Saved money, but the staff were SO rude!
I shopped at Cosco (North Lakes) with my partner for ourselves and one other family. Some of the items in there are really cheap, while others are the same (give or take a few dollars) as everywhere else.
We did save a bit of money by shopping there, but they again have to factor in driving all the way down from the Sunshine Coast. The staff are also incredibly rude and condescending, and seem to go out of their way to be as unhelpful as possible.
I don't think we'll go out of our way to go back. The extra hassle wasn't worth it for such poor service.

Finally, high quality products at extra low prices
Costco will change the way you shop. Their customer service is excellent, their veggies fresher than any veggie store in QLD, and their meats? Less expensive than coleswollies and better quality too.
Only a family of two, but there are many things we buy in bulk, and we are saving about 100 a week on food/sundries.
Costco is geared towards the middle and upper class, and not every one will "get" the concept of bulk buying.
Australia needs more competition and Costco is just the group to do it.

Great bargains but rude staff
Went to Costco Northlakes for the first time today. I was very impressed with the range and the prices, although some things are still cheaper to buy at Coles/Woolies. We did a large bulk buy and it has worked out so much cheaper for us, however wouldn't recommend going there if just doing a normal weekly shop. The most disappointing thing was the rude staff and I would have to say that this has left a really bad first impression. 4 out of 5 staff that served us were downright rude and unfriendly and unhelpful. Not sure if this is what customer...Read more
service is like in the US, but if it is they can keep it there! Really not sure if we will go back based on this, I would prefer to pay more at my local Coles and have great friendly customer service, than driving over an hour and having to pay $60 for the privilege of being treated that way.Similar opinion? Wholesale not a retail
Guys, let me go straight to the point...If you think of Costco as a retail shop and that you are going to make astronomical savings by buying $40-$50 worth of goods...you are wrong and do not even think about paying for a membership. Under these circumstances you will not see any difference from Coles and Woolies. In fact you are much worse of.
Costco is a wholesale warehouse and you can only see great difference from buying at Costco from Coles and Woolies if you buy large. I have deliberated for good 6 months to buy a membership at Northlakes...Read more

We need more competition in Australia to stop rampant price gouging.
I am a US Costco member. Signed up in Hawaii a couple of years ago and renewed my membership this year when a store opened in Brisbane. Australians have been priced gouged by greedy retailers for years but since the likes of Costco and Aldi entered the market suddenly the scene has changed. I recently bought spectacles at Costco and saved over $200 from my normal provider. I would like to see the pharmacy grip broken too and have Costco open pharmacies in their stores. I would also like to see the Costco Travel and Auto programs in Australia. A...Read more
mericans pay significantly less for cruise holidays and this has been as a result of competition between travel agencies. Notice the meat at Costco, virtually trimmed of all fat. Woolies and Coles charge almost double if you want your meat like that. Fuel prices around Northlakes suddenly dropped dramatically when Costco opened.Similar opinion? They are simply the best
I joined Costgo North Lakes when the store opened, there are so many bargains too many to mention. You have to be disciplined in buying as you can get caught up in the hype. Their vegetables are very fresh and last twice as long as the ones in other supermarkets. The strawberries are from Wamuran and taste delicious. i live close by and the petrol savings are fantastic we have 2 cars and we have saved our $60.00 in that alone. One question how can Woolies and Coles sell discounted petrol in this area but not anywhere else they are ripping us off. I now shop Costgo and Aldi don't need the others

Fuel a total ripoff
Fuel bowsers only allow $20, $80 etc. selected $80 but car only took $70. So instead of reversing the $80 Costco took another $80 plus the $70 thus charging me $230 for $70 fuel. They refuse to acknowledge that they have made a mistake and will not refund the money. So much for cheap fuel.
Fuel works out to be about 4 times the price of anybody else. Staff are the rudest I have ever encountered

All good at costco north lakes
Some prices are cheaper and some more expensive, but you cant please everyone. A really great place to do all your shopping in the same place. Purchased some shoes at 70 % cheaper than leading shoe store. Friendly staff very helpful and going back tomorrow as it was a great first visit. Very Highly Recommend going there.
Everything in one building.

The facts. Just the facts. Also fail to provide the normal things you would expect to find at a fuel station like air and water meaning you have to go elsewhere anyway.
