you can do the program from Tasmania and your consultant will keep in contact with you via telephone and email - If you have a look on our Cohen's website the contact details you need are there un...
Read moreder Tasmania. The clinic will be able to give you all the information you need with regards to the cost of the program and blood tests in your area. Good luck!Does the program apply for those with hypothyroidism?
Yes it can still work! I have an under active thyroid problem too & I have been prescribed thyroxine by my doctor for over 5 years. I have recently had to reduce my medication on a daily basis to inco...
Read morerporate the changes my body is actually going through. Hope is helps!Have no idea.
I'm about to start doctor Cohen's programme and am a little sceptical as I don't think I've ever been at my suggested weight. All of the weight loss numbers seem huge I'm wondering without insulting people are the people losing these large numbers morbidly obese as it's easier for really obese people to loose larger numbers quicker at the start than smaller (but still overweight people). I have 20 kg to lose and ask have people really lost this within a 6 month programme if they are committed and follow it? Any feedback would be appreciated
Thanks
Hi Chrizzy,
I am 176cm tall. I began the Cohen's program at 108kg and am now down to 78kg. According to the BMI charts I am now in the healthy weight range. It took 16 weeks to achieve this goal...
Read more which is just over 3.5 months. This still left me with time to complete the refeeding / stabilistion portion of the program as well as some support time while maintaining the weight.Appreciate the feedback! I'm so hoping it will work for me so organisation is the key! Looking forward to the results! Cheers!
Is the testing plan actually targeted at what your blood tests reveal or is to just one eating plan?
Perhaps book in for an information session

Yes, it is your unique biochemistry at this point in time - Hopefully you have been to an information session and had all your questions answered :)
I am worried that I may not be accepted by Cohens as had breast cancer in 2009. This involved chemotherapy. I was given the 5 year clearance end of 2013 and have since had no problems. I put on 30 kg weight during the 5 year period assuming due to the medication. I have been medication free for over 2 years. Do you know if other ex-chemo patients have been on programme?
I did cohens 10 years ago was easy and worked but weight went back on slowly over the years going to try again can you tell me if list has changed over the years. Regards Jo
10 years is a very long time in between plans. You should get in touch with the clinic in your State to discuss.
Hi I am in QLD, how much does it cost ? Can I pay it off ? Do I need to take supplements, I am also in a regional area. Can you still help me ? Cheers Erika
Hi Erika,
It cost $750....which sounds a lot of money, but I wanted to feel & look better..& yes there is a payment plan on offer. And absolutely no supplements except vitamins, which for me wasn't a...
They are happy to take your money, payment is all up front unless things have seriously changed. But don't waste your money. This is a minimalist diet. Contact someone that has already done the diet a...
Read morend get a copy of it from them. All are different, but all the same if you get my drift. (5 grams different etc etc)Beagly what terrible advice; you are not only breaching copyright, but each individual client is assessed by Dr Cohen with regards to their medical conditions etc.

Read moretate clinic who will be able to advise on what to do and perhaps go in and have an information session to learn more about the program.I am thinking of doing this program as I have 60kgs to loose. Everyone keeps saying how expensive the program is I am going to an information session next weekend, but I have also been looking at another program that is thousands of dollars! Is this program in the thousands?
It cost me $850 dollars for a 6 month contract but for your weight loss it may take longer. I averaged 1.5 to 2kg a week at the start down to about a kilo a week near my goal, hope this helps.
Hi, I also had 60 kilos to lose... the initial cost is $750 which is for 6 months of support (Perth Clinic) but you can pay $350 up front and the pay the balance @ $20/week for 6 months. I needed to ...
Read moreextend my support contract twice at a cost of 2 X $165 for 3 months each so total of 12 months. If you work out how much you would spend on other programs buying shakes/meals monthly then IMO this program is not really that expensive at all. The support you get from the consultants is great too as they have all completed the program themselves. Good luck with your journey! :)My answer above wasn't very clear... The total cost for me was:
$750 - 6 months ...
Read more$165 - 3 months $165 - 3 months You also have to pay for the blood tests which you will have roughly every 4 weeks ($15 each), the results of these are what Dr Cohen uses to prepare your re-feeding program which you receive once you reach your goal weight. :)I am a very picky Eater and am allergic to many raw fruits. Will this diet adapt to my tastes, or will I have to struggle to adapt to this diet?
I just wanted to add (after finding a sample menu) that I strongly dislike salads of most varieties. Mainly lettuce unless finely chopped with it's texture disguised, tomatoes, mushrooms and nuts; and...
Read more I can't stand most seafood (occasionally like butterfish and tuna mornay). I love most veg cooked. I also cannot eat fresh cilantro.Hi there

Hi there, I for one was spoiled for choice with the selection of different vegetables and fruit on the program. I haven't even ate some of the listed vegetables and fruits before I started my program ...
Read moreand found it interesting trying new foods. You don't always have to have a salad. I loved using baby spinach, mushrooms, zucchini, onion and green capsicum with my meat / chicken. You can have your vegetables cooked or raw, just have to make sure that you weigh it raw and that it is precise. I would suggest you contact your nearest Cohen's Clinic and go to one of the their information sessions where the program will be explained to you in detail and you can decided for yourself which of the vegetables and fruit you would be able to eat.
